The weather was decent when Lyra wandered out to the lake without purpose. The sun was out but it wasn't very hot. There were enough clouds out today that made it somewhat cool while still being bright enough that she needed to cover her eyes, depending on her direction. She had thrown her school robes off in exchange for a cool spring dress and cardigan and carried her sandals in her hands as she walked across the lawn.
She was alone today, having left her classmates almost immediately after their last lesson. She didn't want to be indoors any longer and her pale skin was aching for some sun. She continued to move around the edge of the lake, feeling the cool grass with her feet and cursing at the occasional stone if she got too near the sandy edge of the water.

Brenda, meanwhile, had skipped her last lesson, as usual. Daphne was in that class, so she knew that she could bully convince the Hufflepuff to let her copy the notes from the lesson. Not that it mattered. She had just under two months left of school, and she was already looking forward to being through with school. She didn't really even care about her NEWTs... She figured she'd just find a way to get by after school. Maybe find some rich old pureblood and marry him, then have affairs with anyone else who crossed her path, just to keep busy.
At the moment, she was in the Forbidden Forest, and of course, she was not alone. The Gryffindor seventh year that she'd been flirting with in class for a while was with her, and they were... well, it was Brenda. It was pretty obvious to anyone who knew her what they were doing.
And they weren't being quiet about it, either. She let out a loud cry of pleasure, not caring who or what might be nearby to hear.

She stepped on another rock and decided, no matter how good it felt to be barefoot, to put her shoes back on. She moved back to the grassier area and sat down as she slipped her sandals on and buckled them. It was when she was getting up that heard something from the Forbidden Forest. It sounded like nothing that you'd expect to hear in the forest, that is, unless you were a Slytherin. The forest was like 'makeout point' to Slytherins. Fearing those sounds may be the result of Rystain and Lani, Lyra walked in the other direction. But then she stopped. Why should Lani have any sort of privacy? When you're the sort of terrible that Lani was, you didn't deserve it.
Lyra turned on her heel and marched into the woods, ready to 'accidentally' destroy any moments of bliss her enemy might be on her way to. However, it was not Lani Lyra was interrupting. Lyra groaned loudly as she stumbled upon the pair, and quickly turned about. "Honestly Brenda, can't you keep it in your pants for even a minute?" she called behind her as she began to walk back out to the lake.

Brenda didn't even flinch or stop what she was doing when she heard the approaching footsteps in the undergrowth. The guy she was with, however, did duck under the blanket he'd insisted on draping over them, probably out of fear that a professor was approaching. Coward. Weren't Gryffindors supposed to be brave and adventurous? This one certainly was not.
When she saw that it was just Lyra, Brenda laughed. "Jealous much?" she said coldly as Lyra walked away.
A few minutes later, when she and the Gryffindor were both dressed and going their separate ways, Brenda made her way back to the side of the lake int he direction Lyra had gone. She didn't particularly care if the brunette was still there; she just needed a cigarette.
Sure enough, Lyra was still there, and Brenda smirked as she reached into her robe pocket and pulled out a cigarette. "Got a light?"

Lyra had gone back to the lake, trying to shake the horrible images she had just witnessed from her mind. Luckily there were plenty of people out on the lawns now, so she was sitting on the ground simply people watching for a bit. There was a group of Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors chatting down the way from her. And a bit further down there was a couple snogging on a picnic blanket. In the other direction there was a younger Slytherin also sitting alone. Apparently in an attempt to find solidarity on the fact that it was alright to be alone on a day like this, the girl gave a wave and a smile before turning back to her notebook. Lyra disregarded this gesture, and not only just because it was at this moment that Brenda decided to cease her unsettling rendezvous in the woods. Lyra sighed melodramatically and reached into her pocket, finding a lighter and tossing it at Brenda without a second glance.

Brenda laughed coldly as she bent down to pick up the lighter. "Poor Lyra," she said, shaking her head. "Ever since Rystain dumped you for the blonde you just can't stand to see anyone having fun, can you? You poor thing."
Smirking, she lit her cigarette and leaned back against the a tree as she took a puff. "If it's any consolation, Rystain isn't all that great. I'm sure you could do better."

Lyra tried her best not to react to anything Brenda commented on. She wouldn't give her the satisfaction of showing her pain, at least not willingly. As much as she tried she couldn't help but scowl a little as she looked out over the water, the exact opposite direction of where Brenda stood. "Pathetic..." she muttered softly once Brenda had finally shut up. The girl really was a piece of work. And... she thought silently, that Gryffindor didn't look like he was having such a great time anyway.

Brenda bit back a grin as she watched the annoyed way Lyra reacted to her words. She loved annoying people, and Lyra especially. Lyra wasn't all that different from Brenda, really; at least, that was the way that Brenda saw it. Lyra was oversexed and petty at times, just as Brenda was. The biggest difference was that Brenda loved making people hate her. She craved the drama and the attention, so she was nasty to the girls, and sickeningly flirtatious with the boys. One day, she might decide to switch those around, just for the hell of it.
Taking a long drag from her cigarette, she examined Lyra for a moment. "Look, I'm on your side in this," she said, which technically wasn't true. "Rystain's an idiot. Why would he choose that airheaded little bimbo when he could have... you?"
She purposely paused before you, just because she knew it would sarcastic. The truth was, she wasn't on Lyra's side, but she wasn't on Lani's side, either. She really couldn't have cared less either way.
"Besides, Rystain's not really all that good in bed, anyway."
