Alenna was carrying a rather large stack of books from the library. She realized suddenly, that it was January, and her NEWTs were comming up sooner than she thought they would. She had made a study schedual, one that involved everything, all her classes, plus time for Jeremy, eating, her friends...
"Oh, i forgot to add sleeping..." Alenna said, making a mental note to squeeze some shut eye in and there. While she was thinking about her schedual, though, Alenna hadn't noticed the solid pillar in her path. She looked up just in the nick of time and swerved away from the pillar. "Ah ha!" Alenna said in a triumphent tone. She then took a couple more steps and tripped on her shoelace, sending text books flying everywhere. "Aw hell..." she swore as she landed on the ground.

Heather was feeling similarly frazzled. Just because she was a Hufflepuff and she already knew exactly what she'd be doing after school, that didn't mean that she wasn't nervous about taking the NEWTs. After all, she wouldn't be able to play quidditch forever, and she wanted to do well on her NEWTs so that she would have a chance at a good job when she was done.
She had sent up a schedule as well, making enough time for her classes, her studies, quidditch practice, and Micah. After this year, she wouldn't see her little brother very often anymore, and she wanted to make sure they had some time together.
She had actually just finished studying in the library, and was on her way to class when she saw Alenna trip, causing books to fly all over the hallway. One book skidded across the floor, coming to a stop right at Heather's feet.
"Need help?" she asked, bending down to pick up the book.

Alenna picked her self up, shaking her head in embarrassment. "Hey Heather, thanks," She smiled at her as Heather handed her the book. She knew Heather pretty well, she was in her year but in Hufflepuff. She was a fantastic Quidditch player and Alenna knew that she was looking into playing proffesionally after school ended.
She picked up the rest of the books and steadied them like she had them before. She then pulled out her wand, tapping the large stack twice, making the books shrink to the point that they would all fit in her backpack. "Don't know why I didn't think of that before," she shook her head. "Thanks, again. How're you doing?" Alenna asked Heather.

Heather smiled at Alenna. She had been so busy lately that she hadn't really been able to pay much attention to her friends, but she did consider Alenna to be a friend. "I'm the same way, I never think of the magical shortcut first," she said, rolling her eyes. "Anyway, I'm doing OK. Just really busy. Stupid NEWTs. They're giving me migraines, I swear. How about you? I've heard about you and Jeremy... I'm really happy for you."

"I know right!" Alenna said, glad someone was feeling the same stress about the NEWTs. "It's worse than when we had to study for the OWLs, it's so quiet in my common room, everyone's afraid that even if we breath too loud it'll throw off someone's concentration." she smiled. "I've been studying in the kitchens, i think it's more relaxing, and the elves don't mind the company."
"Yea, Jeremy's great," Alenna smiled. "I'm doing alright. And you? Still going to play Quidditch after school?"

"That's a good idea," Heather said, grinning. "I hadn't thought of that one. I'll study sometimes in the Room of Requirement, and sometimes I'll even do it out on the Quidditch pitch. I think better when I'm flying... so I'll bring a book and read it on my broom." She laughed and shook her head. "Now you probably think I'm completely nuts, right?"
Maybe it was crazy to build her life so completely around Quidditch. But as confident as she seemed to most people, she only ever really felt at home when she was playing Quidditch. She would rather be on a broom than just about anything else.
"Yep, still planning to play Quidditch. The Harpies are holding a spot for me, so I'm really looking forward to graduating, so I can start playing again. Honestly, if I had known about the Tournament this year, I would have joined the team right away instead of waiting a year."
