Personality: Thaddeus is a pretty twisted soul. He's extremely snobbish and arrogant, and is often quite lazy as well. He's the kid in class with his feet up on the desk, who bullies weaker students to let him copy off their papers. He thinks he's entitled to everything he wants, just because he's a pureblood. Since his father was one of the earliest Death Eaters (he went to school with Tom Riddle), Thaddeus aspires to be one himself one day. Actually, he knows he will be one. His father has been training him for it pretty much since birth, before the "death eaters" actually existed in their current form. Hatred of muggleborns and muggles has been deeply ingrained in him, as well as the absolute conviction of his superiority as a pureblood.
He's also quite brutal. He has no real concept of right and wrong... in his mind, an injury to a mudblood is sort of like pulling the wings off of flies. (And yes, he's done that, too.) He practices the cruciatus curse on insects and small animals (he's working his way up), and enjoys watching them suffer. He's not strong enough to use the Cruciatus curse on people yet, and hasn't mastered the other Unforgivables yet. But he does know a good deal of other dark spells, taught to him by his father.
He has a particularly dark sense of humor, too, and he likes to find out a person's weakness and prey upon it, just for kicks. He'll make a joke at just about anyone's expense, but he doesn't like when someone turns it around on him. Then he gets nasty and violent. He will resort to physical violence, if necessary.
History (At least 4 sentences): Born to Stuart and Camilla Avery after nearly 10 years of marriage, Thaddeus was an unexpected surprise to his parents. They were hardly close anymore, and they had long determined that they probably would not have children. But then Camilla got pregnant after their ten year-anniversary celebration. When he was born, Thaddeus was spoiled and fussed over endlessly. Stuart already saw the boy as an heir in every sense of the word, and he wanted to train him, as soon as possible, to be a follower of Lord Voldemort. But Camilla, who also doted on the boy, wanted him to make up his own mind about things.
So as Thaddeus grew up, tension began to grow between his parents. Stuart took every possible opportunity to teach his son about how horrible muggles and muggleborns were, while Camilla tried to tell him that they weren't so bad. His father tried to teach him about dark magic, while Camilla tried to teach him about the good things magic could do. Thaddeus was torn at first. He admired both of his parents, and wanted to please them. Eventually, he learned how to act the way each parent wanted him to act while he was with them. But he was more inclined to listen to his father. Arguments between his parents became more and more common, and Thaddeus heard them all.
One day, when Thaddeus was 8 years old, the argument was worse than ever. Camilla had caught Stuart teaching little Thaddeus about the Unforgivable Curses, and she lost it. They fought loudly, for hours, locked up in the library, and it evenutally turned violent. They hurled curses and furniture at each other, and Camilla was hit with a heavy book that struck her head, killing her. Thaddeus doesn't know that his father was responsible for his mother's death, however. Stuart claimed that Camilla died of a sudden aneurysm from all the yelling and screaming.
Without Camilla's calming influence, Thaddeus became more and more like his father, and slowly every shred of good in him is fading away.
