Noah had returned to school after the news about his father. He was still a bit hurt from Mathieu's accustions and a little lost by the absence of his father, but he had returned to the usual sarcastic self. He had gone on to ignore anyone who was in the Ferrera family, including his brother. Nothing seemed to faze Noah anymore, although he seemed to care more about his schoolwork than he had. Suddenly, after Blake's passing, Noah had the need to be a perfect son, someone who Blake would be proud to have as a son.
At the moment, he was doing an essay on potions in the common room quietly.

Leann walked down the steps into the common room with her books in her arms. She was supposed to be working on a potions assignment as well but she had planned on putting it off as much as possible. She danced into the room, her light colored hair flowing behind her and her skirt bounced with each step. She noticed when she arrived in the room that someone was already in there. She had been hoping that she could get some alone time. She does her school work better when she was alone and without distractions. She would go upstairs but she knew her room mate was napping and...well, she snored. She sighed and decided to join the guy on the couch. She sat down and opened her potions book in her lap.
She glanced over at him curiously, her distraction from her work already setting in. He looked vaugely familuar but they hadn't yet met. She decided to introduced herself after a moment and cleared her throat.
"Hey." She began. "I'm Leann. Or...Lea, actually." She added, greeting him in a kind but hard voice.

A girl addressed him right in the middle of a sentence. He stopped writing, but held his pen over the parchment and kept his eyes on his paper. No one had spoken to him directly over the past two days, and he preferred it that way. At first, he thought it might be someone who would try and say something that he didn't want to hear, about his family or anything that might head in that direction.
But when the feminine voice introduced herself, Noah was genuinely surprised. He was under the impression that he knew most everyone in Slytherin. But when his eyes traveled up to the girl's frame, he realized he was mistaken. Thsi girl was pretty, and her eyes were almost shocking. Noah blinked once, keeping his face calm.
"Which do you prefer?" he asked before finishing his sentence, and continued to write.

Leann was a little surprised when he responded. She wasn't sure what to expect from him and was pleased to hear a reply that sounded at least half way interested. She took note that he was cute, had beautiful blonde hair, and looked well built. She could almost tell that he was a Malfoy just by the way he looked but also because she was pretty sure she'd seen him around. She smiled lightly and shrugged.
"I prefer Lea, actually. Leann was my grandmother's name." She said with a smirk and tucked her legs under her so she was sitting on them. "So, what's your name?" She asked curiously. It was part curiousity and part just finding conversation.

Noah didn't stop writing. Would his father had given up even if someone had interupted him? Blake was vigilant, and Noah intended to be the same. Despite not looking back at her, Noah decided to carry on the conversation anyway. To justify going againt his concentration and what he believed to be his father's will, Noah manged to convince himself that Blake would want him to make connections.
"Lea, it suits you more than Leann," Noah said without much enthusiasm. In his mind, Leann sounded much more like a quiet girl who wouldn't have interupted him in the first place."I'm Noah, Noah Malfoy. Sixth year."

Lea smiled. She was generally a sweet girl when she wanted to be. She could also be quite the little shrew too. But this guy, Noah he said, seemed decent enough. At least enough to hold a respectable conversation with her. She fidgeted with the hem of her dress while he spoke.
"Yeah, that's why I preffer it." She said with a smirk. "Noah suits you too. And, I know. We're in the same classes." She said, commenting on them being in the same year. She'd seen him before, obviously.

"I apologize," Noah placed his pen on the essay. Lea was obviously in the mood for a conversation, and he surely didn't mind talking to someone who wasn't fluttering around him like he was breakable. It was a nice change of pace. "I'm not the most observant Slytherin around." It would be hard to forget seeing someone like Lea. She must not have had any of the same periods as he had, which was almost impossible, but not improbable.
"What about me makes my name so fitting?" He asked, leaning back in his chair and looking at her.

Lea smiled when he apologized. He seemed much more...respectable than she would have guessed him to be. She tucked her hair behind her ear, having to fidget with something while she sat there. She was unable to sit still for periods of time. "It's fine. I'm not the most memorable person." She said and shrugged. "I don't know. You just look like a Noah." She added, answering his question. She didn't really know why but he looked like a Noah or...Luke or something.

"Of course you are," Noah raised an eyebrow as she tucked her strand of hair behind her ear. "You seem to be outgoing. Don't take my own sight problems personally."
Noah hadn't meant to make Lea upset, although she seemed fairly ohkay with the concept. Noah had to smile a little, he didn't know many girls who were that comfortable in their skin, although she had come up to him and spoken first. That was always a good sign as to a person's confidence. Noah appreciated that, and he knew it. Axel, his own brother, got on his nerves constantly for not stepping up to the bat.
"And I'm glad. I wouldn't know what else my name could be," Noah stated.

((sorry i havent been on in a long time X( lack of muse.... ))
"Don't worry, you didn't offend me. I don't mind blending into the backround." She said with a shrug. She smoothed her skirt over her legs, a habit of hers, as she sat awkwardly. "Soooo, You're working on potions? I was just about to do that assignment but...well, I can't exactly say it's my best subject." She said and twirled her dirty blonde hair around her index finger. She wanted to continue talking to him but he seemed to be trying to concentrate. "If you're...busy, I could go upstairs or something...?" She offered, trying to be polite.

"You don't?" Noah looked at her with a semi- amused expression. "Many girls prefer the spotlight. What a nice change of pace."
"I'm not busy," Noah shrugged, leaning back and disregarding the potions essay and throwing his quill across the table to slide to the edge of his book. "I was just giving myself something to do, you know boring nights in the castle. There isn't much to do with everyone preoccupied with dinner and this Yule Ball thing. But talking to you seems like something that is much more pleasant than sitting here trying to put my notes in a coherant sentence."
