Tonight, all Ella wanted to do was read. No one had invited her to do anything with them, so she found the next best thing in books. Studying was getting too boring for her, even though she was a Ravenclaw. She needed something with excitement in it, so she settled for a book she found in the library.
After ten minutes, she put her book down and looked around the Common Room, seeing if anyone in there looked friendly enough to talk to. She didn't have many friends, and seeing someone sitting across the room from her was alone, she figured she would go up and try to start a conversation.
"Hello," she said politely, "I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"

Gage hadn't had a lot of time to draw. He'd been studying, and when he wasn't, he was visiting his brother Logan whenever he'd babysit his little sisters, or writing a letter home to his parents and even occasionally Lexie. To keep him even more busy, he, Bek, and Seth were all helping Maxi prepare for the Triwizard Tournament. Needless to say, Gage was happy to find a free moment to sit in a corner of the common room with his sketch book and pencil.
About a half an hour in, Gage had begun to draw the entire common room. But when he looked up, he noticed someone talking to him. "Oh hi," Gage said with a simple smile. "No, not at all, would you like to sit?" Gage asked, scooting over to girl her room.

Ella smiled and sat down next to him, relieved she hadn't bothered him any. "Thanks," she said, and pushed her hair out of her eyes. "I'm Ella." She said with a smile, and glanced down at his sketchbook. She always wished she could draw, but as far as she got was stick figures, and even they weren't that good.
"What are you drawing? It's good," She said, hoping she wasn't prying too much.

"Gage," Gage said with a smile. "Gage Oliver." He always introduced himself the same way. Like his older brother Logan did. They learned it from James Bond, a book they'd read together when Gage was little and they lived in America. Gage did it a little backwards, since his last name and his first name could both be confusing for a stranger.
"Um, I was drawing the common room, I got bored with some of the inaminate objects I was doing earlier." He handed the sketch book, worn and torn, to Ella. "You can look if you like."

Ella smiled and took the sketchbook from him. She flipped through that pages, her smile never leaving her face. He was good, and Ella began to envy him for it.
"They're really good! I only wish I could do something like that. The only thing I'm good at is studying!" She said with a laugh, and handed his sketchbook back.

Gage smiled as he watched Ella flip through the sketch book. Usually he was modest about his drawings, but he didn't mind showing them to people and hearing their reactions.
"Thanks," Gage said. "Yea, I guess I've always loved to draw," he remembered whe he was little, he would get in trouble for coloring on the walls. "Most of my homework assignments have little doodles in the corner and everything too," Gage laughed. His teachers didn't really appreciate it much though.

Ella chuckled as she thought about the teachers grading his things, only to find a drawing in the corners. She'd like finding one, but wasn't sure if the teachers would.
"Do they think they're fun to look at? What do you think? I know I'd get tired of grading papers all the time; I'd like a doodle here and there to make me smile." She said.

"You'd think right," Gage chuckled. "I dunno, maybe its just teachers here, since my teachers back home didn't seem to mind all that much," granted, California is better known for being a tad more...free-spirited.
"So what are you up to Ella?" Gage asked with a smile.

Ella glanced back over to her books and looked back to Gage, a smile on her face. "Well, I was planning on studying, but I don't feel like studying so much." She said with a laugh. It was the first she had ever heard of a Ravenclaw not wanting to study. She was getting tired of it, really; she needed to be more social.
"I'm not doing anything much now, except talking to you. I can leave if you wanted to draw. I don't want to bother you," She said, feeling guilty that she had interrupted him.

"No," Gage said quickly. "No, Ella, you're not interrupting," Gage smiled reassuringly. "i was just drawing 'casue I was kinda bored..." Gage said.
"I never feel like studying," truthfully, most stuff came naturally to Gage, so he didn't have to studdy too much. But even though he had a lot of free time, he only had a handful of friends, he needed to be more social. So when the chance, like these, came for him to make new friends, Gage was all for it.

"I've always liked studying, but some times it gets too hard for me to sit down and focus on it," Ella admitted. Tonight was one of those nights. She thought about being forward and asking Gage to do something with her as a "let's get to know each other" thing, but she decided against it. After all, how did she know if he was going to be doing something in a few minutes, and was just waiting for his friends.
"This is the first time in a while that I've had time to read, but I really want to do something now. None of my friends want to do anything today." She said, hinting at the fact she'd like to go do something with Gage, but without coming right out and saying it.
