Lina had been just as torn up over Roland's death as Cyrus, but she tried hard not to show it. She wanted to be the support system for her fiance... but the guilt of Roland's death, and knowing it was because of her... it was eating her up inside.
But something had to be done. They couldn't keep on like this forever. So one morning, Lina woke up early, fed Mara, and then set to making Cyrus breakfast. She made her world famous french toast, along with some bacon and eggs, and set out two glasses of orange juice, waiting for him to wake up and join her.

Over the past several days, Cyrus was getting better. He wasn't quite ready to go back to work but he knew he was going to return within the next day or two. Laying in bed, he didn't even feel Lina get up. It wasn't until he turned over to snuggle up with her that he noticed she wasn't there.
The smell of breakfast filled his nose and Cyrus rose out of bed, pulling a t-shirt over his head. Walking into the kitchen he put a smile on his face. His two favorite people were awake. He headed over to Mara and kissed her head before walking over to Lina and doing the same. "Morning," Cyrus said taking a seat across from her.

"Good morning," Lina replied, smiling gently. He was looking better... that was a good thing.
"Help yourself. Mara's already had a very small piece of French toast, and gave it her approval."
She watched him fondly as he sat down, wondering how to breach the subject she had on her mind. She didn't want to start a fight, and she didn't want him to be angry with her... but they had to move on eventually.
"Cy... can we talk?"

Making his own plate, Cyrus looked toward Mara and gave her a wink. "That's my girl," he said smiling at her. He was doing a lot better, and that was because of both of his girls.
Looking back across the table, he looked curiously at Lina. There was something different about her. Worry? Fear? He didn't know what. "Of course we can Lina," Cyrus said in a reassuring tone. "What's going on?"

Lina smiled, not wanting him to think anything was wrong.
"I know the timing is all wrong, and it's never going to feel right without Roland. So I don't want you to think that I'm pushing you or disregarding his absence or anything."
She wished she knew a better way to ease into the subject, but there just... wasn't.
"I want us to start planning the wedding, Cy. I want something happy to happen for us, you know?"

He reached across the table and took Lina's hand. "Why would you think you were pushing me with that? I'm glad that you said something." Cyrus smiled. "I remember one night when I saw Roland and I ended up drunk after you went to your brothers, he basically told me I was an idiot for not going ahead. He would say the same thing now." He swallowed. Talking about Roland was still hard, but it was just a little easier than before.
"And no matter what ever happens, something happy has already happened for us. Well, two things. That ring on your finger, and the little munchkin over there."

Lina sighed, smiling and squeezing his hand. She had been worried that they would fight over this, or that he would come back with some excuse about waiting for his mother again, but his answer made her smile, and she was happy.
"Can we set a date, then?" She asked him, hoping she wouldn't push her luck. "It doesn't have to be big. But I was thinking we could just have a small little ceremony... not a lot to it. I would invite my family, you yours... I was thinking soon. I just want to be your wife, Cy. And I want Mara to have a legitimate family."

"A date? Whenever you want Lina. All you have to do is let me know when." Now he was going to be there for Lina and try to make up for lost time. He knew that he still had to be there for the rest of his family, but he was going to be a little selfish. Cyrus wasn't sure if his mother would be willing to go ahead and go to a wedding after Roland's funeral.
The thought hit Cyrus' mind. He wasn't going to have a best man... that was going to be Roland's job. Who was it going to be now? He could always ask Hayden, or maybe even Jamie. Hayden could be one of his groomsmen. Reach up and stratching his forehead, Cyrus didn't know what he was going to do about that. Not wanting Lina to see him frown, he let his smile reappear on his face.
"It doesn't matter the date to me. If you wanted, I could just wisk you away right now, bring Mara along with us and get married now, then we could have a wedding later. It doesn't matter to me. I want you to be happy Lina." He squeezed her hand. "We could say about a month for the wedding? Or do you want shorter or longer?"
