Bobby felt almost ostracized from her sisters, though she was willing to admit that this was partly her fault. She wasn't talking to Callie at all anymore. Everytime they did, it seemed to end in a big argument. She barely talked to Linette. It hurt being distanced from them like this, and she tended to leave first in the mornings and came back last at night.
Rabastan was more than obliging with this new routine of hers, usually inviting her back to the slytherin common room for a while. She never spent the night, and nothing more happened than just being held on one of the sofas. What the girls didn't seem to realize was that the more they tried to protect her from Rabastan Lestrange, the more they pushed her towards him.
She sighed, feeling her body relax into Rabastan's arms.

Rabastan felt her sigh more than he heard it, and he nudged her a bit. They were relaxing in one of the oversized chairs, a few other slytherins around them talking about the next Quiddit h match against Slytherin. Ravenclaw had somehow obliterated Gryffindor, and they were supposed to play Slytherin next. He was only half paying attention.
"What's wrong?" He asked the pretty brunette, his attention shifting easily to her. It was too easy, really. Bobby was so innocent and so eager. His only battle with her was that she was too shy. He was working on that, though.

Bobby turned her head to look at him, and she bit her lip in the process.
Bobby was not a stupid girl. She knew of Rabastan's reputation, and the stories that Linette and some of the other girls told. But it was really hard to remember those when she was in a situation like this, where he showed her that he was paying attention to even her body movements, and he cared about her. She tried really hard to remind herself that he was a bad guy, but she just couldn't do it. He was sweet to her and he treated her really well.
The biggest point in his favor was that he wasn't pressuring her into anything. They hadn't even kissed yet... if he was such a womanizer, why would he be so patient?
She could only shrug. "Nothing. I'm just thinking about my sisters."

Rabastan kept himself from making any kind of facial expression. He knew that Bobby felt at odds with her sisters, and he knew it was because of him. Bobby had told him one day.
And yes, he knew he was an asshat. He had this all planned out, and he already knew how perfectly it would work out. He'd kiss her, sooner than later, and she'd inevitably mention it to one of her sisters. Either way, Callie would find out, confront him about it, and he'd get her to kiss him in exchange for leaving Bobby alone... which of course, wasn't going to happen. From there, he was pretty sure he could get Bobby into his bed. It was the confidence that helped him.... that, and being understanding in situations like this.
So, jerk? Yeah. But she heard the rumors, she had her chance to push him away.
He sat up a little straighter, dislodging Bobby. "Come on, let's go talk." he looked pointedly at the other students in the common room, meaning tha he didn't want Bobby to have to explain everything in front of them. He stood up, taking her hand and leading her up the stairs to his dorm room. (What a failure that thought had been, not guarding the boys rooms from girls.)

Bobby didn't really expect him to pull her to her feet, but when he did, she tugged back for a second, reaching down to grab her high heels that she had taken off when they got in here. (She was wearing heels a lot more since she started hanging out the Slytherin boy).
She followed him up the stairs, surprised to see that his dorm was empty. "Where is everyone?" Her dorm room was never empty, and it was kind of nice to have somewhere quiet.

Rabastan shrugged. "Around, I guess. They don't usually come in until late, anyway." Hopefully, that would make her feel more at ease in here. It was the first time she had actually seen his room... he was pushing her in little ways that she wouldn't even notice.
"Sit down," he told her, gesturing to the bed on the far left- it was his and impossibly neat. He sat down first, leaning his back against the headboard. "Did they say anything again? Bobby, you know I don't want to come in between you and your sisters. If this is a problem..."

Bobby didn't even blink at how easy it was to sit down on his bed, facing him with one leg pulled up under her body. He was just comfortable to be around, even if he made her stomach do summersaults.
"No, stop. I don't know what their problem is, really. I just ... I miss them. We never fight like this." She stopped and smiled, shrugging her shoulders. "It doesn't matter. I'll figure it out."

Rabastan was quiet for a moment, doing a fantastic job of feigning interest. After a moment, when he heard Bobby sigh again and her eyes dropped from his, he held out his hand. "Come here, Bobby."
He motioned her closer when she glanced up, and then put an arm around her. It didn't take long before she relaxed and was resting against him.
"They'll come around. I'd offer to help with this... but I think you've got a better shot of talking since into Callie if I'm not around. And I know you don't want to hear this, but sometimes, siblings just... separate. I have a brother, you know... everything between us is this competition and trying to put each other down. It happens."

Bobby listened, but shook her head. "Not to us. It's different." The girls had a bond They even twins didn't have, and it killed Bobby to not talk to them. So it was easier to sneak away and spend time with Rabastan, even if that was making the problem worse.
"So whatever it is, we'll figure it out. Can we talk about something else? What happened with your brother?"

He should have felt bad That he was single handedly tearing the sisters apart. But he didn't. No one gave a dungbomb when he dated Linette, and he treated her like a bloody queen. He could be a right gentleman to Bobby. So no, he didn't feel bad about anything. Instead he pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Just let me know if I can do anything."
Really, the last thing he wanted to talk about was Rudolphus. He didn't think Bobby was looking for "he's a right gut" as an answer. "We Just grew up differently, saw things in a different way. That's all. He and I don't exactly see eye to eye."

Bobby frowned. This phase with her sisters aside, nothing tore them apart. Even when they didn't see "eye to eye," they were still thick as theives. Their father never had to worry about them growing up and hating each other. It made her sad that Rabastan's family was obviously very different.
"Oh," She said, the frown still evident, and she sighed, settling into his chest a little more with the vague thought that one of their arms was going to fall asleep soon.

"Come on now, love. No frowns on that beautiful face of yours." It was way too easy for him to say things like that to a girl, and the girls he said it to fell for it way too easily.
His fingers brushed her hair back, and he decided that if there was ever a time to make his move, doing it while she was vulnerable and putty in his hands was the time to do it. He shifted so that she had to lift her head, and he put his hand on her cheek. "You're a strong girl," he told her, inching closer to her until he could see in her eyes that she knew exactly what he was doing.

Bobby's hear almost skipped a beat when she realized that he was about to kiss her. And maybe it was silly that she got suddenly nervous about a kiss, but things like that were a big deal to Bobby, who was always overlooked by guys.
So she let him kiss her, her eyes falling closed and a smile coming to her lips. It didn't even matter that Callie would kill her if she knew. She kissed him back.

Rabastan, too, smiled into the kiss, thought it was a smug sort of grin.
One down, two more to go. Callie was next on his list, and what a piece of cake that would be.
But he was good, and he knew he couldn't scare Bobby off, so he pulled back and stopped at just one kiss. "You'll be all right." It was a continuation of his earlier thought. "Come on... let's go outside. Maybe the fresh air will make you feel better."

Merlin help her, Bobby was disappointed when he pulled away, but she was still smiling a little. She nodded and got to her feet, at the point, willing to follow him to the ends of the earth if he asked it of her.
And he probably knew it, too.
