Aly looked around, and only saw the lake itself. She walked slowly near the edge, and looked into the dark water. She didn't see much of a reflection, for the clouds had started to come in, but the look in her eyes gave away her thoughts.
Yes, she didn't intend for him to come to Hogwarts, same as her. But yet she couldn't help the old feeling of their closeness seep back into her bones. Shaking her head she sat crossed-legged on the ground, and propped her chin on the palm of her hand. Her eyes glanced around the lake, her thoughts churning.

Aaron had walked down to the lake earlier and had climbed the nearby tree and fallen asleep in it as he watched the lake and thought. A little while later, when he heard a girl walking around by the lake, he woke up and was surprised to see that it was getting quite a bit darker and the sun was beginning to set. "Oh, hello..." Aaron said, getting down from the tree and walking over to the girl, whom he had never seen at the school before.
He figured that maybe she was new. But she even looked close to his age, much less a first year. "I didn't mean to fall asleep up there." He told her, chuckling a little bit. "I don't think we've met before. I'm Aaron Holmes- sixth year Hufflepuff." He introduced himself politely.

"Hello," Aly got up from sitting on the ground. She smiled, "I'm Aly Graham, sixth year Ravenclaw. I, I hope I didn't startle you."

"Nah, I'm fine. Frankly, the fact that I just fell asleep in a tree kind of startles me more, actually." Aaron replied, grinning. He held out his hand for her to shake. "So you're a sixth year, too? We're you transferred or something? I just don't recall seeing you around here before." He said, thinking hard and scratching his head. "I don't know. Sometimes I'm just really bad at paying attention to these kind of things, no offense to you or anything."

"On a day like this, I'm sure I would be able to fall asleep in a tree," Aly laughed and shook his hand, "none taken. I try to stay in the shadows a lot."

"Ah, OK. That might explain it then." Aaron nodded, smiling at her as he shook her hand. He pulled his hand back and looked out at the glistening lake, displaying the reflection of the setting sun. "You seemed pretty...uh...immersed in whatever you were thinking about." He commented in a nonchalant manner. "What's going on?" He asked, curiously. "If you don't mind me asking, that is..."

Aly chuckled lightly, then thought a moment before answering, "I, well.... I've been avoiding this guy for awhile now, and...." she avoided his eyes, and said in a low voice, "don't ask why, but I can't stop thinking about him. I hate him, I seriously do. He hurt me, and...." she looked at the clouds, "I'm afraid that'll I'll do something harmful to his health."
She stood there a few seconds, thinking about what she just said. "I don't even know why I'm spilling my guts to someone I just met."

"Eh...sometimes that's the easiest way to do it, I guess." Aaron shrugged. "Well, this is going to sound really stupid, but...maybe you should just talk to him? That's always the best way to sort things out." He grinned. "Of course, that would mean taking advice from a strange kid who you've just met. And its not like I've been in similar situations, but like I said- talking is the only way to get things resolved." He suggested. He felt strange as well- randomly giving out advice to random problems involving someone he had just met.

She shifted, feeling uncomfortable about what she said earlier. "Probably," Aly bit her lip, then muttered, "it's not like we weren't friends for four years."
After a moment, she smiled meekly, "thanks. I guess we'll be seeing eachother around Hogwarts more, huh?"

"Yeah, hopefully." Aaron said, smiling slightly. "I could use some friends who are at least even partially sane. Just the other day, I spent the end of term feast talking to Gilderoy Lockhart. And I don't know if you've met him or not, but he is practically the definition of insane, let me tell you." He chuckled a little bit.

Aly giggled, "I haven't met him, but I know exactly what you mean."
