Aurelia wondered if it would be too much change for Dani all at once. Having her mother start dating, when she had never done so before, having a man around all the time, meeting his family.... it could be a lot to take in for a kid. Dani was no ordinary kid, though, and she loved just about everyone.
"I think that would be nice," Aurelia said. "But I do want to take it a little slow.... I don't want to overwhelm Dani too much. But soon. I think she'd really enjoy meeting her."

"Oui, I don't want to rush into everything so quickly. We'll decide for sure everything in good time." Henri smiled at her. He knew that if they rushed anything, the results might not be that good because it would be overwhelming. He wanted to see where they were going. However, he did know that he was slowly falling in love with her again. That wasn't something that wasn't going to change.
"We'll have plenty of time to do whatever together. Like you said, Dani would probably enjoy meeting her sometime. She showed a lot of interest in French things, mon mere would be the perfect person to go to."

It was really even a lot for Aurelia to take in, and even though she knew Dani was pretty adaptable, she still worried about overwhelming the little girl. And of course, if somehow, things didn't work out, Dani would be devastated. Of course, Aurelia would as well, but she didn't worry so much for herself anymore. For the most part, her concerns were all about Dani.
"I'm going to try to explain the situation to Dani, so that she knows... But it's hard to figure out what to tell her. I'm afraid it will only confuse her if I tell her about the memory loss. But she knows something big is going on, and I don't want to leave her out of loop, you know?"
