Almost as deceptive as Satan in the Garden of Eden, and twice as handsome, his biggest personality drawback would be that he knows his charms and doesn’t care about his affect on others. Rather he uses every gift he’s been blessed with against anyone who he could gain something from. He’s ruthless, cunning, and cynical. Perhaps at one time he was a good man, but through bloodshed and pain he’s erased that part of himself.
History:
Valerius’ past is complicated to say the least. His father, a wealthy pureblood from England, chose to depart from his homeland and travel the world. He turned his back on his wealth, his family, and his title all for the adventure of the unknown. His travels took him many places, he learned many things, but nothing so life altering as love. He found her somewhere in Macedonia. She was, to her family, a great bargaining chip that would form an alliance with a neighboring family, but to him she was simply a beautiful woman. He kidnapped her in the dead of night and brought her back to his country, to his way of life. While their romance was forbidden and enchanting, strict England rule stifled the flame and beauty of his kidnapped bride. She gave birth to twins and died in the struggle.
His father, after losing his one love, lost his mind and went into a deep mourning. He never paid attention to either of his sons. Instead they took care of each other, and never once disturbed their father who was more myth than man at that point.
Then one moonless night tragedy struck. Just as their mother had been taken from her homeland, the past had come to haunt them. A hired thief had infiltrated the Knight Castle and kidnapped Valerius taking him far away to the homeland of his mother. There he was treated ruthlessly as a slave. He never understood why he was punished worse than the other slaves until his grandfather revealed himself to Valerius and told the story of his father’s crime. Instead of cowering at the man, Valerius all the age of 10 stood tall and challenging. He wasn’t sure what his determination was, but he refused to be broken, he also refused to pay for the sins of his Father and said as much. Strangely his grandfather was proud of him in that moment, it sparked a new interest in the boy and he was no longer punished out of hand. As the years passed Valerius grew strong, he showed promise in several different ways. He befriended those around him with a natural charisma. What should have crushed his spirit, being torn from his homeland, his family, and the cruelty he suffered, actually churned the natural talent inside of him. More time passed and hate turned to love. His grandfather had softened toward him, and he had come to admire the man. They learned from one another, as they had respected one another they grew to care for each other. Valerius became his heir.
But the past wasn’t finished with him yet. The neighboring family, had remained resentful over the years. An all out blood feud erupted between the two families though Valerius’ true identity was never found out. Upon being named heir however, the other family devised a wicked plan. One day as Valerius was roaming the countryside he came across a woman bathing in a small pond. Being the man he was, and quite a charmer, he did nothing to alert her to his presence, but rather watched unashamedly. She was magnificent, and he was in love. He was about to pursue her when several ladies came to assist her. Curious he waited and watched, when she was dressed she left the small pond and he followed. He saw then something he never expected, she was being escorted by guards from the neighboring estate. They called her miss, and he realized that she was the daughter of his rivals. Any relationship with her would be forbidden. He consulted his grandfather immediately, and out of infinite care for his grandson the man suggested a marriage between the two families, one to reconcile everything.
The match was agreed, almost too easily, but beset by happiness Valerius did not think to question it at all. On the eve of his wedding he toasted to his bride and while everyone drank deeply, Valerius was lured to the bridal chamber. Lust fogged his brain and she kept him wildly entertained, so that he did not even hear their screams. In the middle of the night he awoke to men storming in his room. He tried to protect his new wife but was knocked unconscious before he could even see her. Then bound and gagged he was tossed in a dark room, and revived with water. It was his wife’s father, the man his mother should have married, the man who proceeded to tell him of the horror that had happened. Men too drunk to defend themselves, women, and children…all he had known since he had come to the new land, his friends, his family, everything had been destroyed. His grandfather killed in cold blood. All the while each story piercing his heart, his father in law was piercing his flesh, tormenting him to death. At the last moment before he was ready to die he whispered for his wife for fear that something had happened to her. She entered the room perfectly fine, if not a little mussed from their previous activity. It was the last deception, and the most painful. His new wife was no lady, but rather a harlot hired for the part to lure him away, and to help create such a farce. She was paid her thirty silver pieces of silver, before being betrayed herself, she was killed to prevent any chance of his seed taking root. With a final guttural yell of pain he willed his body’s death and blacked out.
When next he awoke he was bandaged and healing, far from where he wished to be. He could not decipher his location exactly. In the corner of the room he saw a woman asleep next to a fire. Her name was Sarabeth and she had saved his life. But his soul died that night, anything good, anything kind, was taken and twisted, he had a thirst for one thing only. Revenge.

A new char to motivate me. He needs a brother, and I have an idea for that storyline or at least one facet of it.
There's more to the history but I'm doing another app for another Char to explain things.
