Robin was getting library atmosphere disease. She'd been hard at work researching plants for Herbology for the past two hours, and the smell of old dusty books was beginning to get to her. It made her feel kind of loopy.
Realizing she was missing one book that she needed for her research, she let out a sigh and got up, hurrying towards the bookshelves without even bothering to look where she was going.

Roxanna stood at a shelf, staring at it with a blank look on her face. She didn't want to study about magical creatures, but she needed to. A test was coming soon, she could feel it, and she wanted to be prepared. Her head turned as she heard footsteps hurrying towards her. She smiled, recognizing the girl as a Hufflepuff. "Hello," Roxanna said politely, "Studying last minute as well?"

Robin looked up and quickly caught her hand on one of the book shelves as if to stop herself from running right into the girl. She'd been working so long that she'd sort of shut out everyone else, as if she were in a bubble.
She laughed lightly. "Yeah... I always leave things to the last minute. It's really a terrible practice and every time I swear I'm never going to do it again. And then I do." She shook her head. "How are you doing? I'm Robin."

Roxanna laughed with her. What Robin had said related to Roxanna as well. "I'm Roxanna. Nice to meet you!" She said cheerfully. Maybe this year wasn't going to be so bad after all, she was meeting a few new people who seemed rather nice. "Procrastination always wins my battles, as well." Roxanna put the book she was looking at down, and turned to Robin, not wanting to be rude, seeming as if the book was more important than talking.

"Nice to meet you, Roxanna. You're in Hufflepuff, too, right? I think I've seen you around."
Robin let out a sigh and began to rub her head. "I think I've been working too long. It's been at least two hours, maybe more, and I'm starting to see little words floating in front of my eyes. I might also be getting high on book dust." Laughing lightly, she nodded to the book in Roxanna's hands. "What are you working on?"

"Yes, I'm a fourth year." Roxanna smiled.
She glared at the book and sighed. "Care of Magical Creatures. Not exactly my favorite subject, but I'll live through it!" She laughed. "And I know what you mean. The books here are all dusty!" She opened to a random page and shook it over the floor. "What are you studying?"

"Oh, OK," Robin said. "I wish I could help you with that, just for a change of pace, but I don't take Care of Magical Creatures. I'm here studying Herbology. I have to do a report on magical versions of mundane plants. It's so boring." She rolled her eyes. "Professor Black.... I mean, Tonks... is very nice, but I don't really like plants all that much."

Roxanna also rolled her eyes, just from the mention of Herbology. "And I wish I could help you, too, but we seem to have the same problem. I don't like Herbology either! I'm more of a potions girl, myself." Roxanna gave a short laugh at both the girls problems. "It seems like we're both stuck studying something we don't enjoy."

Robin smiled. "Well, we all have our weak classes, I suppose. I'm actually really good in Transfiguration. And I like Ancient Runes. Potions is OK. I'm not the best, but I'm not the worst, either."
The smell of dust was really getting to her, and she abruptly sneezed. "You know what? I think I need to get out of here and get some fresh air. Want to go for a walk for a bit?"

Roxanna smiled. "Sure. I don't like being in the library too long anyway." She placed the book on the shelf with a happy sigh. She was making new friends, and they made her happy. Maybe this year would be the year she'd fit in somewhere. "Where to?" She asked, turning from the shelf to Robin.

Robin thought for a minute. "Well, it's pretty cold out today, but I really think I need a little fresh air. Maybe to the courtyard? It's still somewhat sheltered, and it's close, so if we get too cold, we can go back inside."
There wasn't much to do in the courtyard in this kind of weather, but at least they'd get some exercise and fresh air. Sometimes Robin felt like they were cooped up too much in the stale air of the castle.
"Hang on, let me just grab my notes from my table, then we can go."
