Appearance:
Marcus has messy, black hair that he usually sweeps to one side, covering a strange birthmark on his forehead. He is rather skinny, and can never seem to achieve a muscular body, though that may be due to his avoidance of the gym. He has always been touchy about his short stature, which led to many leprechaun jokes one ill-fated month.

Personality (At least 4 sentences, but longer is preferred): Marcus is a quiet intellectual, who was raised to have a healthy respect for women and the pain they endure for the sake of style. He is quick to laugh, slow to anger, and always there when you need him. He is happiest in the kitchen, and when he is (constructively) critiquing his friends while they’re trying on clothes.
Marcus doesn’t care about blood status or house rivalries, thinking such trivial judgments are immature and far too hard to remember anyway. What he does care about is how a person treats others. He will always step in to help a friend in need, but rarely will he stand up for himself. Due to this, he is often walked over and ordered about, but he doesn’t hold a grudge. He firmly believes in the motto of “Forgive and Forget,” which has led him to retain quite a few unhealthy friendships. Despite his willingness to help whomever needs it, he will not break the rules. The important ones at least. When a potentially disastrous situation arises, he cautions the instigators and leaves the vicinity.
Marcus tends to be theatrical and overly formal when talking to authority figures, though with his own peers he is quiet and often answers questions in a manner that leaves much to be desired. He is giving and always remembers a friend’s birthday, baking treats for them to an excessive point though he doesn’t expect anything in return.
History (At least 4 sentences): Marcus is a muggle-born who grew up by the coast. His father was never really around, so his mother was able to raise him any way she wanted. Obviously, that led to some strange behavior! Contrary to his old schoolmates beliefs, Marcus' dad is not a runaway, dead-beat dad, but had to travel for work nearly constantly. His mother had always wanted a daughter, to go on shopping sprees with, teach cooking to and buy pink things for. She still took him shopping and taught him home-ec skills, but mercifully did not force him to wear pink.
Since the age of five, Marcus has never been without at least one pet. Much to his mother’s frustration, he brought home a new animal every week, often a stray he found in the fields near their quaint cottage. Eventually his mother instated a rule in an effort to control the animal population, every time he brought home a new one, another had to go up for adoption. This didn’t have much of an effect, as Marcus merely began leaving food at the edge of their property for the strays.
Thanks to their shopping trips, Marcus quickly picked up on his mother’s sense of style and began to think of ways to annoy her. What he thought would be his most successful idea backfired miserably on him one summer. Just nine years old, Marcus decided to dye his hair bleach blond. However, he was not the most adept at following instructions. When he walked into his kitchen three hours later, his hair was bright red. His punishment? Going to school the next day with his red locks. His short stature paired with red hair caused many leprechaun jokes for the next month, after which he found his hair miraculously turned back to black.
RP Sample (At least 4 sentences, must be as the character. Pretend it's your first post):
Marcus gazed up at the castle. From his seat in the small boat he could see only a small part of the amazing structure but he knew that there must be innumerable corridors, chambers and passageways hidden in those walls. The stones in the tower nearest him looked ancient and he briefly wondered how old this place was. Lights flickered in windows hundreds of feet above him, he thought he could see a person moving about in one to his right. Marcus let his hand trail in the icy water beneath the boat, peering into the depths of the black lake. Any number of dangerous creatures could live in there, yet we're crossing it in flimsy wooden boats that we can't control. He mused, withdrawing his fingers before some animal could see them and think they were bait. He could hear the others in the craft conversing, yet he felt no desire to join them. Sighing, Marcus turned back to the front. The castle loomed eerily over the first years, it's mottled gray walls promising adventure and knowledge, the entrance into a new world.
