Emmeline's eyes drooped slightly as she read over potions essay. She had stayed up all night to finish and still lacked about two inches from the required length. She sighed. Luckily, she had a roommate that, although they both thought classes were rather tedious, did their work diligently. Therefore they had both been up the entire night.
Emme took a swig of her pumpkin juice and stuffed her essay into her bag. She could really care less if it wrinkled. It was breakfast time and not many students were actually at the tables. Probably on account of the hour. Well, it wasn't too early, but most students slept till the last minute. Of course, the Ravenclaw table had the most students every morning. That Sorting Hat sure didn't get things wrong did it?
She looked around. She couldn't spot Eva everywhere. She wondered if she should go check and see if she was awake yet. It wasn't like her to sleep late. It wasn't like they were best friends, but Emme and Eva had been spending more time together. They definitely had a bond. It wouldn't be long before they were inseparable. She didn't have time to think much more on that because someone had come to sit beside her without her noticing.

Eva walked into the Great Hall, messenger bag slung over her shoulder, and made her way to the Ravenclaw table. She scanned the table and found a very drowsy-looking Emme, almost falling into her pumpkin juice. Smiling slightly, Eva slipped down beside her. "Goodmorning, sunshine. Did you finish the essay?"
Emme always worked so hard in school. Of course, Eva did too, but not quite as much as Emme did. Eva just couldn't bring herself to care that much; she was too smart for her own good. She began sleepily piling food onto her own plate.

"Why are you so perky?" Emme asked. "You didn't have to stay up late to finish this essay?" She was grumpy and Emme was usually a morning person, but that was usually because she had sleep the night before. "I stayed up all night and I'm still short two inches."
She watched Eva pile on the food and made a face. "How do you manage to eat so much and still stay skinny?" This was going to be a long day for Emme and her friends. She was just in a bad mood.

"Well, I stayed up till around...3 I think? I don't know, once I finished, I passed out. Do you need any help with the rest?"
Emme continued on to make a snarky comment about Eva's breakfast. Eva frowned. "I dunno, high metabolism I guess...." Eva trailed off and inspected Emme. What was wrong with her? This hadn't been her first all nighter, had it? "Listen, I don't like Potions either; in fact, I hate Potions, it's my least favorite subject, but you seem kinda--well--more stressed than normal homework stressed. You all right?"
