Cassius is your atypical rich playboy with too much time and money on his hands. He's a good guy, charming and skilled, while a little snobbish he's quick to be generous, he's kinda cynical and jaded but in a laid back and bored sort of way, as if he's discovered everything there is to discover and nothing else holds any entertainment value. Inside him there is a good man waiting to come out but there is no incentive for it now.

“His father, a wealthy pureblood from England, chose to depart from his homeland and travel the world. He turned his back on his wealth, his family, and his title all for the adventure of the unknown. His travels took him many places, he learned many things, but nothing so life altering as love. He found her somewhere in Macedonia. She was, to her family, a great bargaining chip that would form an alliance with a neighboring family, but to him she was simply a beautiful woman. He kidnapped her in the dead of night and brought her back to his country, to his way of life. While their romance was forbidden and enchanting, strict England rule stifled the flame and beauty of his kidnapped bride. She gave birth to twins and died in the struggle.
His father, after losing his one love, lost his mind and went into a deep mourning. He never paid attention to either of his sons. Instead they took care of each other, and never once disturbed their father who was more myth than man at that point.
Then one moonless night tragedy struck. Just as their mother had been taken from her homeland, the past had come to haunt them. A hired thief had infiltrated the Knight Castle and kidnapped Valerius taking him far away to the homeland of his mother. “
After Valerius was kidnapped Cassius was on his own. He grieved more than anyone over his brother’s loss. But before he was allowed to fully wallow in loneliness the pressures of being the new male heir were laid on his shoulders. His father returned somewhat to his senses after the loss of his eldest son and came down on Cassius with a vengeance determined to bring him up to all the Knight standards. Cassius was belittled and disciplined often at home, but finally found his escape in Hogwarts when he received his admissions letter. Once there he was the center of attention because of his money power and pureblood, not to mention looks and charm. He was sorted into Gryffindor and played on the quidditch team. He led a relatively happy normal life with the exception of when he went home. There he was never given the attention he was used to elsewhere except in a negative fashion. His father was more often than not in his study ignoring his son, or lecturing his son on the ways of being a Knight. After he graduated he lived off of the income his estates made quite comfortably doing nothing except socializing, cavorting, and broadening his intelligence and skills out of boredom.
