Obviously, Zeke had the same thought in mind about the table. He thought about asking the dealer to have a new deck at the table since it was a different dealer, but Sadie beat him to the punch. Looking at her, again he had the look on his face like he was trying to read her. No new girl, that he had ever seen, asked for a new deck of cards.
He looked away and watched the dealer for a moment. The dealer was a new guy there, but that wasn't what he was paying attention to. Zeke's eyes were on the cards as the dealer dealt them out. Sure, poker wasn't one of his strongest points but he could still play fairly well. Picking up his cards, he thought of his hand then looked back up to Sadie. He flashed her a wide grin. He was going to have to watch her.

Sadie was watching the dealer and the other players, getting a quick feel for them and their styles. She was amused that Zeke followed her. "You a card shark?" she asked quietly, eyebrow raised in his direction. "I love a boy whose good with money."
While she was playing stupid, though, it was fairly appearant that she knew what she was doing- at least to someone else who played and paid attention to the nuances. Her hands never went under the table, her face never showed an emotion, unless she wanted it to.
"Are you going to be a sweetheart and help me here too? I always forget what everything means."

Zeke let out a chuckle. "I never cheat," he whispered back. "It's all just good luck." He gave her a wink. It was true, he never really cheated. He didn't consider counting cards to be cheating, just paying close attention and knowing the game, that was all.
"But I am good with my money. Although it might be because I usually know when to quit." He smiled then looked quickly at his hand again. Sadie knew what she was doing. From what he noticed so far, she had to have known. Zeke wasn't going to quite ruin her fun just yet and call her on it. No. He might wait a game or two, then mention something to her. Zeke had to get more proof from her, which she could give him without saying a word.
Letting his smile rest on his face, he gave a nod. "I suppose I could help you," Zeke said giving her the satisfaction of him going along with her. "Wouldn't want you to be completely clueless would we?"

"No such thing as good luck," Sadie replied. "It's just knowing your numbers." Her look was serious as she was finally honest with him, but she grinned a moment later, and turned her pretty eyes back to the cards in her hand. They were starting off with a little five card draw, a quick warm up before they graduated to bigger and better games, and she pulled two cards from her hand, laying them face down on the table, her fingers on top of them until it was her turn to trade them out.
Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Zeke. That cool, confident air was about him, and it intrigued her. She'd keep her eye on him, but she wondered just how good he really was.
"I wouldn't want to look like a fool," she told him, batting her eyelashes.

"Knowing your numbers huh?" Zeke grinned. He kept his eyes on her for a moment. Now he was positive that she knew exactly what she was doing. Even though he thought he had her almost completely figured out, she had intrigued him even more.
He only took one card from his hand to trade out. Zeke was always fairly confident in himself. He wouldn't ever want to give the appearance of he was winning, losing, or counting. It was all just a fun game really.
"No one really wants to look like a fool, except maybe that guy over on the other end." He subtly nodded in his direction. "His eyes are going everywhere. It's either he's just really nervous or he has no idea what the hell he's doing." Looking back to Sadie, he smiled without showing his teeth. "By the way, I'm Zeke."

She raised her eyebrows at his introduction, but kept quiet as she turned her eyes back on the man who, she agreed, looked nervous. "I imagine he's got something pretty big riding on this game." It was a shame, because when it came down to needing to win, you rarely ever did.
She wondered what this guy's tell was. Was he keeping her distracted by talking to her, introducing himself?
She traded out her cards, slowly placing the two new ones in her hand as she looked over what she had been given. As everyone began to fold or raise their bets, Sadie turned that smile on him again. "It's a pleasure, Zeke. I'm Sadie."

"Sadie," he repeated as he looked down at his hand. Right now, Zeke just needed a good bluff and hopefully other people would just fold. He raised his bet and looked back to the girl next to him.
"That's a pretty name. Can't ever say that I've met anyone else with your name." He gave her a charming smile, or what he thought was a charming smile, along with a wink. That smile of hers made him want to keep on talking to her and get to know her.
By the time he looked back to the dealer, 3 of the six people at the table had folded. "Looks like it's just down to you, me, and that nervous guy down there."

"Can't say I've ever met anyone with your name either," Sadie replied dryly, keeping her eyes on the table and the other players. Zeke was trying to keep her engaged... was he bluffing, or trying to distract her from realizing she had a good hand, if that were the case. "Guess that makes us both pretty unique."
She was concentrating on the guy at the end of the table. Zeke, she was pretty sure, was bluffing, only because he just kept talking to her. At least, that's what she hoped. But the other guy, she wasn't so sure about, especially when he raised his bet.
She called it.

Sadie was definitely going to be a tough cookie. Zeke was leaning toward the fact that the girl knew what she was doing and was just playing along with him. He wasn't that stupid. After all, he knew a pretty good bluff when he saw one.
Just to see how she would do, Zeke called it as well. He wasn't going to fold just yet. He usually ran a good bluff. Sometimes they would get so high that the other person would fold and Zeke would get the prize. However, this girl, he knew wasn't going to fold easily. And maybe it was just part of his game to keep talking to her to attempt to keep her distracted but he would never admit to it if it was.
The nervous guy seemed to be looking at them and then he folded. "Looks like its just me and you sweet heart."

He was annoying, she decided. But then, she also wondered if he was trying to be.
The guy at the other end of the table was taking his time, which meant he had a decent hand, but not a great one, and he didn't know what to think of Sadie or Zeke. Were she him, she would have folded, too, since he clearly couldn't bluff. Both she and the blonde guy next to her would have been all over that.
Her attention, once again on her own hand, then went to Zeke. Like that guy over there, she had a decent hand, but not a great hand. Which left him as the variable. If nothing else, she wouldn't fold because she needed to know if he was bluffing, or extremely lucky.
"I'll raise," she said after a moment, dropping three more chips to the pile already laid out. Hey, you had to risk big to win big, right?

Sometimes luck ran Zeke's way. Sometimes his terrible hands magically turned into a great hand, and no he didn't use magic to help him win. Why use magic to cheat? It never gave a feeling of satisfaction. He preferred to actually play fairly when he was playing cards.
As Sadie raised the pot, Zeke gave her a sideways glance and gave her a wink. He also placed three chips in the pile. Rarely did he fold and this was not going to be one of those rare times. He wanted to also play the game out just to see who was bluffing who.
He gave her a sideways smile as the man started to flip the cards over. "Ladies first," he said in response to her flipping over her cards.

Sadie kept an eye on Zeke, rather than watching the cards that the dealer was flipping over. At this point, it didn't really matter.
Finally, she glanced back. Well, her two pair just became a full house, king high. That wasn't terrible. Unless Zeke was hiding a straight or flush or something along those lines, she was in.
In one fluid movement, she laid her cards down, face up, and the dealer announced her full house before they both turned their attention to Zeke. She had to admit, she was curious what his hand was. His hand would say a lot about him, actually, based on how he'd been acting, and she wouldn't mind figuring him out.
