Penny's a trouble teen, as they say. She is fiercely independent and just as stubborn. She is the type of girl that hates to be alone and will surround herself with people, but at the end of the day, she goes home alone. As a young teen, she was angry and lashed out. No one knew how to handle her, and she made enemies left and right.
Sometimes, she still has these tendencies, but she tends to turn her frustrations inward. She really has a heart of gold, and the intentions of a saint. She just doesn't always know how to handle things, and she usually assumes the worst case scenario. She isn't all anger, really. Unless someone knows her well, she seems like a sweet, average girl, though she does have the appearance of a druggie (magical or muggle, she doesn't discriminate). It's only when someone tries to look deeper that she can lash out. When it comes down to it, she just needs someone to intervene.
