Dierks knew that Callie could take care of herself on her own. He was just used to the fact of going out with a girl, he paid for whatever they got. It was just something his dad made him learn, but England was a bit different than where he grew up. He was slowly getting used to the idea that the women here were different, especially Callie.
Without a word, Dierks grabbed the tray and followed her to the bench. It was only normal for him to do something and he felt completely out of place if he didn't. Sitting next to her he picked up one of his slices of pizza. After he took a bite of pizza and swallowed it, Dierks looked back to Callie. "This is the best pizza I ever had," he said with a smile. "The sauce is really good."

Callie waited for him to take a bite before she bit into her pizza. She wanted to watch as he tried it and to see the expression on his face. In her opinion, there wasn't much in the world that was better than a really good slice of pizza.
"It is, isn't it? I've always liked their sauce... it's not like any I've ever had. Although, my favorite part is the cheese. I have a confession to make... I am truly passionate about cheese. I swear, I could live on nothing but cheese. Probably not very long, of course..." she added with a laugh. "But at least I'd die happy."

Dierks laughed. "That's true," he agreed. "Cheese is prudy good." He took another bite of pizza. "There's this cheese dip that mama makes every once in awhile. She'll melt Monterrey Jack cheese and add jalapeno peppers to it. It's really good with nachos or even with quesadillas. Sometimes we'll add 'merican cheese, Monterrey Jack cheese, or mozzarella cheese in the quesadillas."
He was enjoying his time with Callie. All it took was a little effort to get her to open up a little and Dierks was glad he took that chance. "I like food in general, so I'll eat almost anything."

"Mmm, quesadillas," Callie said, grinning. "I could totally go for quesadillas now, too... although, pizza's good right now." She laughed, realizing what she must sound like.
"Just to warn you, I'm not one of those girls who's afraid to eat around a guy... That's Linette, not me. I like food, and I'm not ashamed to admit it... I just make sure I exercise and keep in shape. But denying yourself food isn't healthy, especially if you're doing to please someone else."
That was one of the biggest differences between Callie and Linette. Linny was always concerned about appearances and what other people thought, and Callie didn't care at all about those things.

"I like a girl who likes ter eat," Dierks said with a laugh. There was nothing wrong with food. If there was someone else who could share his love of food, then the happier he was. He wouldn't feel bad eating so much if the other person would eat a decent amount of food.
"Maybe we could go fer quesadillas one afternoon or somethin'." Once he finished with his comment, he realized that he was sort of asking her out to eat once again. "The house elves actually do a prudy good job of makin' them down in the kitchens. They do good fer a late night snack when you ferget to do yer homework fer the next day."

Callie felt her face flush with warmth, and her smile was unusually shy. "If I didn't know better, I'd think you just asked me out again," she said in a playful voice. She felt warm inside, and she wished she could share this feeling with her sisters. This day was perfect, and yet not, because she couldn't share it with Bobby and Linny. Linette was off with Chip, which was fine, and Bobby was off with Rabastan, which was not. But she couldn't tell Bobby what to do, and she knew Bobby wouldn't listen to reason. Bobby was not the first girl to be taken in by Rabastan's charming smile, and she certainly wouldn't be the last.
"Somehow, the idea of house elves making quesadillas sounds kind of funny to me," she said. "But I'd love to get quesadillas with you... I don't care where we go."

Although Dierks already realized it, hearing Callie say it, even in a playful tone, caused him to turn a light pink. He gave a smile. "I suppose I am," he said. Dierks wasn't exactly sure how to really go about this whole thing. Sure, he knew that he liked Callie and so far everything was going perfectly fine.
Dierks' smile turned into a small laugh. "Yeah, I suppose it is a funny idea." He felt a little more confident after the fact that she said she didn't care were they went and that she loved to get quesadillas with him.
"We'll go get some of those soon. We could also possibly go to Hogsmeade together the next time we can go."

If some of the people at school could see her now, they would probably tease her. Her entire facade of the "tough" triplet would be completely blown, because she was blushing and smiling like a shy little school girl. She actually took a quick look around, to make sure that Rabastan and Bobby weren't anywhere nearby. If Rabastan Lestrange saw her blushing and giggling, he would surely never let her live it down. She could never let him see any weakness, especially if she intended to threaten him later to stay away from Bobby. Surely that was the only way to keep the git away from her sister.
"I'd like that," she said, smiling at Dierks. "Usually I plan to go with my sisters, and they abandon me at the last minute to go with some guys." She rolled her eyes at this. "Imagine their reaction when I cancel on them to go with you."
