Feeling rather lighthearted for a Friday night, and all of her deadlines met, Bella suddenly had the urge to let loose. She hadn't so in quite some time, her tensions level a bit higher than usual. She needed a night of drinking and dancing in a very desperate way. She was single, with no prospects of a man in her life, so what harm could it do?
After a luxurious shower and many pampering spells, Bella stepped out of her apartment looking quite glamorous. Her long graceful legs were showing tonight, a red dress hugged her waist line and flowed out gracefully. The fabric seemed to dance for her, and although her complexion was fair, the red seemed to do a fine job at not making her appear washed out.
Her red satin heels clicked on the cobblestone leading up to the nightclub she had heard so much about, but yet to experience herself. She offered a flirty smile to the doorman and he quickly removed the red satin guard blocking her entrance.
Upon stepping inside she was a bit taken aback at the dimness for the room. Lights were flashing around the dance floor of course, couples and singles alike gyrating to the music. She smiled as she approached the bar, ordering a shot of firewhisky and a pitcher of butterbeer. She quickly downed the shot and proceeded to a table with her pitcher and mug in hand. She poured herself a mug, took a long swig, and set it back down on the table. It was time to dance!
When she reached the floor she found that a slow sultry song had come on, her body naturally beginning to sway to the music. She didn't mind dancing alone, for she was just here to have fun and let loose for herself, but she desperately hoped in the back of her mind that she would have a partner before too much longer.

Landis had wandered in nearly two hours ago. A half witted smile sat across his face as he watched the crowds move. More than a few times he had got up to dance with a few of the ladies who ventured toward him, but most moved on after a while with him, as he seemed more interested in the music and his bitter than he was with them. That of course wasn't completely true. The night was young for him, and he just wasn't ready to settle down yet. The young Mr. Ridley was not one for jumping at the first opportunity, he was a big catch kind of fellow, and he had yet to find that catch as of yet.
More often than not he went home empty handed, but it never bothered him, he always had a good time, even if the fish in the sea had slipped by him. That was just how he was. It wasn't really a bad thing. He just was greatly indifferent to much of his surroundings. It was that Ataraxia of his that did it. Things happened, and thats how it went, he just sort of flowed along with it.
Someone did eventually catch his eye. She was quite a looker in a red dress. Normally he waited for them to notice him, but he had the feeling that if there was a catch of the day, that it was that particular flower dancing in the wind.
With the same half, lopsided smile, he walked toward her slowly, avoiding the moving couples in a haphazardly fashion. As he drew near, the smiles widened into something much more appealing.
The idea of calling to her was interesting, but quite as fun as dancing up to her. So he slowly began to weave and move along to the music, moving closer to her with his dandy smile displayed on his face.

Bella had been dancing for quite some time, and had made a few stops to replenish her need for liquid, but had currently moved back to the dance floor to get it all out. She didn't know how or why this was as exhilerating as it was but she couldn't get enough of it. She danced on until she noticed a man moving her way with a smile on his face. She wasn't sure if the man had noticed her and was coming for her alone or if he would stop short at another lady's side and dance the night away with her. She didn't particularly mind at this point. If he chose to dance with her then so be it. If not, then perhaps she would find herself another dancing partner.
Her hips swayed seductively to the music and she threw the man heading in her direction a smile, almost as if she were daring him to come dance with her. She would accept if asked of course. No need in wasting an entire evening. He was quite cute honestly. . Had she seen him before? Did she already know his name? She thought not. Surely she would have recognized that.

When she turned back and smiled at him, he was pretty sure his heart skipped a few beats. If he had any misgivings about her before, they had already disappeared. Her smile broke them, and her hips swept them away as the swayed back and forth. The woman was something else for sure. With any luck, she might be worth a bit of conversation and a couple of drinks. With a lot of luck, maybe something more. But that wasn't Landis' sort of luck. His tended toward surviving no matter what with a sheepish grin.
Moving closer, he moved close behind her and asked, "Is this spot taken? It looks like the best spot in town," with a half smile spread over his face. His eyes danced as he looked at her. Something else for sure.
Curiosity overwhelmed him about her, but he preferred not to ask too many question, just sort of caused trouble for him. Although he was looking for a little trouble tonight, that wasn't the particular trouble his mind was interested.
Even without her permission he continued dancing, although at a safe enough distance that she could turn and join if she so felt inclined to.

Bella had been dancing rather seductively, and she was sure it would've caught someone's attention eventually, and she was right. It was a rather good looking man. She didn't know his name, but that didn't matter to her. As long as she could dance. When he asked if the spot was taken, the best looking spot in town, she laughed and shook her head no. She was more than welcome to dance with him.
"I'm Bella," she said, smiling brightly. "And you?," she asked, still swaying to the music, moving closer to him and staring up at him through hooded eyes. She didn't exactly know what to say or do in a situation like this due to the simple fact that she never got an opportunity like this. Her life was all about deadlines and meeting the Daily Prophet's criteria. She didn't even get to write about what she wanted most of the time and it drove her insane. At least he could dance though. That was all she could focus on now. The music and him. It almost felt as if no one else was in the room. . Weird. .

He smiled, Belle, that was original, at least to him, it was a name he hadn't heard in years, well a couple of years at least. As she talked, he still danced along with her, nothing exotic, just simple, and suited to the mood.
"Well Belle, I am Landis, and quite a fan of your dancing," he replied with a half sided smile.
His eyes stayed on her face, although with the way she had been dancing, it took a conscious effort. However his reputation might have been, he was no pig, and a lovely girl like Belle didn't deserve to be treated as anything less than she was, and for the moment, that was a dance partner.
"I'm surprised to find you alone out here, you have a lot going for you, especially with that smile of yours," he said, making conversation as they danced. Of course while doing so he had to get just a little bit closer. This was so she could properly hear him over the music, probably.
Even in conversation he kept dancing, her body drawing him in like a bright lit tavern to a tired and cold traveler. He had to so she stuck out in this crowd for sure, but even with her charming smile, and elegant looks, and especially her rather interestingly cut dress, something about her seemed to make her look slightly out of place. Not that he cared, out of place or not, he was the sort of person that fit in everywhere. Of course it helped when you could afford to do so.
Curiosity overwhelmed him about her suddenly, but instead he simply danced with her, close enough to be engaged by her scent, but far enough to avoid making her discomforted. It was a strange science, dancing with strangers that is, but he had enough practice during his years in school, and especially since those days gone now when he was out of school. It wasn't hard to go out and have a good time when you had the money to not need a job. Of course he needed to find one soon, just something to fill his free time.
It was a strange line of thought, but his mind quickly returned to her as he watched her dance. It was simply entrancing for him. The way a woman could move could mesmerize instantly, and by the looks of it, she wasn't holding back any of its power, whether she realized it or not.

Bella released a whole hearted laugh when Landis informed her he really enjoyed her dancing. "Funny thing is I don't do this very often," she revealed sheepishly. She glanced at her feet for a moment before returning her gaze back to his eyes. "So what exactly are you doing here? Looking to pick up innocent young women?," she asked, a playful tone in her voice.
He didn't exactly seem like the type to be a jerk, but you couldn't tell upon first impressions these days. You could have the greatest conversation with a mass murderer and never know his profession!
She attempted to grab for his shirt, wanting to head to the table for a drink. "Too much dancing, I need to sit and drink," she said with a laugh.

Landis returned the smile and replied "I wouldn't have guessed truthfully, too many mornings dancing in front of the mirror perhaps?" he chuckled, although it hadn't really been loud enough to be hear in the crowd, but the action of it was easily able to be seen.
"Me? Never! Okay, well perhaps I had just that sort of intention, but can you really blame a guy for being male? Of course then again, sometimes the noise is just nice, and I can't resist dancing with a beautiful lady such as yourself."
He followed her, tonight if he was invited, he would follow anywhere those hips swayed. Didn't hurt that her eyes drew him in like gold.
"Lil darlin, you couldn't stop me with the whole Ministry from having a drink with you!" he laughed as he said it. It was a hearty laugh, something he tended only to do after a few drinks, and he was quite at that point. Then again he had some ways to go before he had to worry, especially with the watered down stuff they served here. Wasn't like his Uncle's private stock. Now that stuff made your weekend ino something unreal.
