So much had happened recently that the date Cyrus and Lina had set for their wedding was overlooked. They had a lot of things to take care of, and Roland's return to celebrate.
But now that things were starting to settle down, it was very much on Lina's mind, and she hoped Cyrus wouldn't have backed out of the commitment by now.
Jensen had taken Mara for the evening, and Lina had cooked a good meal for her and Cyrus- with every intention of asking him if he was ready to set the date- again.
She even curled her hair and wore the black dress he liked, making a special event of the evening and was excited to surprise him. Now all she had to do was wait for him to get home.

Roland's return had taken up a lot of Cyrus' time to focus on the wedding. He knew that they had to set the date, but he didn't mind because there was no way he was backing out and he wasn't going to let Lina think he was. They had both been through too much to not get married, besides, Cyrus wanted more than anything to finally get married to her.
He thought the time to get off work would never get there. Once he left work, he went straight home, glad that there was going to be someone there rather than him walking into an empty apartment.
Arriving home, Cyrus walked through the door and the first thing that greeted him was the smell of dinner. His eyes looked for Lina, and once they found her, Cyrus couldn't stop staring at her. A smile crossed his face. "Wow," was the only thing he could say at first as he approached her and gave her a kiss. "You look amazing. Should I change?" His eyebrows rose and a teasing like smile appeared. He was definitely surprised, that was for sure.

Wow. It was amazing how beautiful that one little word from him could make her feel. She smiled widely, coming close and putting her hands to his cheeks, kissing him. "You don't need to change. I don't think I've dressed up since before Mara was born, and I wanted to look nice for you. I wanted to surprise you." She kissed him again and pulled away just slightly.
"Sit down. I'll pour some wine. How was work?" She turned into the kitchen to get a bottle of wine she had bought just for tonight, while listening aptly for him to tell her about his day. The way he had looked at her when he came in really encouraged her.

"You always look nice," he replied honestly. Cyrus always thought that Lina looked nice, even whenever she thought she looked her worst. "And you did surprise me, big time." His boyish like smile grew wider. The whole situation was surprising. He took a seat at the table. "It was long," he said with a sigh. "I thought that it was never going to reach time to come home." Cyrus leaned back in his chair casually as she walked into the kitchen. "How about yours?"

"Good answer," Lina replied coyly, giving him a soft sort of smile. She loved that boyish smile of his, and even more than that, she loved being able to make him smile. She couldn't do much for him these days, considering that the majority of her time consisted of being with Mara, but she could still aim for the little things.
Lina looked over her shoulder at Cyrus, shrugging a little. "My day was fine. Jensen came over for a little bit this afternoon, and we were playing with Mara before he took her." She came back, two wine glasses in hand, and handed him one.
"I hope dinner's okay... I called your mother to get the recipe."

Times were becoming more dangerous and Cyrus would be lying if he didn't say he didn't worry about Lina and Mara every second of the day when he wasn't there. However, when he came home, that worry seemed to disappear. They were his escape from what was going on out there.
A side smile appeared on his face as Lina said she got the recipe from his mother. It seemed odd that before his mother didn't care too much for Lina, but now she was giving Lina recipes. Cyrus wasn't complaining about that.
"You're cooking it, of course it will not be okay." He raised an eyebrow then winked, "It'll be delicious." He took the glass from Lina and then held his arm out to her as he pushed himself out from the table a little.
"Is it just us tonight?"

It wasn't like Cara had been chatty and overly thrilled to give Lina the recipe, but things were better. And really... wasn't that all Lina could ask for? Mara had her grandparents finally, and as long as her little girl was taken care of, she was happy.
She laughed as he assured her that it would be good, and she shrugged. "We'll see... I did my best."
She took his motions as an invitation, and set herself in his lap, giving him a quick kiss before she clinked their glasses together in a small, wordless toast.
"Yeah, it's just us tonight. Jensen has Mara until tomorrow morning, so we have the. entire. evening." She explained, punctuating her words.

"The entire evening, huh? That sounds like a great time to finally catch up on a little sleep." Cyrus looked at Lina with a teasing glance. A smile crossed his face and he gave her a wink. "I'm only kidding. Tonight, it's all about us together." He leaned in and planted a kiss on her shoulder.
Tonight, Cyrus would do his best to make Lina feel like she was beyond special. He attempted to do that on a daily basis, but tonight he was making more of an effort seeing as it was just the two of them.
One of his arms rested around her waist as she sat in his lap. "What do you suppose we do with this evening alone," he asked with his eyebrows raised.

Lina laughed and playfully shoved his shoulder. "Fine, you can sleep. But you'll be missing out," she told him, winking and giving him a smile like she used to... back when they were two teenagers in love- without a little girl that took all of their energy from them.
"Would I sound overly sentimental if I said I just wanted to be with you tonight? I've missed you... missed us. And believe me... we have all night to do anything we want. Let's just start with dinner?" She leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips. "And we can do anything you want."

"No, you wouldn't sound overly sentimental. That sounds like the perfect night." Just having a night when it was just them was something that they rarely had a chance for; however, Cyrus didn't mind that considering they had a beautiful baby girl. Mara was a reason that pulled everyone back together, and Cyrus wouldn't trade her for the world.
"Maybe we could find a movie sometime after dinner. I'll even wash the dishes." He smiled. Tonight was a night that they needed so that they could focus on themselves. If it wasn't for Lina, or Mara, Cyrus had no idea where he would be and tonight, he was going to make sure that he thanked Lina for everything.

"We can do anything you like," Line assured him. It was obvious to anyone who looked at her just How happy Cyrus made her. Even when things were rocky, she couldn't bring herself to be too afgry with him. He was her better half, the father of her perfect baby girl, the love of her life. He made her smile.
"Just as long as we do it together, okay? Are you ready for dinner?"
