Strengths: (at least 5)
+Deadly with a wand and even without
+Goal oriented and dedicated, if he’s set his sights on something it’s as good as done.
+Deception. He can make almost anyone believe anything if it suits his purpose, otherwise he doesn’t lie much.
+Finances. He inherited his father’s business sense, and after smart working of several different ventures that has paid off, he’s quite comfortable.
+ Quick Thinking: He’s good at getting out of tight spots.
Weaknesses: (at least 5)
-The scars from the past he never talks about.
-His Sister
-His Father and the inability to connect to the man.
-Stubborn to a fault. It’s his way or no way at all.
-He’s really unbearable to be around for a long period of time, he’s often too serious and too into his job for normal conversation. When he’s not working he lives alone in a flat that has no pictures and no sentimentality. He’s not a very warm person, at least on the surface.
-Regrets that haunt him.
Personality: (at least 4 sentences)
After what happened to him and his sister, watching his mother die and being helpless to stop it he’s worked harder than ever to make sure that nothing like that could ever happen to him again. He’s trained in several areas of magical arts including the dark ones whether he had special clearance to learn them or not. Still his superiors don’t argue with the numbers he pulls in and how well he’s done, rather they turn a blind eye to most of it. He’s used to getting his own way and he’s not afraid to walk away from a long term friendship or contract if it goes against the grain of what he wants to accomplish. Depending on what kind of relationship you have with him, he could be the funny charming guy or the guy you avoid at all costs. Generally speaking he doesn’t socialize with anyone really, but he’s very charming so people do like him. That charm helps when it comes to his job. But if you try to get too deep or pry into places he’s uncomfortable with then being around him is like walking through a land mine.

History:
Paul doesn’t really remember much before his mother died, or at least he doesn’t give much importance to it. That’s when his life changed completely. That day however, he remembers clear as crystal. His mother reaching out to protect him and his sister. She had told him to run and to take Aislinn…and it was his fault they were captured, or at least he blames himself. He didn’t want to leave his mother. Whenever his father was gone he had told Paul that it was his responsibility to be the man of the house, to take care of his mother and his sister. He had tried to do that, he had tried to protect his mother, and instead the woman caught all of them unawares.
First there was the torture, it was excruciating but he didn’t really feel a thing. The only pain he registered was watching Aislinn being hurt and that killed him. He fought like a wild animal against the restraints and didn’t stop fighting until the woman had killed his mother, then everything inside of him came crashing to a halt. A terrifying pain-filled “No!” was wrenched from his lips, and then the tears that fell from his eyes. The woman continued to torture both him and his sister, and when his sister had passed out Paul lost control thinking that she had died as well. At this point his heart was already broken and was quickly filling with something else…something much darker, he hated this woman and if it was the last thing he did, he was going to kill her, and anyone else who stood in his way. He screamed at her to kill him too, that if she didn’t he’d find her and she’d beg for death, but she laughed at him and said that living with the pain was too great a torture to pass up. He would have his revenge. That was his last thought before he passed out from the pain.
He woke up when the authorities came and he still was fighting them, he didn’t stop fighting until one of the men who was checking on his sister said that she was still alive. He calmed then and allowed them to take him and his sister to a hospital. He healed quickly, quicker anyway than his sister, and every day he’d visit her. Then came the news of his sister’s hearing loss and that she’d have to be at the hospital a little longer. Paul was still there every day, and if she was asleep he’d leave a red rose by her bed, that was how she would be able to tell if he had been there.
After the entire affair was over Paul couldn’t seem to connect with his father anymore. He wasn’t sure if he blamed the man for letting it happen in the first place, or if he blamed him for not going after the woman and instead running off to England to start a new life. Paul was so full of anger and pain that no amount of reaching out to him worked. Finally when he was of age and when he could see that there was just no fixing their relationship Paul left. Once again he left his sister with a red rose saying that he’d be back someday and not to worry about him. Every year on her birthday he sends her a red rose no matter what.
He returned to the states a young naïve boy with a lot of anger and a lot of ambition, which helped him immensely in getting to where he was going. He was on a witch hunt for one particular witch, and on the way he acquired skills that made him stand out among other candidates. Eventually he was contacted by an agent who promised him a satisfying career, among other things if he would join them. Paul didn’t care two cents about a satisfying career, but a career in the same field his father worked would give him access or at least get him closer to the case files his father had worked on, slowly getting him closer and closer to the woman who had changed his life.
But training and working for the government wasn’t what he’d thought it would be, there were long missions and sometimes he wouldn’t see his own place for months. It was dangerous too. Part of him was starting to at the same time resent and admire his father. How could his father have left them to do such dangerous work, how could he have made such enemies? At the same time, his father really was a hero, it was just complicated.
Until complicated came with a whole new meaning in the form of Anna Marie…
Anything else? Lol we’ll stop there so he has some mystery when he posts…I’ll let everyone wonder who this Anna Marie person is.
