Kelsey Whitmore walked down into the common room wearing a simple tank top and jean skirt. She sat down in the sofa in front of the fire and stared into the flames thinking of the last owl she recieved from her mother. She was currently dating a man from the ministry and was all giggly over him. It bothered Kelsey but she didn't say anything to her about it. She just sent her best wishes and told her she'd see her for the holidays. She couldn't wait to be home. It was a small home, but she didn't mind. She only spent summers there and from what her mother was saying, they would be moving soon anyways. She missed her daughters too much and was considering moving to Hogsmeade to be closer.
Kelsey sighed and curled up in a ball, wondering what she was going to do with herself now that she was all alone. She didn't have a boyfriend. Her friends were no where to be found and she was bored.

Cadence stalked into the common room in a huff. She had owled her older brothers for a little extra money, so that she could buy the pair of shoes she had her eyes on in Hogsmeade. But so far, Anton had told her no, and the others hadn't responded yet. She felt fairly certain that she could get something from either Constantine--thanks to the heavy guilt trip she had laid on him about not visiting her often enough--or Damon, because he was a pushover, and because he supposedly had started some new job. But so far, she hadn't had a word. If they didn't answer soon, she wouldn't be able to get the shoes when she went to Hogsmeade this weekend.
"Stupid brothers," she grumbled aloud, not noticing that anyone was in the room. "What are they good for, anyway?"

Kesley looked up curiously as another blonde Slytherin walked into the common room. She recognized her as a fourth year named Cadence but they didn't exactly talk. She raised an eyebrow at her as she grumbled something about brothers. She was obviously frustrated at something her brothers had done. Kelsey was suddenly curious what had happened. She sat up and cleared her throat gently.
"I wouldn't know," She replied. "I've only got sisters." She smirked at the girl as she ran a hand through her own blonde curls. "What did you brothers do..or not do to make you so upset?" She asked Cadence. She couldn't relate completely because she didn't have any brothers, but she did have sisters and they could be a little annoying. Maybe that was just a relatives thing.

Cadence let out an exasperated huff and flopped down on the sofa across from Kelsey. If she had been a different sort of girl, Cadence might have realized that there were worse problems in the world than hers. However, Cadence was a selfish, spoiled brat and couldn't have cared less about the troubles of others or about the things going on in the world around her. All that mattered to Cadence was herself.
"They're just so unreliable," she sighed in a long-suffering tone. "I mean, what good is it having five older brothers if none of them will send you money when you ask for it?"
