[Severus Snape]

Severus hadn't seen Natalie since the Wedding of his professors, there hadn't been a chance yet to isolate them or even just ...Mrs. professor Rothschild. Severus took a roll that he stuffed in his pocket from breakfast and tore a piece off and tossed it into the lake. it made a small splash and a tentacle came up out of the water and curled around the tiny piece of bread as if it were something much larger. Severus didn't know why it struck him as funny, but he laughed lightly at the sight of such a large tentacle delicately picking up a dainty piece of bread.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie was heading out to her favorite climbing tree, deep in thought. She was worried about her uncle Alastor. He'd left mysteriously, leaving behind a very undescriptive note. She was supposedly being watched by Professor Rothschild and her new husband, but she'd only seen them for a few minutes, and hadn't had a chance to tell them about the vision she'd seen. Natalie was debating whether or not to try talking to Sabrina again as she approached the lake and saw Severus there, throwing breadcrumbs at the giant squid. "Hi, Severus," she said.

[Landon Travis]

Landon was taking an evening walk to ponder what all had happened since he had arrived at Hogwarts. He hadn't really been there long and already had quite a few friends. When he walked past the lake, he saw a skinny boy with black hair and a young girl looking out into the water at the giant squid. He stopped to introduce himself, "Hi! What's up?" He asked, casually.

[Severus Snape]

"Hello Natalie! I'm sorry i've not been able to find you...er...Mrs...Rothschild is hard to get a hold of... i think since the hols are approaching" Severus said standing up to greet Natalie. He always felt compled to hold out his hand to shake hands, because he had been taught to do so, but he kept them at his sides. he wasn't going to keep that habit and he would eventually get rid of it. he genrally didn't like to touch other peoples hands, but he liked Natalie...

[Severus Snape]

Severus saw the new boy and turned to say hello. "Hello... ah... what's your name?" he asked feeling akward without Rori... she was so much better at talking with new faces.

[Landon Travis]

"Oh, I'm Landon Travis. I'm a first year Ravenclaw, so I'm kinda new here. And you?" Landon asked politely. He could tell that the boy was a little shy.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie turned to look at the new boy. "Hi," she said in her quiet voice. She looked at him carefully, tilting her head to one side. "I'm Natalie."

[Severus Snape]

"... My name is Severus Snape, I am a first year,Slytherin. This is Natalie, she lives here with her uncle...Professor Domino." He said tearing another part of bread off he tossed it over his shoulder and it made a soft "plop" into the lake, again the squid reacted and took the bread down into the water.

[Landon Travis]

"Nice to meet you, Severus." Landon said, reaching his arm out to shake Severus's. "And you too, Natalie." Landon replied. "Are you in school too?" He asked, thinking of how young she looked.

[Natalie St. Clare]

"No, not yet," Natalie said. "I'm still a year away. But my parents are dead, and my uncle is adopting me, and he's a teacher here. Also, my sister goes here. Her name is Sabrina. Do you know her?"

[Landon Travis]

"Yeah, I met her just recently." Landon replied, nodding. "I'm a Ravenclaw chaser on the quidditch team. So, I met her when I joined the team. She seems nice. And also good at quidditch!" He said, grinning.

[Severus Snape]

Severus made a face at his hand... he had bread crumbs on it. "Hi!" he said waving his roll at the boy.

[Landon Travis]

Landon grinned at the boys odd behavior, and nodded back to him. "So, what house are you in?" He asked the boy, curiously. He seemed like he might be a Hufflepuff, but Landon wasn't sure.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie nodded. "Yeah, Bree loves Quidditch. I hope the Quidditch season will cheer her up a little. She's been kinda depressed lately." She sat down in the grass. She continued to look at him curiously. She wasn't getting any feelings out of him, which was good.

[Landon Travis]

"Yeah, maybe so. I know its cheered me up. Its given me something exciting to do! Not that the school isn't exciting or anything...but, you know." Landon smiled. The two were odd, he had to admit, but they were friendly. "You must be looking forward to going to school next year, huh? But its cool that you get to hang out with your uncle occasionally."

[Natalie St. Clare]

"Yeah, I guess so," Natalie said. "My uncle tries, but he doesn't understand me. He treats me like a little kid. I know I am a kid, but I'm not stupid." She began twirling her hair around her index finger. "Do you have family? A brother or sister or anything?"

[Landon Travis]

"Well, I'm an only child, but my mom and dad are muggles, so they don't really understand much of me either." Landon replied, looking down at the ground. "But they're still cool. For most of the part, anyways. Is Sabrina your only sibling?"

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie nodded. "Yeah, she's the only one. I have cousins, though. Two of them go here. Elle and Lucie Wright. They're from my dad's side of the family. There's another one, too, Carrie. But Sabrina and I never met her. She looked up at Severus, who had fallen silent.

[Severus Snape]

"Oh, I'm an Only child too...My mum is from an Old family...My dad's a muggle...he kinds doesn't understand my mum...or me." he said not really wanting to think about his father...or family for that matter.

[Natalie St. Clare]

Natalie knew Severus had issues with his father, and rightly so. So she tried to come up with something else to talk about. She looked out at the lake. "Do you suppose there's only one giant squid? Or are there others? Hasn't the giant squid been in there forever?"
