It was definitely too frilly for Scarlette, that was for sure. She never cared too much for Puddifoot's, but Ama was young, and not knowing her too well, Scarlette thought that maybe Ama would like the place.
She hoped, anyway, or they were going to get off to a really bad start.
She sent the Ravenclaw girl an owl inviting her to the tea shop on their next Hogsmeade trip, and Amandine said yes. Wanting to be early, Scarlette was already there, having claimed a table by the window so that they could people watch to some extent, as well. Plus, it was in the sun (appearantly, too much sun was bad for pregnant women, something about monitoring body heat and such, but she figured she'd be okay for an hour or two).
When the bell above the door rang, she looked up and let an easy smile grace her lips. "Amandine," she called, catching the girl's attention.

Ama was a little surprised to have gotten a letter from Scarlette, not because she didn't get along with the Gryffindor, but because Ama and Jamie weren't talking right now. Ama wondered if Scarlette knew that. She was sure that she did, which made her more curious about the meeting today at Madame Puddifoots.
She waled in and immediatly saw Scarlette sitting at a table by the window. "Hi there," Ama said with a smile. "this is cute, I've always wanted to come in here, but I always end up going to Hogsmeade with the boys." She took a seat across from Scarlette and smiled at her. "How are you?"

Scarlette gave the younger girl a smile. "Yeah... somehow, I always end up coming here with boys, too." Even before Jamie, who she spent practically all of her time with these days, she always found she made friends with boys easier. They were just a lot more laid back than girls, and Scarlette liked laid back.
"I'm doing really well," she told Ama, being careful to mention nothing pregnancy related. She didn't think that would go over well at all. "How are you? Thank you for coming, by the way. I just feel like I should know you better than I do. Jamie thinks the world of you."
Hey, it didn't hurt to hint about her brother, did it?

Ama raised an eyebrow when Scarlette brought up Jamie. They were no where closer to speaking terms. Ama was stuborn, so was Jamie, hell, their entire family was. But ama knew that it was Jamie who had to make the first move. He was the one to push everyone away, he was going to be the one to pull her back.
After tea with Scarlette of course.
"That's good," Ama said. She liked Scarlette, even if Ama's only seen and met her a couple of times. "I'm doing good, the usual school crazies and stuff," Ama smiled. She wanted despretely to know why Scarlette invited her there. She knew it wasn't just to get to know each other, she had a feeling there was something more.

Scarlette smiled. "Yeah... I know how you feel. I swear, each year just gets more and more crazy. You're probably a lot more attentive to your studies than I am though, so I'm sure you'll be fine."
Of course, she had a little more than the usual school crazies, as Ama called it. So did Jamie. And... because of everything going on with the family, she imagined that Ama had a lot going on outside of school as well.
Scarlette had pretty much abandoned her studies. She still went to class, but the homework was half hearted and she didn't pay attention. She was more concerned with her pregnancy, and the fact that she could just barely make out a bump now... she'd be showing more soon enough and she didn't know how to hide it when the time came.
The waitress (or maybe the owner?) came up to their table and interrupted Scarlette's disturbing thoughts, thank Merlin. She ordered just a cup of tea with lemon, and waited for Ama to order as well.

Ama nodded at what Scarlette said about her studies. Yes, she was a little bit of a gossip and a social butterfly, and she had a lot of friends that she liked to keep up with, but she also had exceedingly good grades. Her parents were always a little surprised to see how much she could juggle it all. Ama didn't really get what the big deal was. She was good at multitasking.
Ama ordered tea with honey (she didn't like lemoon too much, but the sweetness of honey was nice in tea) and smiled politely at the woman who took her order. When she left, Ama turned back to Scarlette. "So how have you been? I've barely seen you since Christmas!"
