Narcissa sighed as she sat down on the couch. She picked up some novel she had gotten from her mother. In it, some crazied man was attacking everyone. Narcissa had to admit, it was interesting, although she never read much. She had also found her father's major problem, drinking. Narcissa thought that that's what caused him to be on edge so much. Soon, she got absorbed into her book and everything seemed to disappear, like she was in her own world.

Lucius strolled into the room in an unusually good mood. He'd just caught some Gryffindors snooping around after hours and had given them a particularly stiff detention. One of them had even cried. He spotted Narcissa sitting on one of the couches and he walked over to her and, sweeping his robe dramatically behind him, sat down next to her. "Good evening, Narcissa, you're looking lovely tonight...." he said.

Narcissa finished the page she was reading and looked up to see Lucius. She gave him a smile. "Hey Lucius, and thank you," she said putting a bookmark to save her place. Narcissa closed her book, with bookmark in place, and sat the book down on the table. "How are you tonight? You look quite happy."

"I'm doing quite well, Cissy," Lucius said casually, leaning in to press a kiss on her cheek. "I just harassed a bunch of Gryffindors. You know how I enjoy that. And how are you?"

Narcissa laughed whenever Lucius said he had harassed a bunch of Gryffindors. "I wish I could have been there," she said. "I'm alright I suppose. I'm just reading this book about this crazied killer who goes and kills just about everyone. It's a book I got from my mother. She thought I may like it, which I have to say is actually pretty much interesting."

"Ah, reading for fun. Not something I do often, but that certainly does sound entertaining," Lucius replied. "Listen, I was thinking. How about if I invite your father out to dinner with the two of us this weekend? Perhaps we could go to that new little restaurant in Hogsmeade. I know it's not exactly four star, but I've heard it's not bad... you can hardly expect much more around here." He frowned to show his distaste. "But I thought it might be a good opportunity to discuss my intentions with him. What do you say?"

"That sounds lovely. I'm sure my father will be glad to accept," said Narcissa. "After all, he does think highly of you." Narcissa smiled at Lucius.

"And I respect your father greatly," Lucius said. "I know he is a difficult man, and he hasn't always been kind to you, but I do respect him for what he has accomplished, and for the fact that he raised you." Lucius smiled at her and kissed her hand. "I wish you were older, so I could marry you right away. We'll have to wait a year, though, until you graduate."

Narcissa smiled. "I also hate that I'm a year younger. I'm sure my father will be glad when I get out of the house, as well as Bella," said Narcissa. "I do respect my father, but my sister and I have found the basic roots to his problem, drinking."
