Janis has a personality that fits an eldest sibling. She is independent and headstrong, but has very good maternal instincts. She knows how to take charge in a situation, and can be a leader if the situation calls for it. She doesn't take direction well, especially if it's from someone she doesn't care too much for.
She is a natural protector.
She is stubborn, too, though. She has a hard time letting go of anything, being both sentimental, and that she doesn't really know how to forgive and forget, which is a common trait in her family.
History (At least 4 sentences):
Janis was the first born to a pureblood wizarding family. Her mother was practically disowned by her pureblood family for marrying her father who, while a pureblood, was considered a blood traitor.
Janis and her 3 younger sisters grew up in the country, believing all people, half and pureblood, to be equal and without much interaction with either side of their extended family. She has a work ethic and a belief that if you treat people well and work hard, you can do anything.
Her parents, who believed in a firm hand when disciplining their children, seemed to discourage her creative tendencies. She was always writing, and picked up a violin at an early age, taking to it like a fish to water. After that, she began to write music, and eventually entire songs. It remained just a hobby through school.
In school, she met a very outgoing and funloving Hufflepuff boy (HINT HINT) and they married as soon as he became a healer at St Mungos after interning for a couple of years. She doesn't talk to her parents much anymore, but she still feels responsible for each of her siblings and keeps in close contact with them.
