Maxi was starting to regret entering the tournament. She had broken her ankle in the first task and had come in third. And in the second task at the Yule Ball, she again, came in third. Now, she couldn't even get from class to class without either being ridiculed, or the few fans she felt she had comming up and asking her how she was preparing for the final task.
"I dunno," she'd say. She didn't even know WHEN it was, let alone what would happen.
Finally, when classes were over for the day, Maxi bypassed dinner and spending time with Seth and ran herself up to the Hufflepuff Common Room, dodging people as she went. When she reached her dorm room, Maxi threw herself on her bed and sighed loudly into her pillow.
She then looked up, seeing Jodi over on her own bed. "Hi," Maxi laughed. "Sorry about the dramatic entrance..."

"Hi, Sorry about the dramatic entrance..."
"Hi. And personally I would have gone with a bit more, umm stunts, but your belly flop onto the bed was... nice." Jodi laughed with her friend. From her dramatics, and the general goings-on around school of late, Jodi could figure what was bothering Maxi. "People badgering you about the tournament again? Geez, you'd think they'd get bored after awhile. Move on to something more interesting." Jodi sat on the edge of Maxi's bed, hoping her friend wouldn't mind given her current mood.
"Hey. I have a plan on how we can cheer you up. Go pick on first years. We're still bigger than them. Hmm? Whaddoya say?" Jodi jokingly asked her friend. She was serious about trying to find something to cheer Maxi up though.

(Mind if I crash your thread?)
Ever since the Yule Ball, Genevieve had hardly seen Eve. It seemed like Eve was spending all of her time with Josh, and of course, Genevieve was with Lance.... but the old "four puffs" group seemed to have split into two pairs. And Viv missed her friend terribly. So she headed over to the Fifth Year girls' dorm room and poked her head in to see if Eve was around.
"Oh, hi, Maxi. Hi, Jodi," she greeted the two girls with a friendly smile. "You haven't seen Eve, by any chance, have you?"

"And go out into the Hogwarts public again? No thank you!" Maxi giggled. It wasn't even though she didn't like crowds or people or being the center of attention. Her father was a broadway actor for heaven's sake. She was just tired of it for now.
"I mean, I'd go and hang out with Seth, but his housemates will just pick on me and I'm not up to fighting them off tonight." Ah, the tasks of a Hufflepuff dating a Slytherin.
She looked over at the door and smiled at Genevieve. "Hey there," Maxi greeted the older girl. She looked over to Eve's empty bed. "Nope, haven't seen her since Charms," Maxi shrugged. "You're welcome to hang out till she gets back though."

Jodi smiled at her friend. "Well all right then. Girls night in it is!" She got up from Maxi's bed and moved towards her trunk, but tripped over her own foot when she was halfway there. "You didn't see that." she said quietly before moving on as if nothing had happened. She thought she still had some food in there from her last trip into town. "So is Seth having trouble getting the Slytherins to not pick on you then?"
Before Maxi had answered, Genevieve had stuck her head in the room asking if either of the girls had seen Eva. "Nope, sorry. I haven't seen her in while." she then continued on to herself, still rummaging around in her trunk, "Was it charms? Or outside? No it was at dinner... no...it wasn't..." After a moment of this she realized what she was doing and stopped, blushing. She pulled her hand out of her trunk and held up some Honeyduke's. "Chocolate?" she asked, face still the color of fire.

Genevieve didn't know Jodi very well, because Eve spent more time in her room or in Josh's room than in her own. And maybe she should have gone over to Josh's dorm to see if Eve was there now. But on the other hand, Lance might be there instead and she would end up getting distracted and forget all about Eve.
At any rate, any hesitation Genevieve might have felt was gone as soon as Jodi start offering chocolate. Chocolate was always a welcome distraction.
"Sure," she said, moving into the room. "I could totally go for some chocolate." She sat down on Eve's bed, having already forgotten why she had come into the room in the first place.

Jodi tossed some of the chocolate to where Genevieve was now sitting. She also tossed some at Maxi assuming that, after being badgered by other students, her friend would want it. She closed her trunk and sat on it cross-legged, leaning against her bed for support. She opened some of the chocolate she was still holding, and broke off a piece.
"So..." She started, a little unsure of what to say. She often started talking to herself the way she just had, but normally only when she was alone. Genevieve probably thought she was a freak. She nibbled on her chocolate, before asking, "So how bad are the OWLs really?" She knew it was kind of a lame topic, but she didn't know Genevieve that well, and wasn't sure of what she would enjoy talking about. She hoped Maxi would be able to think of something better, because this topic wouldn't last long.

Genevieve hadn't done especially well on her OWLs. Oh, she and Lance and Josh had studied incessantly, leaving poor Eve out in the cold. Viv felt badly about that, but it couldn't be helped. In the end, it hadn't done much good for Genevieve. It wasn't that she was dumb... and in most cases, she knew the material. But she was easily distracted, and even on the tests, she would go off on a tangent and forget what she was supposed to be doing. It had always happened to her, and she usually didn't finish the tests as they were given to her. But it didn't matter, really. Genevieve didn't have high ambitions for after school. She wanted to marry Lance and have children. Maybe she'd have her own magical hair salon, but even if she didn't, she would be happy, as long as she had Lance.
"I don't really remember them," she said, shrugging. "I didn't do very well, though. I hate tests. Don't you? Especially those multiple choice ones. It's like they're trying to confuse you."

((Sorry to interrupt... Haha!)) Babette walked in just then, and heard what the girl with the blond hair said. She didn't know any of these people, so she awkwardly said "Yeah, I hate test. In the middle of them, I always look out a window, and forget that I'm even taking a test, until the teacher says 'You have about five more minutes.' and then I rush through it. And sometimes, I think that the teachers put a special code with the multiple answers. But, that's just me. What are your names?"
Babette never really spoke to people she didn't know, but she thought she'd give it a try. She needed friends to talk to, and help her find her way around the school. In other words, she was lonely. So, there she was standing akwardly talking to people she didn't even know the names of.
