Although Trevor infinitely preferred to spend his time in upscale places, drinking expensive alcohol and rubbing elbows with the elite, there were sometimes when he needed to just go somewhere dark and dirty and get something quick and cheap. When the money ran out between deals, he would go to the Hog's Head.
Celia was off somewhere, probably spending more money, and Trevor was hoping to meet up with his friend Talon for a few drinks.
Old Aberforth himself was behind the bar tonight, so Trevor sat down and ordered a bottle of firewhiskey and two glasses, so that he and Talon could share when he arrived.

(YAY! I get to use Aberforth!! haha)
Aberforth knew most of the people who came into his pub. Trevor was not one of his favorite people. He always seemed to criticize the place and the drinks, and pretty much everything else he could think of. And his friend wasn't much better. If Trevor was here, Talon would surely be next. Aberforth smothered a sigh and went off to get his order. As he did, he rolled his eyes. Maybe he would just get the drink and then go out to check on the goats.
"Here you go," he said at last, setting the bottle in front of Trevor, then setting up the two glasses. "There's an empty table over by the window."
If you could call it a window. It was a small rectangle that was so covered with soot and grime that only a small amount of hazy light was able to find its way through. So what if the housekeeping wasn't perfect? Aberforth was proud of his pub. And he didn't care for those who put it down.

Like clock work, Talon walked into The Hog's Head. It never failed that if Trevor was there Talon would follow behind. He didn't mind going into places like this. Of course, he never brought June to a place like this, and maybe that was why he liked it. Things had seemed to be a little rocky, at least in his eyes. Part of him thought that June was changing, but then again it was probably him changing. He never thought about that. It was always her that was doing something, never him.
Seeing his friend, Talon walked up to the bar and clapped Trevor on the back just as Aberforth mentioned there was an empty table near the so called window. He gave a look to Aberforth and then took the second glass. "Hello Trevor," said Talon picking up the bottle of firewhiskey in his other hand. "Apparently we're not wanted at the bar, let's go over to the table." Talon wasn't dumb. He knew that Aberforth didn't really care for them but maybe that was what always brought him back here other than the cheap drinks of course.

"Oi, Talon," Trevor greeted his friend, rolling his eyes at Aberforth's comment. He was also perfectly aware that the man didn't particularly care for them. Although, Aberforth wasn't exactly the most friendly guy in the world, anyway, so maybe it wasn't just them. Aberforth was an odd one, that was sure.
"OK, Abe, we get the message," he said, raising an eyebrow at the old man. "we'll just stay out of your way. Do give our greetings to the goats, will you?"
Carrying his empty glass over to the table, he sat down, and poured himself a glass before leaning back in his chair.
"So, mate, what's new with you? Still with June?"

After Trevor poured his glass, Talon reached over and poured his own. Placing his elbows on the table and leaning on them, he gave Trevor a grin. This was one of the reasons he was still with June. He liked to brag about her.
"Of course," he said. He took a drink from his glass and let his grin fade. "She's got an MLE friend that I'm not too crazy about now though." Talon's look was almost disgusted. "What about you? Still with Celina?"

Trevor arched an eyebrow at Talon. "Celia," he corrected. "And yes, I'm still with her. She looks great on my arm."
It wasn't unusual for Talon to mispronounce Celia's name wrong. In fact, Trevor thought that Talon might have had a block against Celia. Maybe the relationship was unhealthy, but Trevor didn't really care. He kind of enjoyed the fantasy.
"Tell me about this MLE person. Think we should send someone to rough him up a bit?"

"Celia, right, sorry," said Talon with somewhat of a shrug. He was horrible with names, but if he really wanted to remember a name, he could. That was just Talon. With June, he couldn't mistake her friends' names. One, it would cause her to think, and two, he wanted to remember her friends for, various reasons.
"I don't think we should send anyone just yet," Talon said seriously. "If we do, it would seem just a little suspicious. I'm going to try to keep my eye on this guy. I just don't like him and it's not just because he is an MLE. Apparently June really likes him," He rolled his eyes and took a drink from his glass, "because after the dinner we had with her friend that owns the gallery in Hogsmeade and that MLE just so happened to show up, we got into a little argument and she walked out."

Trevor looked thoughtful. He had met June a few times, of course. She was a very friendly sort of girl, with lots of energy. And even though Talon was his friend, sometimes he wondered what a girl like that was doing with Talon. But then, the same question could probably be asked of Celia and himself.
"So you guys fought, did you? Have you tried to make up with her yet? You really should send her some flowers or something, otherwise she's going to run right into the MLE guy's arms."

"I'm giving her a little bit more time to cool off. Whenever she returns, I'll think of something. Maybe the flower thing wouldn't be a bad idea. She likes those." Talon actually had no idea if June really liked flowers or not, but it was worth a shot.
Hearing the rest of Trevor's comment started to raise Talon's anger, after all, he was short tempered. His hand started to tighten around his glass. "She wouldn't do that," he said a little shortly. "She'll come back and everything will be back to normal like always." Talon quickly calmed himself, not wanting to ever make a scene.
"Everything will be back to normal whenever she comes home tonight." He gave Trevor a grin. Talon thought that a change in topic was necessary. "What have you been up to lately? Found anything interesting, other than Celia of course?"

One of Trevor’s greatest strengths was his ability to read people. He could usually tell what people were thinking or feeling, all the things that went unsaid. But sometimes, Talon just confounded him. Trevor couldn’t tell whether or not Talon actually loved the girl, or if he merely wanted to possess her. And sometimes, it seemed like it was neither of those things.
Of course, Trevor was hardly one to talk. He wasn’t entirely sure of his own feelings for Celia. Their relationship had started as a game, but somewhere along the line, things had become confusing. Now, he enjoyed keeping her around, buying her things and saying all those pretty words to her. He kept telling himself that it was all part of the game, and that he liked the way she looked on his arm, wearing all those glittering jewels. But sometimes he wondered if that was really all there was to it.
“Well, I wish you luck with her, mate. I’m telling you, if I were you, I’d buy her something pretty, just to make her feel special for a while. But it’s up to you.”
He took a sip from his drink, while the devilish gleam began to shine in his eyes. “As a matter of fact, I do have a little something up my sleeve…”

Talon wondered about his true feelings for June as well. Sure, he could put on an act and pretend he loved her. He could dote upon her and everything, but did he really love her? In a way it was sort of a possession thing. He liked having her around and he wanted her to follow his rules, but he knew that June was headstrong. Talon was slowly attempting to put a tighter hold on her. He wasn't sure how it was going to work, but he wanted all of her.
"I've already bought her something," he said with a smile. Of course, he would stop and by her flowers. When he gave them to her before, June acted as if she liked them. So, maybe she did really like them.
All talk left the topic and switched over to something else that was interesting. Talon raised a brow. "Something up your sleeve eh," he said interested. "And what would that something be?"

Trevor’s smile grew and he paused to take a drink from his glass. He was always looking for different angles, people he could con or trick, and if he got a little money out of it, so much the better. Besides his connection with Pavel and his father, he had come up with another idea, that he was pretty sure was one of his best.
“Since the hogsmeade attack,” he began slowly, “there have been a lot of citizens who feel helpless and would like to learn how to defend themselves and their families. I’m going to start a club to teach them dark magic—for a fee, of course—with the promise that they can use it for protection. But as you know, dark magic leads to power, and power corrupts. I can turn these so-called innocents against themselves before they have time to realize what is happening.”
