It hadn't been long since the murder of his least favorite reporter, Bambi Ackart, and security at the Daily Prophet was high. It was a bit annoying, to say the last. He wasn't allowed to stay late unless there was another person staying late with him. The buddy system, they had called it. As if he couldn't fend for himself...
There was a small group of people who had stayed later tonight, though most of them were leaving now. He poked his head out of his office to see who was going home, and if he would be forced to leave because they all were going. He caught sight of Isabella and called her over. "Not leaving yet, are you?" He gave her a dashing smile, hoping to entice her to stay a while, despite no one else being there.

Bella had been standing by a water cooler, 'the water hole' she and a few others had dubbed it seeing as how most people would gather and do a little chit chatting in between stories. Her thoughts were on the story she had waiting at her desk until her attention was stolen by none other than Aramis. She gave him an acknowledging smile and padded over to where he was standing.
"Can I help you?," she said in a mock tone, knowing he would laugh for certain. When he asked if she was staying longer, she nodded firmly, understanding he was hoping she would be his other half when the buddy system rule came into effect.
"Yes, we can be battle buddies if that's what you are asking," she said with a laugh.

He did laugh, knowing it was expected of him here. He was supposed to be the "fun boss". That's how he would get to her. He was Prince Charming and she was his Snow White. Or so he would have her think. "I'd like that," he replied. "Are you working on anything at the moment?" He looked over at her desk, knowing she was always working on something. "I really just don't want to go home right now," he confessed.

Bella smiled gently when he stated he would like to be her battle buddy. Although he was still quite the good-looking boss, his effect as far as making her blush like a school girl had lessened, but not completely perished. There were still times when he gave a certain look that nearly made her lose it.
When he asked if she was currently working on anything she could do nothing but roll her eyes at first. "Yes, unfortunately I am completely swamped in garbage. Not literally of course, but some of the things they are wanting me to write about are ridiculous. With all of the murders and attacks going on, I would love to be working on something of that calibur," she expressed rather animatedly, then a flush crept up her chest and into her face, a strong contrast from her white dress, cherries printed across the material.
"Sorry, I get a bit passionate about these things at times," she offered with a laugh, finally settling for a small smile.

He kept a smile on his face as she rambled on about her desires for her career. He knew, from the first moment he met her, that she was ambitious. Her eyes twinkled as she spoke of her work and that luster hadn't faded in the few months he'd known her. In fact, it appeared to have grown despite the fact that she had been denied the stories she hoped for. As she shut herself up, Aramis chuckled. "Well we couldn't very well put our more attractive writers in danger. Better to keep you lot busied with the puff pieces." He took a step backwards and opened his office door wide. "Please, sit."

Bella laughed and shook her head. "I wouldn't mind the danger! That's just it! I would love to be right in the thick of it!," she exclaimed, really almost wanting to give him a piece of her mind at this point. It was exhausting trying to prove to everyone that she could in fact do a good job. They knew she had the skills and the experience, yet she was stuck writing about weddings and things that held no interest to her whatsoever. She knew what she had to do. She had to be bold, and find her story. The story that would crack everything and help her break into her career the way she had always wanted to but never felt she had the chance.
"I'm telling you Aramis, at one point or another I will get fed up with doing these remedial stories. They aren't challenging me enough. I can do better than this, if a chance would just be given to me!"
