Grayson was an old dog true, but he was open to new tricks. Coffee was definitely a new trick he rather enjoyed. It changed his whole morning. Kate had actually brought him to this place, telling him it was the only place with a decent cup of coffee. Being a tea man himself he didn't immediately notice the appeal until he had Joe's coffee and he was Hooked for life.
He was there early this morning, there was a break in the case and he was eager to get the day started. Kate would be meeting him there soon enough to go over the details. He rather enjoyed the morning routine it added a bit of normalcy to the chaos.
The door opened and he turned expecting it to be Kate what greeted him instead was quite possibly the most extraordinary creature God had ever created.

Felicia had become addicted to coffee during an extended trip to America nearly ten years ago. The Americans loved their coffee; they swore by it as the only way to start the day. When in Rome, as they say, you do as the Romans do, and when in America, you do as the Americans do. Soon she had become just as hooked on the morning coffee as the average American.
But upon returning to Britain, it had been a hard habit to keep up. The coffee in the Ministry cafeteria was weak and watery, unless it had been sitting for too long. Then it was thick, like sludge from the bottom of a swamp. There was just no in-between. Felicia had despaired of ever having a decent cup of coffee again until she discovered Joe's. Now her day couldn't truly begin without a visit to the little coffee shop.
As with everything Felicia ever did, she was all business. She walked in briskly, not really looking around at anyone, and got into line to order her daily cup of Joe's special breakfast blend.

Before he knew what he was doing he was behind her in line for a second time. Unconsciously he caught the scent of her hair and something stirred inside of him that he hadn't felt for a very long time.
He didn't know what to say to her, though he had never been at a loss for words before. He had to talk to her, but simply couldn't.

Felicia didn't notice him. She was aware when someone stepped behind her in line, but since it was hardly an unexpected occurrence, she paid no attention. In her mind, she was going over the work she needed to do today, and that was all that occupied her thoughts. She was going to check in with the new girl, to see how well she was fitting in. Then she'd check with Sean Leviner or a wrap-up on the Kryshna case and an update on the kidnapping case. Brady was in between cases, but she had a possible case for him. Even though the serial killer case seemed to have gone cold, it was still there, plaguing her.
She reached into her pocket, pulling out the muggle money she kept on her at all times, for occasions just like this one. But a few coins slipped from her hand and hit the floor with a loud jingle. She sighed and bent down to pick it up.

Grayson found his opportunity and took it, "Allow me." he picked up the coins for her and brushed his hand with hers, suddenly he lifted his chin and his eyes caught hers.
He held his gaze for as long as she would let him, there was something serious in his eyes, something serious and at the same time gentle, "Here miss..." he said holding his hand open for her to take her money.

Felicia still didn't see him right away. She was focused on the coins and bending to pick them up. She was actually surprised when she heard the voice next to her, followed by the whisper-light touch of his hand, which sent shivers down her spine. She looked up, and their eyes met. It wasn't often that Felicia Campbell literally felt the sensation of having her breath taken away, but that was exactly what happened.
"Thank you," she said in a distracted tone, unable to tear her eyes from his face. "Have we met?" she asked, her eyes flickering to his open palm. She made no move to take the money just yet.

"I don't believe we have." he caught his tongue and his usual smile yes she was beautiful, yes his own breath had been lost at the sight of her, but strangely she calmed him as well. It was as if they were old friends already and he couldn't explain the feeling.
"I'd remember you certainly if I had." still he couldn't shake the feeling like he had known her his whole life.

Felicia felt, irrationally, like giggling. She hadn't giggled since she was twelve years old. She hadn't blushed, either, come to think of it and her cheeks were feeling suspiciously hot.
Taking a deep breath, she returned his smile and held her hand out for him to shake. "Felicia Campbell," she said, trying and failing to summon up some reasonable facsimile of her usually brusque tone. "And you are...?"

Felicia Campbell... why was that name familiar to him? Or maybe she was just familiar to him.
"The name is Grayson Ma'am, Grayson Steele" he said with a charming hint of an accent.
Like all great first impressions he wasn't sure how he was doing, he wanted to be smooth but her beauty truely took his breath away. He realized he was nervous, he hadn't been nervous since his first days on the job, and back then he had so much to prove, what was it about this woman that made him feel unsure of himself?

The name Grayson Steele was definitely familiar to Felicia, but for the moment, she couldn't remember why. But she felt fairly certain that she had just heard the name recently... probably at the Ministry. It wasn't like she had much of a social life, so if she heard someone's name it most likely had to do with the Ministry.
"Grayson Steele," she repeated, some of her confidence slipping back into her voice. "Its a pleasure to meet you. I'm sure that name rings a bell... do you work at the Ministry?"
