With Remus

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe walked up to the school with a protective arm around Remus' shoulders. "Sorry you had to see that back there." said Chloe looking at him. "Take a seat." she said sitting on the grass. "Myself and the other guy you saw, Zander, we're some of the few that are against Fenrir, so don't fear us or anything. I know it seems strange that I just came out of nowhere to protect you, but I'm not going to let anything happen to you."

[Remus Lupin]

Remus was still feeling a little bit shaky, but he smiled at the woman. "I'm Remus. So... so I guess he turned you, too, huh? How old were you? I was only six."

[Chloe Owen]

"On my 18th birthday." said Chloe. "It's been six years since I was turned. Fenrir left me, so I had to learn to control it on my own." said Chloe shrugging.

[Remus Lupin]

"He tried to take me," Remus said. "My dad nearly killed him. See... My father had offended Greyback, and so he was sort of expecting him to attack us. But he didn't think he'd get me, he thought he'd go after my dad. So he had a gun with a silver bullet in it. He fired it at Greyback when he saw him try to run off with me... he missed, but Greyback dropped me and ran. My dad wouldn't abandon me... he's raised me all this time. And Professor Dumbledore arranged for me to be able to come to school.... Why won't Greyback leave me alone?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Well, Greyback wants his pack. He's the Alpha in the pack. I mean, other than that, I could not really tell you." said Chloe. "Don't worry about Greyback so much. I'll keep a watchful eye on you, but not so much other people will notice." she said popping her fingers. "My parents left me. All my friends left me, so I was alone, but I made it through. I'm going to make sure you make it through too. I don't like to see people who hate Greyback suffer."

[Remus Lupin]

"Thanks," Remus said, smiling. "I can't believe you're a... you know... I mean, you're so pretty..." he blushed a little bit. "I do hate him. And I'd like it if you could keep an eye on me. Um, the other guy... do you think he's going to be OK?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Um thanks." said Chloe smiling. "Uh Zander, I do think he'll be okay. If I don't see him around in a couple of hours, I'm gonna go look for him, but don't worry. I do believe he's okay."

[Remus Lupin]

"I hope so," Remus said. "He seemed nice." He leaned against the tree and sighed. "Do you think Greyback will ever give up on me? He didn't bother me while I was at home, but since I came to school, he's been hanging around a lot."

[Chloe Owen]

"Sadly, I don't think he will give up on you. That's why we can't really let you go alone somewhere, without someone sort of watching. I don't know why he waited and started bothering you here instead of at home. Maybe he's sort of scared of your father, then again he may not be." said Chloe.

[Remus Lupin]

"Well, he's wasting his time. I'm never going to join with him. I like my life the way it is. I don't want to be anywhere near him. He scares me." Remus sighed. "If he keeps coming after me, more people are going to find out about me. Most of my friends don't know, and I don't know what will happen when they find out."

[Chloe Owen]

"Like I told Greyback earlier, as long as I'm around, I'll make sure your life stays as it is. For your friends, all I can say is, if they are truely your friends, then they will accept you for who you are. My friends don't know what I am, well, except for Zander. I don't want them to know. I'm scared I'll lose my job." said Chloe. "As for me, I'm also a little scared of Greyback, so you're not alone."

[Remus Lupin]

"Thanks," Remus said. "For helping me. It makes it easier to know I'm not the only one who has to live with this... but who doesn't want to be like Greyback." He smiled a little. "I know I'll have at least one friend, no matter what happens. Rori already knows, and she doesn't care."

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe smiled. "That's great! See, maybe if your other friends have the same attitude then your set!" she said. "You know if you ever need anything or just want to talk, you know you can always reach me. Send an owl or something." said Chloe still smiling. "I'll stop whatever I'm doing and come as fast as I can. Right now, I'm starting to worry about Zander........"

[Zander Smith]

Zander staggered out of the forest, limping slightly and bleeding heavily from multiple gashes across his face and arms. "He... he won't bother you anymore today," he said tiredly. He flopped down on the grass next to them. "I had to use magic on him. I think he would have killed me if I didn't."

[Chloe Owen]

"My gosh Zander!" said Chloe. She pulled out her wand and muttered a healing spell. "Thank you for distracting him while we got away, but why did he attack you so?" she asked concernedly about her friend.

[Zander Smith]

"Thanks," he said as the bleeding stopped. "What happened back there... it's been a long time coming between me and him. And I don't think it'll be the last time we fight, either. See, I was in his pack for a while. I had no where else to go, so I went with him. I hated it, and I hated him. We used to argue all the time. Then, one night I was out at the nightclub and this girl, Pearl, one of the pack members, was there, too." Zander sighed. "She was his favorite. His first. She was only five years old when he turned her and she's been with him all this time. But that night... we were talking and dancing, and I kind of... I kissed her. And Greyback saw. He yelled at her and she ran away, and then he tried to fight with me then, but sent me after her instead. I talked to her and she told me she wanted to leave the pack. So I took her away. That's why he's mad at me. He never even wanted to make me, and now I've gone and taken away his favorite." He ran his hand through his hair and looked at the kid. "I'm really sorry you had to see that. But I'm glad Chloe was around to get you to safety. I'm Zander, by the way."

[Chloe Owen]

"Oh." said Chloe. "Well, I'll back you up. I can't have one of my friends dying on me, now can I? If Greyback starts something, I'll help out the best way I can." said Chloe. She turned her attention to Remus. "Dumbledore would flip if Greyback came on school grounds. Don't worry about Greyback coming here, seeing as Dumbledore wouldn't hear of it."

[Zander Smith]

Zander lay down on the grass. "Thanks, Chloe. Really. I'm pretty sure he'll come back at some point. Pearl and I are staying in Hogsmeade, so between us and the boy, I think Greyback's going to be hanging around a lot. I just hope he doesn't get the rest of the pack after us. Some of them really didn't like me."

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe let out a nevous laugh. "Well, um. None of the pack really like me. One night I didn't get home in time before I turned. I sort of turned into a werewolf in an alley in Hogsmeade. I took off running and then I saw another werewolf. He growled at me, and attacked me. I sort of attacked him back, and sort of killed him. I didn't mean too. I guess I sort of lost control." said Chloe turning her gaze at her feet. "I hate that I remember it." she muttered.

[Zander Smith]

"I've never killed or attacked anything," Zander said. "But then, it's only been a couple of months. I've been hiding in sheds and holes."
