Gretchen arrived in Knockturn Alley, having Apparated there from the small hideout where she and her Pack lived. Her right hand, Rochelle, was taking the Knight Bus and would meet her here shortly.
She walked around the dark, dank alleyway, checking out the place. The scent of blood was heavy in the air from the battle that had taken place the night before in Diagon Alley. She smiled to herself. Yes, it had been a big battle. An ugly one.
Although the battle had taken place in Diagon Alley, she could smell that some of the werewolves had come down this way. She should have checked out Diagon Alley, but she liked it better here. It was darker. Gretchen hated the light.
Smiling to herself, she leaned against the wall and waited for Rochelle to arrive.

Rochelle climbed off the knight bus as it halted on the outskirts of Knockturn Alley. She straightened out her shirt and started to walk futher into Knockturn Alley. Stupid Ernie she thought to herself. The poor man has been the bus driver for the knight bus probably for all of time. Rochelle shook her head and continued on her walk. She caught a whiff of Gretchen's scent and walked a few more paces forward. "Good Night I think," she said as she walked up beside Gretchen.

Gretchen turned and looked at Rochelle. "Yes, it was. It was even bigger than they said. The smell of blood and death is nearly overwhelming. Fenrir Greyback must have suffered a truly humiliating defeat. Imagine! Losing so many pack members to a pack formed by one of his own pups! There's no doubt in my mind that Greyback will welcome our arrival..."

"Ah yes, Fenrir. Perhaps he will be glad of our arrival, since it appears that his pack is weak if he could be defeated by his own pups. Although I must say that must feel somewhat like a disgrace," said Rochelle. "Now I do believe that things will turn for the best for him."

"Yes, defeated by his own pups... very humiliating. It's not like with our pack, killed by those brutish humans." Gretchen paused and looked around. "I'm not quite sure where to find Greyback... but I'll definitely need to meet with him first before I decide whether to join his pack with mine. I've heard much about him, of course... who hasn't? But now I wonder if he's really as strong as they say. For his pups to turn against him like that..." She shook her head. "Let's ask around and see if we can find some more information about the battle last night."

Rochelle nodded. "Although, I have to wonder, these stupid humans wouldn't know anything. Have you heard of someone by the name of Zander? Jacob was telling me that when he was in Hogsmeade, he heard talk of a good werewolf by that name. A good werewolf? How can you be a good one excatly?" said Rochelle. "And Jacob also said something about he was the one to attack Fenrir."

Gretchen laughed. "This Zander certainly sounds like a smooth operator, if he's got people convinced he's anything but what we all are--animals. The humans know that we're not like them, that's why they hunted us and killed Buck and the others. Tell you what, Rochelle, why don't you see if you can find this Zander. Talk to him, find out what he's up to. I will seek out Fenrir. You'll have to go to Hogsmeade for this. I am going to see if I can follow the path Greyback and the remains of his pack took when they fled last night."

"Ah yes, Buck. I still miss him," Rochelle said a little sadly, "but times move on." Rochelle listened to Gretchen's plan, and then smiled. "Ah. I like that plan. I'll see if I can't report back if not everyday with something, possibly every other day, depending on the situations," said Rochelle.

"I miss him, too," said Gretchen in a low, menacing voice that sounded like a growl. "And I swear, no matter what it takes, I will have my revenge on the humans who murdered him. And if that means joining forces with Fenrir Greyback to start a war against humans, then so be it." She smiled coldly, looking more like a wolf baring its teeth. "Yes, you go look for this Zander. Tell him you wish to join his pack. And report back to me whenever you can."

Rochelle nodded. "That I will. Hopefully he buys my acting," commented Rochelle. "I shall see you in a few days then. Good luck Gretchen," Rochelle said giving her a smile. "I must off then, if I shall find this Zander, before it gets even later."

"And good luck to you, Rochelle. I'll be waiting to hear from you." Gretchen smiled to herself and leaned against the wall, feeling rather pleased with herself. "Now, then, Fenrir... which way did you go?"
She started back toward the harsh lights of Diagon Alley, and spotted a toothless old man leering at her. "Do you want to die?" she snarled at him. When the old man cowered in fear, she laughed to herself. Then she walked out and began to search for Greyback's scent...
