((I know the dinner thread isn't done yet, but I couldn't help myself))
Later that night, after they said goodbye to Virginia and Brady, June went home with Talon. She should have been angry with him for making things so awkward, and she was already planning on apologizing to Brady in the office when Monday came around. But right now, she had to worry about Talon. And instead of being angry, June was just trying to make everything right, to make him feel better.
As June took off her jacket, she sighed. "I wish you'd say something," she finally told him. "I hate it when you're so quiet."

Talon didn't like dinner at all. It was different enough that June's friend Virginia joined them, but then she had to go invite some guy to join them as well. Talon couldn't help but be jealous. It did bother him that June had guy friends, however, he did know that he could not just tell her that she had to stop having guy friends. That wouldn't do any good because June had a mind of her own. Maybe that was what bothered him most. He couldn't really control June, but he could do his best to.
He took his jacket off and placed it by the door. "What am I supposed to say? I had fun? That we should all do it again?"

June sighed. If she had been unsure if Talon was angry before, she had no doubts now. She just didn;t have it in her to be angry with him, even if she had every right to. All she wanted to do was make him less angry with her.
"You know, I don't understand what the problem is. He was nice the entire time, and the only reason that it wasn't 'fun' was because you were making it awkward."
She knew this would most likely start an arguement, and she really hated fighting with him. But sometimes, he was so difficult that she didn't know what else to do.

"I was making it awkward," he asked as he turned to look at her. "Well, I wasn't expecting that you were going to invite someone else over. Plus, there's something about that man that I don't like." Of course the reason that he didn't like the guy was because he was friends with June.
"He gives off a weird feeling. Also, the whole idea of going out to eat was your idea. I would have been perfectly happy if we had just stayed in but you wanted to go have dinner with your friend Virginia. I didn't really have a problem with that because I know you haven't seen her in awhile. It would be nice if you ask me about someone else joining us before you actually ask the person."

"You didn't have to come. Excuse me for wanting to show off my boyfriend," June replied when he threw it in her face that the whole thing had been her idea, anyway. Truthfully, all she wanted to do was introduce her boyfriend to her best friend, and Brady just... happened to be there. And she liked Brady a lot. Contrary to what Talon said, he didn't give off any kind of weird vibe, and he a sweetheart.
She took a deep breath before calming herself down. She hated yelling at Talon. Hated it worse when he yelled back.
"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't think it was going to be an issue. I figured it was already a dinner for friends, so there was no harm in inviting one more over. Next time, I'll just go with Virginia and you can stay home. I won't drag you anymore."

June's comeback made his jaw tightened. She had a lot of guts for talking back to him. Talon couldn't help the fact that he reached out and took a hold of her arm. He never had been violent with June, but he couldn't help it whenever they argued that he reached out and grabbed her arm. Once before he had grabbed her a little too hard, but right now he wasn't thinking about what had happened before. He was thinking about what happened recently.
Talon knew better than to just start accusing June of anything because she would more than likely just leave and he couldn't have that. "You don't have to talk to me like that," he said. "I was just telling you that it would be nice if you would let me know if someone is going to join us for dinner so I know what to expect. I didn't have a problem with eating with your friend, it was just the other one that bothered me."
At her last words, Talon's eyes narrowed slightly and his hold on her arm tightened a little. "I don't mind going out with you, you know that."

June stopped when he grabbed her arm. It was probably only because he never had been violent with her that she let him get away with this. The one time he had grabbed her a bit too roughly, she gently told him to let go and he did. He was a gentle giant in her eyes, even in moments like this.
But it was moment like this that told her he was definitely not happy.
"I'm sorry," she said again, softly. "I'll think next time, okay? I didn't expect to see him there, or I would have asked ahead of time."
He didn't have to accuse her of anything... she knew the reason he hated most of her friends, They were all men. "Hey... please trust me, okay? He's just a friend."

For a few more moments, Talon still had a tight hold on her arm. He was searching her face attempting to calm himself. He knew that he had to keep his anger in check because he didn't ever want to actually physically hurt June. Sometimes his anger would get the best of him and he just couldn't hold it back. Although, he was fairly decent about keeping his temper down.
"Good, because you know I don't really like those kinds of surprises." Talon had never been one that liked surprises, even whenever he was little. He finally let go of June's arm slowly. "It's not you that I don't trust," he said moving the arm that had held her arm to her cheek.
Sometimes, he wasn't sure if he really trusted June either. She had a lot of guy friends and well, one couldn't help but wonder, however, June hadn't really given him a reason to distrust her. She had proven to be faithful so far, but he just didn't trust her male friends.

"I know you don't," she replied softly, staying still and holding eye contact while he searched her face.
"If you trust me, Talon, you can trust my judgement, too," she told him, raising her eyebrows a little. "I'm never going to put myself in a position that would compromise what I have with you. You know that."
She leaned into his touch, smiling, and then leaned forward and kissed him lightly, her lips barely touching his. "Tell me you forgive me."

To Talon, June put herself in a compromise every day. She had majority guy friends, and Talon knew that sometimes men could be forceful. No matter how much assurance June gave him, Talon still wouldn't trust the men.
"You are forgiven," he said with no emotion to his voice. He had never been one to show a lot of emotions. Talon leaned in and kissed her quickly, leaving her no time to respond. He let the hand on her cheek fall as he turned to walk over to the couch to take a seat.

June sighed, her eyes going a little distant as he turned and walked away. 'I forgive you' and 'you are forgiven' were two completely different things, and it didn't make her feel better the way he had said it. Not that she wasn't used to the way he often said things, but it still hurt.
"Talon, sweetie," she said, still trying to get him to give her any kind of reaction. Sometimes, she wondered if he still loved her, or if just kept her around because he knew she had nowhere else to go. "You're still unhappy. Come on, let me make it up to you."

Talon wasn't even sure if he ever felt like he loved June. He didn't mind being with her. She could be a lot of fun, but he didn't think he actually loved her. Love was just an emotion that he wasn't sure he could ever feel. He didn't know what he felt with her and he had gotten used to the fact that he could just throw the word 'love' around.
He stretched his legs out after he took a seat on the couch. Hearing her offer sounded inviting, but he lost all 'in the mood' feelings at dinner. Talon grabbed the remote control for the television and turned it on. "I'm fine," he answered.

June stayed still, watching him as he practically ignored her. She could keep trying to get on his good side, keep trying to butter him up as it were. In fact, she knew she had one little outfit that he had never ignored thus far... but then, she didn't want to give him the chance to ignore it or turn it down tonight.
Which left her with her second option, and that was to get him angrier.
"I'm going back out," she said, turning and reaching for her coat.

It was the best thing that Talon could do. Ignoring June for the moment was in her best interest, as for his. Right now, he was trying to calm himself down and it was for the best if she just went off and do her own thing. He didn't want to be abusive toward her. After all, where would she have to go if he wasn't there to have a place to give her to stay? Sure, he was being pretty nice by not just telling her to leave, but there was also that sense of that she was his that he felt. Maybe it was bad that he felt like she was pretty much his and no one else's. Talon was very possessive, however, he knew better than to let that just show through all at once.
"Don't be gone too late," he toward her with his voice even as he didn't even bother to turn around. By the time she came back, Talon would be calmed down and he would make up his ignoring her to her.

"Don't wait up for me," June replied, her tone clearly angry. That hadn't gone at all like she wanted it to. She would have been happier if he got angry. At least then he'd be focusing on her. She hated it when he ignored her or acted like he just didn't care. Threatening to leave had just been an attempt at getting his attention, but he went with it. Well, if that was the case, maybe she wouldn't come home at all tonight. Let him worry about her.
She slipped her coat on, already not knowing where she was going to go. Maybe she would just go to the office and get some work done.
She said nothing else as she let the door slam behind her.
