Connor rolled his eyes as Rose announced they were lucky she happened by. "She would have been just fine with me," he mumbled, hating how easy it was for Rose to take charge and be so friendly about it. Whenever he tried to take charge like it, he just came off as bossy and rude. Which, hey, worked for him sometimes.
"As a boy who doesn't have to be worried about getting caught sneaky around or skipping class, I actually know quite a few passageways myself, Brook." He gave Rose a look as if to say "ha!" but at least kept that one to himself. "I take it you'll be joining us for the rest of the tour? Maybe we can introduce her to Gwen."
He wasn't entirely sure they'd get along, to be honest. Brook seemed nice enough, but Gwen had an impeccable way of keeping people at arm's length. She hid behind her fake confidence, her outgoing personality, and even her flirting sometimes. But it couldn't hurt to give Brook a few familiar faces to turn to when she needed it.

Rose rolled her eyes, "Are you still on about that?" she asked as if her word had been final and he was bringing up something that was old news, then she shrugged. She had taken Brook's arm in her own with a smile, " Actually he's quite right, he's the very devil when it comes to doing things he shouldn't" she winked at him, it was such fun to tease him, and so easy too, "And 99.9 percent of the time he can get out of trouble just as fast. However he's lucky to have me for the last .01 percent."
Rose's personality was a self defense mechanism a lot of the time. Once you sorted through the layers of her forwardness and her over friendliness it was easy to see the lonely pressured girl who for the most part was still trying to figure out her place in the world.
"I'm sure Gwen would be delighted, but we could probably catch up with her around dinner. I'll just send her a note and ask if she'd rather come with, or wait til then." she looked pointedly at Connor, "Because some of us like to inform others as to our locations."

Connor smiled as Rose took Brook's arm. The girl could make friends with Filch, if she tried, and he loved that about her. And Merlin knew, she had gotten him out of trouble on an occassion or two.
"Are you taking over my tour?" he asked, putting his hands on his hips. "I was the one chosen for this, you know. Jealous, Rose?" he asked, his eyebrows raising playfully. "All the same... pleasing two girls is hardly a challange." It was suggestive, and he let it be, but he smiled and walked with them anyway.
"And please... like Gwen ever tells us where she's going, even when we're supposed to meet up. At least I do, half the time. Brook, I think you'd like her. And I'd be willing to get into all sorts of trouble with you." He winked.

Rose penned a quick letter and charmed it to seek out her friend telling her that they were touring and to come with or meet up at Dinner since she didn't dare trust a new female student all alone with Connor.
She laughed and then said the last part of her letter out loud, " A three headed troll wouldn't be safe by themselves with you Conner, let alone a pretty new student. I'm just doing my duty in seeing her safely escorted around." She gave him one of her breathtaking grins, so happy and comfortable in his presence and doing something she liked to do, like helping out the new student.

The byplay between them was so comfortable Brook found herself smiling, they both seemed very kind, if not overly attractive, merlin was everyone at this school going to be a model? She pondered that as they spoke, until Rose called her pretty.
She blushed even at the implication that Connor might do something less than appropriate but flat out laughed when he said that he could please them both.
"I don't know...I can be mighty difficult some times."
She nodded when he said that she would like Gwen, she was already coming to like Rose.

Connor winked. "I like difficult. And if I can charm a three headed troll, which it seems Rose thinks I can do quite easily, then I'm sure I can charm you. You really are much more pleasant that said troll."
He didn't quite believe her that she could be difficult. She was nice and sweet enough now, though she did have red hair on her side... that usually meant there was temper in there somewhere. And where there was a temper, there was passion... he smiled a little to himself.
"Where are you leading us to, Rose?"

Rose, now that she had invaded their small group, was relatively quiet as she walked with them. She had taken to watching them interact with each other, and had a positive feeling about the girl. Connor on the other hand could be lethally charming, Rose would have to see that he didn't go around breaking hearts.
When she was addressed her mind seemed to clear and she shrugged, " Well you already took full advantage of the staircase, I thought I might show her the useful things, like where some of her classes might be. It's too close to dinner to show her anything fun."

"Then you obviously don't know all of the fun places in this castle," Connor ribbed her, though he rolled his eyes at her comment about the staircase.
"Okay, look, to be fair, I have used that moving staircase to my advantage in the past. This time, I swear it was accidental." He looked at Brooklyn. "I swear," he added for extra emphasis.
"Do you know your schedule yet?" he asked, thinking it would be a helpful question if they were showing her the classrooms.

Brooklyn often took full measure of people by watching them covertly and Connor and Rose seemed to have a history that she didn't want to step into. Still it wasn't like her to simply stay quiet.
"Pity." she said with a shrug but a small wink and smile letting him know she was teasing. When he asked about her schedule she nodded and laid it out for both of them.
"But I know where my classes are already." she said easily.

Gwen had holed herself up in the library. Her dorm room was out of the question because Rose would force her out. So she sought refuge in the quietest place she could find.
But that wasn't really Gwen, and when the quiet got to her and she couldn't really handle it anymore, she slammed the book she'd been pretending to read shut and left.
It was pur coincidence she came across the three of them, and her eyes landed on the redhead instantly. "Really, Connor?" she said, while sizing the girl up. "And blonde, a redhead, and a brunette? You're setting yourself up for a bad joke."

Rose let out a ladylike chuckle after glancing around at her fellow students, "She's got a point Doyle." she said with another small laugh.
In her friend's defense Gwen and her had decided to interrupt his tour, and the girl just happened to be a redhead. She smiled, "Well bad joke and all I suggest now that we're all here that we take miss McKay and show her around the place."

"Well, don't be rude," Connor teased Rose, but it was only because he saw the look on Gwen's face. She just seemed so down since she'd come back from visiting her family, and she was pushing them away. He wished he knew what to do. "We need to introduce everyone. Brooklyn, this is Guinevere, also in our year, a year above you. Gwen, meet the new girl. We're just showing her around."
Then, he nudged Rose, giving her a look before he changed topics and said, "You know, for being Head Girl, you pay very little attention to people. She already said she knows where her classes are."

Brooke watched the byplay between the three and it might have been overwhelming if she didn't already like the trio and wasn't so amused. They vibed good people. Her guardian said she had the spidy sense, in other words the detective's gut about people, whether or not they were good or whether or not they had ulterior motives. He often teased her about taking her on the case, but they both knew he'd never put her in any danger.
She smiled as Rose stuck her tongue out and punched Connor lightly in the arm.
Finally she put a hand up, " It's really quite alright...where were the three of you headed to before I interrupted your plans?"
