Riley's heart started to pound like it did everytime he looked at her like that. Just knowing that he wanted her drove her crazy in ways that she couldn't explain.
So when he suggested leaving, she nodded, looking around for somewhere they wouldn't be seen, and pulled him into a little alleyway a few yards down the small street. They were barely concealed when Riley pressed up against him and kissed him passionately, apparating them both to the side of the hotel that faced the water. It was a lucky thing really that no muggles were around to see thru displays of either magic or affection.

They were still kissing deeply when they apparated, and Roland was so caught up in her that he didn't even realize that they had appeared behind the hotel right away. When he pulled back slightly and realized where they were, he gave a slight smile.
"You make me so crazy," he said in a breathy voice. He kissed her once more, then they practically ran into the hotel and into the lift. Once they were in the elevator (which, fortunately, was empty of other guests), his arms went around her again, and he began to trail kisses along her jawline.
"Quiero hacerte el amor," he said again. "It means I want to make love to you."

Riley's breath caught in her throat as he said the phrase again, and then translated. As she tilted her chin up, she breathed, "Tamben eu quero fazer amor com você." It was a whole-hearted agreement about the love making, and her arms went around his neck.
It was going to take them days to get through the whole city at this rate, and she found herself with the same thought he had earlier- how were they supposed to work?
"I hope we're like this forever, even when we're old and feeble, I never want to have to take my hands off you."
The elevator dinged and the doors opened to their floor. Riley nearly missed it because she had kissed him again, and then, laughing, pushed him towards the left doors as they were closing again. "Do you have the room key?"

When she spoke to him in Portugese, it nearly unhinged him. Their room seemed like such a long distance away, and he wondered if he could rig the elevator to stop between floors for a while, so they could have some privacy. But then the doors opened and she pushed him out, so he began digging around in his pockets for the key. He nearly knocked the ring box out of his pocket in the process, but he managed to catch it and pull out the room key.
"Here it is," he said breathlessly, and they hurried down the hall.
Once inside the room, he said another one of the Spanish phrases that he knew. "Voy a placer más de lo que usted puede imaginar," he said. It meant "I am going to please you more than you can imagine."

Riley didn't even care about the translations anymore. She could gather the general idea from his tone and the circumstances, and the Spanish unhinged her as well. It sounded so unbelievably sexy on his lips.
Inside the room finally, Riley slammed the door without meaning to, but she didn't notice and shed her jacket quickly.
"Say more?"

He shed his jacket quickly as well, and was now feverishly working at her blouse. But he smiled as she asked for more Spanish. If he'd known that it would have such an effect on her, he would have started using it sooner.
"Eres guapa," he said, meaning "You are beautiful." And then he kissed her deeply. When he pulled away, he added, "Besarte es como ver las estrellas," which meant "to kiss you is like seeing stars."

Riley didn't bother to ask, didn't bother to give him any translations in Portuguese. She couldn't really concentrate enough to think about any of it. All she could think about was the heat of his body, the feel of his hands and lips, and the sound of those words.
While he worked at her blouse, she reached for his shirt, and they somehow managed to undress each other in a tangle of hands.
"It sounds so pretty... Those words." Her own were breathless and almost drowned out by the sound of her heart beating in her ears. What was it about the foreign words that were such a turn on?

The funny thing about speaking in another language is that phrases that would just sound cheesy or stupid in English suddenly sounded romantic and seductive. Because of this, the translations weren't even really necessary. The intention was obvious by the way they were said.
They barely made it to the bed, and it was all over pretty quickly. Later he would have to bring out more phrases and try to take his time with her, but for now, they lay satisfied in each others' arms.
He kissed her softly. "Do you want to know what I said?" he whispered.

Riley was laying with her head on his shoulder, his arms around her and their lips close. She was absently tracing patterns on his chest with her fingernail.
"Yes, she said, her voice quiet. She still had a sleepy look in her eyes. "I would love to know what you said. It sounded so beautiful, Roland."
She pressed a light kiss to his lips and sighed, content. Maybe they could be done exploring for today and just lay in each other's arms forever.

He chuckled lightly. "It all sounds better in Spanish, believe me. English is actually a very unromantic language."
He had learned the phrases while on one of his missions, went he'd seen a girl that he was interested in, but who did not speak English. As it turned out, the bartender spoke Spanish and gave him a few seductive phrases he could use to get the girl's attention. They actually had not worked on the girl (who was actually waiting for someone else), but he'd kept the little scrap of paper and practiced the lines, in case he'd ever need them.
"Well, 'voy a placer más de lo que usted puede imaginar' means 'I'm going to please you more than you can imagine'," he explained, laughing. "It sounds so ridiculous in English, doesn't it? I also said 'eres guapa,' which means 'you're beautiful' and 'besarte es como ver las estrellas' which means 'to kiss you is like seeing stars.'"
He pressed another kiss to her lips, then smiled softly. "That last one is my favorite, because it's true."

"It still sounds nice when you say it," Riley told him, though the phrases were a touch cheesy, at best. Still, she adored him and anything like that he said to her made her melt in any language.
"Tamben eu quero fazer amor com você means that I also want to make love to you. Except in Portuguese, we say with you instead of to you. We're a passionate people when we want to be." It was the first time in ages that she had grouped herself in with the Portuguese. When she decided she wasn't coming back, she had more or less dropped all association with the culture. But being back, it was easy to fall into again.

He kissed her again softly, and began to run his fingers through her hair. "If I had known the Spanish phrases would make you so crazy, I would have used them a long time ago. I actually had forgotten about them until we were there in the bookstore... I've never really used them. Well, once, but they didn't work. I know more of them, too... should I save them for another time?"

"Hmmm... probably," Riley responded. "You wouldn't want to waste the good stuff." She smiled when she said this, her eyes on his. It was almost hard to remember the days when he would look at her with utter contempt. They hadn't lasted long, and she often looked at him very similarly. There was always so much tension and emotion between them that they never had any hope of fighting off a relationship. She was glad now that she finally gave in.
"I don't know what it is... but there is something very, very attractive about a guy saying sweet things in a language you can't really understand. But then, there's just something attractive about you," she added, a teasing smile on her lips.

It always did something to him when she told him that she thought he was attractive. It wasn't like he didn't know that women found him attractive, although, he personally didn't think about it. But after all they had been through together, he wondered whether she had always found him attractive. There had been a time, after all, where he thought she most definitely was not interested.
"I think you're just biased," he teased, kissing her again. He just wanted to kiss her constantly. His lips burned for hers.

Riley laughed at that. "I'm terribly biased. But that doesn't make you think less of the things I say. I know it doesn't," she told him. "I love you so much, Roland. I don't know how or why you decided that I was worth putting up with, but thank you."
Much like him, she couldn't keep her lips from his, and kissed him again before she laughed, this time more quietly. "How are we ever supposed to get anything done like this? No wonder they won't let us back to work."

Roland chuckled. "So you think that Angelique is keeping us on suspension so that we can get all of this out of our systems?" he said. "Because if that's the case, I'm not sure I ever want to go back to work. I don't want there ever to be a time when I'm not desperate to touch you."
She was right, though, and he honestly wasn't sure how they were ever going to make iit through a work day where they had to be serious all the time. Even before, there had been so much tension and emotion between them, and they couldn't make it throught he day without arguing. Now that they had found a much better way of dealing with those feelings, he couldn't imagine that they would be able to stop themselves.
"Anyway, as I recall, I was the one who was difficult and frustrating.... Luckily, my mood has definitely improved."

"That's right. You were obnoxious and difficult, and I was a self righteous know it all." Riley smiled and shook her head. "No one ever said we weren't opinionated, did they?"
It made her think of their unborn child. She was going to be bold, fearless, and stubborn. She would keep them on their toes. She was excited and terrified all at the same time.
"I still want to take you to the beach later, okay?"

"It's so funny to think about those days now," Roland commented. "It doesn't even feel like us anymore. It feels like another life or something. But I imagine it'll be fun to tell our child about it some day. How we hated each other, and then we fell madly in love."
He pressed a few more lazy kisses to her lips, smiling softly. He really did want to go to the beach, because he was fully planning to propose to her there. Somehow, something told him that was the best place for it. But he also really wanted to stay here in bed with her. It was so easy to just get lost in her.
But if he wasn't allowed to propose to her while they were in bed, and they were always in bed, he would never find a good time for it.
"OK," he said. "I do want to see it. But... later."

"Yeah, I'm sure she'll enjoy those stories. I don't want to ever fight in front of her."
It was one thing that Riley really felt she could do right as a mother. She didn't think their child should ever see them fight... Something she learned from childhood.
"Yes, later. I'm not moving from this position for hours, at least."

"Then we won't," Roland said, as if it were that simple. Growing up, he had occasionally heard his parents having minor arguments, but never a major fight. And they had always made up immediately afterward. This was why the current distance between them scared the hell out of him. He could handle it if they were arguing, but he wasn't even sure that they were speaking.
He didn't mention any of this to Riley, however. Right now, he wanted to focus completely on her. "That works for me," he said. "We'll just stay here in each others' arms for a while. There's no where else I'd rather be."
