Gage had never tried to draw the whomping willow before. In his opinion, it moved all too much and he wasn't exactly sure how to sketch it. (he was also quite scared of the tree). But, in the mood for an artistic challenge, Gage grabbed his sketch book-the poor thing falling apart from its many years of use-and a handful of charcol pencils - he hadn't mastered the sharpening charm yet- and made his way toward the usually isolated hill where the Willow was planted.
When he got there, Gage sat himself on one of the boulders not too far away, but far enough so he was out of the tree's reach, and began to draw. After a while, he became so immersed in his drawings that he didn't realize that there was someone else comming up behind him.

Raven often came to this tree. This time out of boredom. She saw a Ravenclaw she had often seen in the corridors. She sat next to him. "Nice day." she said. She looked over and saw his sketch. "Wow that's amazing!" she commented. "I draw myself but mainly animals and buildings." she said. She reached into her bag and pulled out her drawing pad. On the first page was a detailed sketch of Hogwarts. On the next a drawing of a Unicorn. "It passes time between classes." she said. "I'm Raven Carter. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?" she asked. Her blue eyes glistened and her ebony hair was tied up in a ponytail.

Gage, the skidditish kid that he was, jumpped when Raven snuck up on him. "Um...thanks," Gage said, his initial shyness comming out. He recognized Raven, she was in Seth's house and year. "I'm Gage," he said quietly. "Gage Oliver." he smiled. As Raven pulled out her own sketch book, he got a glimpse of her drawing of hogwarts. "That's not bad," Gage said. "I perfer to draw people," he flipped a few pages back to a drawing of Seth and Maxi he had drawn before they started dating. "But no one was around today, so I thought I'd come here." he gestured to the tree.

Smiling Raven took out her graffite pencils and started to draw the tree herself. "It's nice to meet you Gage. I have seen your brother in the Common Room but never spoken to him." she said getting the boughs of the tree the right shape. A bird began to sing. She spotted it and drew her wand. She used a silencing spell. "Urgh I hate all things cheerful." she muttered and got back to her drawing. "So how come Seth's in Slytherin and you're not?" Raven asked.

"Seth?" Gage looked at Raven for a moment. "Oh we aren't siblings, we're best friends," Gage said. He smiled though. "But he acts like my brother a lot; looks out for me and stuff," Gage added. He watched as Raven silenced the bird and smirked.. Bek would have hated her instantly, insisting that animals shouldn't be treated that way and silencing them would be like a bird silencing a human. "My brother and sister went to magic school in America, where we grew up," he said. "But they're done with school now. So It's just me here, and my two other sisters, but they're 5." Gage babbled a bit and then stopped.

"Sweet." said Raven. She finished and packed her stuff away. "So whats the Ravenclaw Common Room like?" she asked. She wanted to know everything about Ravenclaw as it interested her. She loved the colour and the mascot but she wasn't smart enough to get in.
