Personality (At least 4 sentences, but longer is preferred): Yvonne is bold and brassy, projecting a tough exterior. But deep down, she’s got a heart of gold. You can hardly blame her for wanting to protect it with a tough, no-nonsense attitude and a mean right hook. Her loud voice, blunt way of speaking, and her tendency to argue with anyone who disagrees may not win her many fans, but to the few people that she calls friends, she is exceedingly, fiercely loyal. Let’s just say she’s definitely a girl you’d rather have on your side than against you.
To her friends, she is warm and loving, and she’s actually great with kids, too. When you need to vent about something, or you need advice, or you just need a shoulder to cry on, she’s there for you. And if you need someone to fight your battles for you, she’ll be right there on the front line.
But for herself, she can actually be rather sensitive. She gets touchy about any perceived insult against her (whether real or imagined). Especially if that insult is about her blood status or her family. She will fight anyone who challenges her and has even spent a little time in Azkaban for fighting. She just wants to be respected or left alone.
History (At least 4 sentences): Yvonne’s father Girard Marquette was a French chef working in America when he fell in love with a brassy Italian-American waitress named Mona. They were an unlikely pair to say the least, but somehow it worked. They got married and moved to England, where Girard opened a restaurant of his own, where Mona worked as a hostess and manager. After three years of trying, she became pregnant with Yvonne, but there were complications. It was a difficult birth, and although Mona and the baby both survived, the doctors recommended that she not have any more children. It didn’t matter, though. They were overjoyed at the tiny little baby with the very loud cry.
No matter how busy the restaurant was, her parents were never too busy for her. They paid attention to her, taught her things, played with her, and she never felt lacking for not having any siblings. In fact, she probably got more attention because she was their only child.
In school, she often got into trouble, though. She was used to getting lots of attention and didn’t like when she felt like she was being ignored. And whenever anyone made fun of her or her parents, she would become enraged. Her parents were the most important people in her life. When she got her Hogwarts letter, she was excited at first, until she realized how much time she would spend away from her parents. She cried and threw a temper tantrum and vowed not to go. Her parents eventually talked her into it, but she was never truly happy.
At Hogwarts, Yvonne was sorted into Gryffindor. Being a muggleborn, however, she often got picked on by mean-spirited students, especially Slytherins. She got a lot of detentions and spent a lot of time in the headmaster’s office for fighting and creating a scene. In her sixth year, it got worse than ever, and after a particularly bad fight in which two Slytherins ended up in the hospital wing with black eyes, broken noses, cracked ribs, and one had a broken arm, Professor Dumbledore had no choice but to expel her. She was secretly glad to be back with her parents, but she also had a vague feeling of having disappointed them.
Still, she got along fairly well, working as a waitress in her parents’ restaurant, and was still allowed to use magic (once she turned 17, anyway, which was only a few months away). For about a year, all was relatively peaceful until one night, walking to her car, Mona was struck and killed by a drunk driver. Both Girard and Yvonne were devastated, and Girard took a tumble into the bottle. A few months later, he died of alcohol poisoning, leaving Yvonne alone. For a while she struggled to keep the restaurant open, but after a year, she had no choice but to sell.
Since then she has been taking waitressing or bartending jobs to get by, but there deep down she is still devastated over the loss of her parents. Her friends are her family and she will do anything for them, but there is a hole that she can never really fill.
RP Sample (At least 4 sentences, must be as the character. Pretend it's your first post): Aww. I feel sad for her.
