Niela was sitting around the commonroom, her legs tossed over one arm of the chair she was in, her back and head against the other. A rare thing was going on. A book was in her hands. She must be bored to have resorted to actually studing or even just reading for fun.
Niela groans and tosses the book on the table infront of her and puts a hand over her eyes. Her red hair was shining in the light being cast in from the window. Her finger tapped against her temple. Finally, an exasparated groan existed her lips and she tossed her arms into the air.
"I am SO bored! Something has to be going on. Anything."

(Love the quote in your sig!!)
Chip was in a corner of the common room, listening to a muggle radio that he'd smuggled into the school. He had a pair of earphones on, shutting out the music from the rest of the people in the room, so he wouldn't get caught. It was lucky enough that he was actually able to get radio reception here in the middle of the castle, but he didn't want to have the radio confiscated.
When he heard the voice filtering through his music, he glanced up and looked around the room to see who had spoken. Spotting the redhead with her arms in the air, he hesitated. The only thing he really knew about her was that she had a twin. But he couldn't tell just by looking at her which one she was.
Finally, he nodded and waved over to her. "Hey, come here," he said. "You like muggle music?"

Niela tilted her head back so she was looking at Chip upside down. She then, rather ungracefully, flipped herself out of her chair and moved over to where he was listening to the muggle radio.
"Well, I was raised by my muggle mum, so sure, why not. Whatcha listening to?"
She plopped down in the seat next to him. Chip always entertained her. He was fun and loved music, which she did as well. And he wasn't afraid of muggle items, which made her life easier, as she was raised a muggle.

Chip grinned and handed her one of the ear phones. "It's blues night on my favorite radio station. Actually, it's the only station that I get from here, so it's lucky that they play good music."
Back at home, he had an extensive record collection, and it had been very hard to leave it behind when he came to school. But of course, he couldn't exactly store it in his dorm room. And his record player was really too big to bring along. So it was a relief that he could at least listen to his radio here.

Niela popped the head phones onto her ears, leaning closer to the radio, as if it would help her hear it better. She loved music. She also loved singing and wasn't all that bad at it either. But, even with all the courage that she has that got her into Gryffindor, she still didn't have the courage to sing infront of people. So instead, she just hummed along to the music, quietly.
"What else do you like to listen to?"
She cocked her head towards Chip with a questioning look on her face.

Chip was a big lover of music. He listened to all kinds of music, even classical. There were even a few country tunes he liked, if Johnny Cash counted as country music. Ultimately, Chip was the kind of guy who didn't really believe in the different classifications of music... everything was all the same deep down at its core. It all came from the heart, and aspired to touch one's soul.
"Oh, I like a lot of things," he said. "I like blues, and Motown, R&B, rock & roll... all of it. Long as it's got soul, you know?"

"Personally, I like Steppenwolf. 'Though my favorite song is by Rollin' Stones. Sympathy for the Devil."
She smirks her normal, charming smile as she gets a deviant look to her eye. She gives of a short laugh before looking back at the radio.
"My sister be the one ta listen ta the.. nicer musics."
She nods over to a corner where her twin is seated with a bunch of her friends around her. She shrugs and turns back to Chip.
"She's always bin the more social one..."

Chip shook his head. "Nah, there ain't no such thing as bad music," he replied. "'Cept maybe opera... but you know, if it speaks to you, then it can't be bad. That's how I see it, anyway. I've been known to rock out to a little Alice Cooper once in a while myself. And the Stones are pretty cool. I always liked their song Paint it Black."
He knew there were some people who had a tendency to judge people by the music they liked or the clothes they wore, but Chip wasn't like that. He believed in accepting people for who they were.
Glancing over at Niela's sister--whose name Chip could not remember--he shrugged with disinterest. "No one ever said you had to be social to be cool. You just have to be yourself."
