Kaden had been given his assignment and his new partner, and he was happy with both. Sure, something more glamorous would have been nice, but he knew that as a new Auror he needed to start out small. He was anxious for the experience.
He left Angelique's office, and had a short conversation with Kit, then headed over to the watercooler. Some of the new trainees were standing nearby, they must have just gotten through with a training session, or maybe they were on a break. Kaden had only just finished his own training so he thought he'd give them a sort of encouraging pat on the back. "Hey there," he said to one of the new girls. "How's the training going?"

Hestia had never been worked so hard in her life and she had actually thought that N.E.W.T.S and O.W.L.S were going to be the death of her. Oh no, if anything would kill her, it was going to be auror training. Sure, she had never wanted to be anything else, but still. This was just a little ridiculous. But Hestia wasn't one to complain out loud. In fact, she rarely complained unless she felt it benefited in some way or she was unusually hyper.
She indeed did love the group of trainees she had been paired with and Marlene, Alice, and herself had been spending much needed time together. And the aurors that were training them were helpful and encouraging so everyone felt motivated. Even with sore muscles and sprained ligaments.
Hestia winced. Thinking about sprained ligaments made her think of her own ankle which she had accidentally rolled while working out today. She was applying ice and testing it out when a rather handsome young man, whom she recognized as an auror that had been training them, spoke to her. Hestia froze. Guys never approached her, even just to talk. She was to boyish and intimidating. And they were never this good-looking. She cleared her throat quickly.
"Hi." sh*t...way to be lame Hestia.

Kaden wanted to chuckle at the girl's coy greeting, but he held it in. It was his experience that you never laughed at a girl, no matter the reason. Those hormones that made women so lovely also made them rather crazy at time. Better to err on the side of safety, he thought. The girl was icing her leg, something he was all too familiar with having hurt himself numerous times during his own training. "Rough day?" he inquired with a hint of sarcasm, indicating her hurt ankle.

Hestia looked down at her ankle and winced a little. "Oh, it's not too bad." she said and got up to test it. It hurt like hell and she immediately lifted her leg. "Or maybe I should just ice it some more. You know, just in case." She shrugged and replaced the ice.
Hestia never knew what to do when it came to guys, even just making friends with them. It took her forever just to obtain the guy friends she had now. She sighed. Why couldn't she be cute and playful like the other girls? She massaged her ankle. All she had to focus on was not being awkward.
