Ruecain walked in to the library with a bored look on his face. He would rather be playing music than wasting away doing homework for the proffesor's. Ruecain walked down a few rows until he saw a book on ' Music Instrument for the magical kind' He grab the book and sat at the tables near the 'Defense against the dark arts' row. He silently read the book with a grin on his face.

Kellie was supposed to be doing research for a paper in Transfiguration. But you just couldn't put a book in front of Kellie and expect her not to get drawn into it. Although she much preferred fiction books, she still had that insatiable thirst for knowledge that was typical of most Ravenclaws. Research, for her, was just too tempting. She would had a bunch of books in front of her, and after she found what she needed, she would get distracted by a word or phrase, and before she knew it, she was halfway through a chapter.
She had just gone off on one of her tangents, still sitting cross-legged in the aisle, hunched over a book called "The Art and Science of Transfiguration" when she heard a student nearby sneeze. It was enough to pull her from her trance, and she looked up. She had done it again. Sighing to herself, she picked up the book, along with two others she had picked out earlier, and got to her feet.
She had left her other things on a table near the Defense Against the Dark Arts row, but that had probably been about an hour ago. Hopefully, her things were still OK.
As she approached the table, she saw that her things were still there, just sort of stuck in the corner. A boy, who she recognized as being a fellow Ravenclaw, was sitting there, looking quite absorbed in a book.
She slipped into a seat and quietly began spreading her things out around her. "You don't mind, do you?" she said to the boy.

Ruecain was still smiling as he looked up. "oh no I don't mind at all!" He said leaving a bookmark in his book. "I'm Ruecain White!" He greeted holding out a hand for her to shake. "what's your name?"He asked politely. He had seen her around in the common room and at the great hall but never spoken to her because he was a bit shy.

Kellie smiled at him. Of course she had seen him around, and she thought she remembered someone saying that he'd had relatives in Hufflepuff, but she had never actually had a conversation with him. But if there was one thing Kellie loved to do almost as much as reading, it was talking to people. Although she easily lost herself in books, she was still surprisingly sociable, and had an ability to get along with most people.
"Nice to meet you, Ruecain," she replied. "I'm Kellie Whitmore. Ruecain is an unusual name... does it mean anything?"

Ruecain was quiet for a minute. He felt his face fall. He never had anyone ask why his name was Ruecain. "My mom wanted the name Rue and my dad wanted the name Cain both being negative personalties they cur- I mean blessed me with the name Ruecain." Ruecain said in a toneless voice as he explained his name. "I am the way I am because This is the only way I can bother them." He sang in a sing song voice.

Ashelia walked in, and started towards an empty table. she got out a quill and a bottle of ink. she hesitated before she started writing. then she slowly penned, "Dearest Dima: im so veyr sorry i havent written in such a long time, but i have been buissy, as im sure you've been. i really missed you last summer, but i guess it was for a good reason. how is life in Ireland? i hope your doing a good job, what ever youre doing.(ive forgotten) Solera is well, as is Luna. i received a letter form home not too long ago, and Irena is, unfortunately, back inthe hospital. but dont worry, they said its only a minor relapse. anyway, i love you. your affectionate sister, Ashelia"
she stared down at the paper, then folded it into a square. then, deciding it was not at all what she ha d wanted to say, she threw it acrost the table with a frustrated grunt. she leaned her head down and tried her best to look invisable.

Kellie smiled kindly as Ruecain explained his name. Personally, she thought it was better to have a name with a story behind it than just to have an ordinary name with no meaning.
"Well, I think it's a cool name," Kellie said. "Much better than my name. I mean, Kellie is an OK name and all, but it's hardly original. In fact, my younger sister's name is Kelsey. My parents weren't very creative with our names. I used to try and come up with other names for myself, like the ones I read about in books. It would have been so much more exciting to have an exotic name, like Arwen or Guinevere."

Ruecain slightly blushed when Kellie said his name was cool. "Thank you very much at the compliment no one really has ever told me my name was cool!" Ruecain said happily as he pulled his book open. He flip the page until he found his bookmark which was a letter from his sisters. It was his favorite letter so far because they had wrote to him how the youngest sister was better and how much they missed him. At the end of the letter they wrote in big purple writing, "We love you! Ruecain" "I like your name it flows splendidly well like music!" he said as he pick the letter and place it underneath the book.

Kellie smiled at him. He seemed like a pretty nice guy, and she wondered to herself why she had never talked to him before. She usually made it a point to talk to new people whenever she had the chance, and since they were in the same house, she would have thought that they would have talked before.
"Thank you," she said. As ordinary as her name was, she thought it suited her... it wasn't pretty or exotic, but it was cute, like her. She had already reconciled herself to the idea of being the "cute" sister in a family of beauties, and the only thing that made her stand out at all was her vivid red hair.
She nodded at the book in Ruecain's hand, just as he was closing it. "Are you a musician?" she asked.

Ruecain smiled with pride at that question. He pulled out his silver harmonica that his name on it. "I am a musician, I play the harmonica, the piano, and the bagpipes." The harmonica seemed to gleam on the table. " I have always loved music and my nanny always encouraged me with music...she had musical teapot." Ruecain he whispered conspriatorially with a smile.

Kellie leaned forward, leaning closer to him as he talked. The topic of music seemed to light him up, and she could tell how much it meant to him. It was similar to how she would light up while discussing her favorite books.
"I'd love to hear you play sometime," she said. "I especially love the piano... but are the bagpipes very hard to play? They look like they would be."
