This was definitely a change for Hayden. He never really sent an owl to Liam, asking if he wanted to meet him outside of school on the weekend but Hayden was thinking that he should. He and Liam didn't spend a lot of time together while Liam was in school so Hayden felt like it was duty to see if Liam wanted to get away from school for a little bit.
It wasn't a Hogsmeade weekend so the village was a little empty with the exception of the locals. Hayden figured he'd just get Liam to meet him at the Three Broomsticks since it was near the school and he wouldn't have too far to go.
Walking into the Three Broomsticks, Hayden nodded to the barmaid as she greeted him and he took a seat, saying that he was waiting on someone. If Liam wanted to go somewhere else other than here, Hayden would take him wherever he wanted to go.

Liam was a little surprised to see the owl from his brother. He was sort of starting to hate getting contact like this from Hayden. It was always epic. Roland's dead. Roland's alive. There's been an attack. He couldn't help but wonder what today's news would be.
Except that Hayden asked to meet him in Hogsmeade. That was different. The bad news was usually delivered at the school, so maybe it meant that nothing was wrong at all. He hoped.
He left with plenty of time, making his way to Hogsmeade by himself, despite the fact it was frowned upon these days. He didn't want any kind of chauffeur, especially when he was going to meet an Auror.
Arriving at The Three Broomsticks, Liam spotted Hayden easily, and came up to stand next to him.
"Hayden. Everything's okay?"

Their last meetings always had some kind of extreme tone to them but this one did not. The thought didn't occur to Hayden that Liam might think something was wrong until a few moments before his brother appeared. Maybe he should have written in the note that they could go for lunch or something but those thoughts disappeared with Liam's voice.
"Liam," he said looking to his brother. Hayden's usual expression was on his face, but he did crack a smile. "Yeah, everything is okay. Nothing is going on actually. Thought that you might want some kind of excuse to get away from school for a little bit." He gave a shrug. Of course he would have to do this for Sheena as well, but today was about spending time with his brother.
"How is everything on your end?"

Liam gave Hayden one of those knit eyebrow looks, like he was trying to figure out the situation before he jumped into it. It wasn't odd that he invited him out, of course, it was just... well, Liam was just curious. But he shrugged. Hayden was right, and it was nice to have an excuse to leave school, if just for an afternoon. He'd have to thank Hayden for that later.
"Everything's fine. Quiet. No one really says anything anymore." There just seemed to be a quiet overtone to the school since the attack, and it made Liam a little... uneasy.
He took a seat next to Hayden and turned the question around on him. "You?"

"At least you're staying out of trouble," Hayden said with a smile. "It's okay. The same as usual. I spent a day with Sean, T, and Damon the other day. That was interesting." He widened his eyes a little just to illustrate his point. "Other than that, nothing is really going on." Of course, Hayden wasn't going to just spill everything right then. If he did there would be nothing but slience afterword and they would end up just sitting there staring at each other.
"What do you want to do for lunch? It's up to you where we go. We don't have to stay here and eat."

"How are they?" Liam asked, knowing that those three were good friends of his brothers. He'd seen them all on several occasions growing up. Sean was probably the most like Hayden, but the other two were lively and good for his brother. Or so he thought, anyway.
He glanced around the three broomsticks for a second. Hayden wanted him to talk, he could tell, and he scratched the back of his neck. He was never very good at this, but he didn't want to make Hayden do all the work.
"We can eat here. I like their sandwiches."

"They're good. Damon has finally found a job of some sort I think, T is still always in the library, and Sean is still working just as much as usual." Damon, T, Sean, and Hayden were probably an almost odd sort of group of friends. Damon was the loudest and T talked a lot more than Sean and Hayden did. Although, the four of them fit together and brought out different sides of the others.
Although Liam didn't talk as much, like him, Hayden thought it would be good if there was some way he could get him to talk a little more. "We can do that," he said. "Are you hungry now?" Once he looked up the barmaid was already on her way over with two butterbeers.

"You work a lot, too. You and Sean do the same thing, pretty much." Liam was trying to engage in conversation with Hayden. He thought a lot of his words were empty and useless, but maybe they weren't. "What does Damon do?"
He settled down into his seat a little more and followed Hayden's eyes to the barmaid. "Sure," he said, answering Hayden quickly so that they could order from the barmaid when she arrived, and he made a point of thanking the girl for the butterbeers. He looked to Hayden to see if he wanted to order yet.

Hayden nodded and stratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, pretty much," he agreed. It occurred to Hayden that maybe he worked a little too much. He was only home to sleep and if he slept it would be usually on the couch. Of course he knew that if his mother knew about it she would somewhat fuss at him.
"I'm not sure what Damon does exactly." He gave a shrug. "But it's something recent." Feeling pretty hungry, Hayden ordered his usual sandwich. Last night wasn't one of those nights he had much, only left overs from something he had the day before.
While waiting for Liam to make his order, Hayden took a drink of his butterbeer. "So, Liam, is there anywhere specific you want to go after lunch?" He knew that if he took Sheena out she would probably want to go to some sort of shop and it was only right if he asked Liam. Hayden already had a pretty good idea of what his brother was going to say, since they were a lot alike, but maybe there would be a surprise.

"Hopefully he likes it." Damon wasn't exactly knwon for holding down a job, but if he found something he liked, Liam was sure he'd stick with it. Besides, a job would be good for the guy.
He ordered a steak sandwich, and the waitress left them with a pretty smile and a promise of the food being delivered quickly.
When Hayden asked his next question, Liam gave him a deadpanned look and replied, "Shopping?" It was a sarcastic answer, but it was a weird question, in his opinion, and his look eased into a smile. "Maybe we could just go for a walk." Here, he paused again, before thinking and adding, "The fresh air is nice. And it's warming up."

Seeing Liam's deadpanned look, Hayden couldn't help but give a quite laugh. "I didn't know if you needed anything for school," he said. Neither brother shopped often. Hayden only went into a store if he absolutely needed something. "I sort of figured you wouldn't want to go shopping for clothes. That's something moreso Sheena's thing." He gave Liam a teasing glance.
From time to time when it was just the two of them, Hayden would open up and joke around with his brother. "We can walk for awhile. I don't have anywhere to be today."

"You should take Sheena shopping." If she found out that Liam got to spend a day with Hayden and she didn't, Liam rather thought she'd be a little put out. Hayden would probably know this as well, and probably already thought of asking her, but again, Liam was trying to be talkative.
"I don't mind skipping the rest of the day. We can walk."
Their lunch came soon enough, and Liam smiled at the waitress, knowing Hayden would verbally thank her. He looked back to his brother. "How's work?"

"I'm going to come take her out next weekend, but don't tell her that yet. It's going to be a surprise." Hayden smiled. It would be good to give Sheena a surprise of going shopping. Of course he would spend whatever money on her she wanted. That was the good thing about not really getting anything other than what was really needed, there was a good amount of money saved up.
"Somebody's a rebel," he said raising an eyebrow. Hayden meant it as a joke of course. He did verbally thank the waitress as she brought out their lunch.
"Work is work." Hayden gave a shrug. "Things are somewhat quiet right now. Although, I'm not really complaining about it. I don't think I'm going to be sent anywhere for the time being so that'll be good."

"I won't tell her you came to get me, either. She'd be jealous that I went first."
He just gave Hayden a look when his brother called him a rebel, and almost rolled his eyes. He was hardly a rebel. Then again, what was it they said? It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for. Well, at least that meant they didn't have to worry about Sheena.
"Mom'll be happy that you're staying in town for a while. I dunno about you, but she owled me and Sheena every day for a while after Roland.... left."

"I saw her at work almost everyday. Then when I didn't see them or hear from them for a day, I would make sure to owl her to let her know things where okay." Their mother let them go about their own thing but she also made sure she knew that her children were alright.
"I promised her that I would start coming over and eating more often with them when I had the chance. That has settled her worrying for a little while." Everytime Hayden went off for a little while to do something for the Ministry, he couldn't really contact anyone while he was gone. Once he returned however, his mother always made sure she knew he was alright and he knew better than come back to town and not tell her.
Hayden felt there should be a change in subject and he knew that Liam would tell him straight out rather than Sheena. "Has Sheena expressed any interest in anyone," he asked. He felt that he should know these sort of things and while it wouldn't be a long topic, it would just be his way of keeping up with them.

Liam just nodded. Hayden would understand... this was a lot of talking for Liam, who found that he sometimes had to force it. He never really found silences to be uncomfortable, though he understood that others did. He was working on it, anyway. All of the talk about his mother just warranted no response from him. Yes, she was worried, and they were all trying to ease her worry.
His attention perked again when Hayden asked about Sheena, and Liam shook his head. "No." Not even a 'not that I'm aware of.' Liam was fiercely protective of his sister, even if it didn't always seem like it. He let her do her thing, unbothered for the most part, but he kept a very close eye on her. Being in the same house was just enabling, and he didn't see her with anyone. "Amandine has been more interested in boys, lately." His sister came first, but Amandine was family, too. "Jamie's got a girlfriend, though."

There was that silent understanding between the two for Hayden to know the other words that Liam didn't say. In a way it was sort of creepy that they could have that silent connection, but it worked.
Hayden smiled a little. "Well, Sheena won't be too far behind her." That was going to be the day when their sister started to show interest in boys. "And once she does, let me know the details. You know she won't tell anything, the same goes for Amandine." Granted Amandine was going to have enough issues with Jamie, Roland, Cyrus, he was still going to watch out for his family. It was his job to give the females in his family a hard time when it came to the opposite sex.
At the mention of Jamie's girlfriend, Hayden's eyebrows rose a little. "Scarlette, right? Everything going okay for him?"

Liam nodded. He would keep his brother filled in onion whatever he heard from either of the girls. Since he was in Ravenclaw, and closer to their age, he heard more than he thought they even intended for him to know. He was good at knowing things he shouldn't.
"They're fine as far as I know. Attached at the hip But..." he trailed off, wondering if he should repeat what he was thinking. "Jamie keeps telling her to see Madam Pomfrey, and I don't know why."
