(*Curiosity. I changed it. Not boredom, lmao. I must have been dying of boredom at work.)
"You don't know me well enough yet, but I'm way too curious to have secrets dangled in front of me. It's kind of mean of you," June teased him.
She looked at him, taking in his smile and the way he leaned forward, and she was struck again just how nice he was. It was people like him that kept her having faith in people in general.
"I'm not starving, but I could eat. I just really want to get to the surprise part," she told Brady with a laugh, getting to her feet as well.

(I didn't even realize it... haha)
"Well, I know one way to get to you then," Brady said with a light mysterious tone. June was one of the few people that Brady talked to. The people at work probably wouldn't really believe that he talked a whole lot but it was around certain people that he did.
"Someone is extremely impatient. This fact now makes me want to take my time to eat just to make you more antsy." Brady laughed. He liked teasing June. It was good to see her laugh. She looked like she didn't get to too terribly often.

"I'm not usually the type of girl that takes no for an answer. I'm being nice to you." June narrowed her eyes, but there was a playful tone to her voice, and she couldn't hold the serious look for long. She smiled.
"You're a terrible person. I hope you understand that." She was still teasing him back of course, and she let out an exaggerated sigh. "You don't know me very well. I don't mean that. But really... come on. I'm anxious."

Brady placed a hand over his heart. "I know, I'm a terrible person. I don't let you in on the surprises. I like to make you antsy because I like to see you look excited and looking forward to something." A playful smile spread across his lips.
"I can tell you, however, that it is something for your birthday." Brady led her toward the resturant in mind. Once they were there, he opened the door for her. "You'll like it, that's for sure."
Once they were seated at their table, Brady whispered to the waiter that it was June's birthday and he wanted them to sing to her after their meal. The waiter nodded and walked away. "You can get anything you want, with the exception of knowing my surprise," he said looking down to the menu.

"Ahh, you're smart. That's the very thing I was going to ask for... knowing what the surprise was. You have me all figured out, sir."
June was, admittedly, an easy girl to figure out. She didn't mind this either- there was nothing wrong with being simple. She knew what she wanted, she went for it, she hated surprises, she loved to laugh. The end.
She peered at him over the top of her menu. "What do you usually get?" she asked, always one who was willing to try something new.

"I usually go for either the pasta with meat sauce, the burger, or hamburger steak." Brady's eyes skimmed over the menu then looked to June. "I think I'm going with the pasta with meat sauce today, however." He smiled.
This was different for Brady. Rarely did Brady go out with anyone. The last time he went out was for lunch with a few of the guys at lunch and that had been a few weeks ago. This was a first that he had really been out to lunch with the opposite sex in awhile, even if they were just friends. Surprisingly, he didn't feel out of his element at all sitting at the same table with June.

June's eyes widened playfully. "Wow... such a carnivore," she teased him. Then again, most men were, she reasoned. Talon loved a good steak.
She nodded at his choice and looked over the menu some more before she closed it. She would have gone with the same as him, but pasta just seemed a little bland for her today.
When the waitress came over, she ordered a mediterranian wrap, and looked to Brady to let him make his own order.
June was well within her element here. Brady was a sweetheart and she genuinely liked him, and Merlin knew the girl would make friends with anybody.
"So tell me more about yourself, Brady. Or I'm just going to keep bugging you about the surprise."

"I suppose I am," he said with a laugh.
Brady made his order and then looked at June. "More about me?" There wasn't a question he was asked often. He knew that if he didn't amuse her, she would try to figure out where he was taking her after they ate. It wasn't exactly anywhere special, it was just somewhere to get something she said she had wanted.
He didn't ever talk about himself so he wasn't sure what to say. "It's just me," Brady said with a shrug. Both of his parents died a while back, so it really was just him but that wasn't a story people knew. "I work whenever I can and just take things as they come." He was a somewhat laid back person but then again it could dpend on the situation.
"What about you June?"

June shook her head and almost laughed. "No.... you're cheating. That didn't really tell me anything about you at all. Not that I didn't already know."
She leaned back in her seat and shrugged, though she was still all smiles. "I'm a pretty open book... most people can figure me out right away. I'm okay with that too, you know? I don't have anything to hide. And you already know all of the important things... I work in the Ministry, I love my boyfriend, I love to laugh, and I hate when people keep secrets from me. And I laugh too loud. That's me."
