Raina walked into the Hufflepuff common room and looked around. There were several people around, but her favorite spot was still available. She pulled her chair up to the table and pulled out her stuff, intending to get started on her homework. However, being ADD as she was, her homework soon lay forgotten as she pulled out her journal and began to write. She watched the other Hufflepuffs went about their business, playing chess, doing homework, or just sitting and chatting.

Kat walked into the common room, having just left lunch with Tim. He was now with his siblings and Kat was left to entertain herself. She walked over and sat by the fire watching it for a little. Her head was swimming slightly, a lot had happened over the year that she needed to organize and settle, but Kat decided that it could wait till later.
She realized she had sat next to another student. "Oh, hello," Kat said politely.

Lacey had been sitting in her favorite chair in the common room, which seemed to be tonight, and she sighed. Everyone seemed to be talking or laughing, and she had a paper to write that she was already certain she'd never get finished. Still, it would do no good to go up to the dorm, because she'd just fall asleep there. She looked up to the two girls closest to her. She recognized both, but really only knew Raina from classes.
"Does anyone else have that Defense essay?"

Raina looked up as someone sat down next to her.
"Oh, hello" the girl said and Raina smiled and said hi back. Just then another fourth year with whom Raina had classes with, her name was L- something, Laura, Laney, no wait, it was Lacey, looked over at herself and the girl sitting next to her.
"Does anyone else have that Defense essay?" she asked.
Raina shrugged and said, "Sorry, haven't finished yet." She held up the corner of the papers that she had left on the table, closing her journal and setting it down next to them. She smiled before continuing, "ADD with a bit of procrastination mixed in makes for a not so diligent student." Raina ran a hand through her short blond hair, her thought back on her homework, for a few minutes at least.

Lacey sighed. No one had finished the essay. Maybe they could get away with it if no one turned it in... except that she was sure students in other houses had.
"I figured as much," Lacey said, agreeng with the girl's words. "I guess that's why we're not in Ravenclaw, hm?" She smiled a little and finally decided to give up on the paper for now. It wasn't like she was making any headway on it anyway.
"It's just not a good day for studying."

Raina nodded. She hated studying. It was so hard to stay focused. Either there was something going on around you to distract you, or you were in someplace that was too creepily quiet to work.
Raina sat back in her chair getting comfy again. She pulled out her wand and started to make random objects around the room float. "Studying is such a drag. I'd much rather be doing something more... entertaining." She grinned mischievously, before digging a hand into the bag at her feet.

(Wow, what a blonde Hufflepuff thread this is. I must be part of it!)
These days, Genevieve and Lance were seldom apart. Unless Viv was spending time with Eve, she was almost always with Lance. Some might even say they were joined at the hip. But tonight he was spending a little quality time with Josh, and Viv never wanted to split up the twins. Since she couldn't find Eve anywhere, she headed downstairs to the common room.
There were several girls down there already, talking quietly amongst themselves, and Genevieve, never a shrinking violet, walked right over and sat down with them. "Hi, everyone," she said in her sweet voice. "What's going on?"

"We're talking about our lack of an ability to study or do homework," Kat laughed. She listened to the 4th years talking about their essay and hoped that by next year- OWL year, they have figured out a good study plan. Kat learned that lesson the hard way.
"How are you Genevieve?" Kat asked.

Genevieve laughed. "Yeah, I know what you mean. I haven't really been concentrating much on my work these days. Lance usually helps me, but lately we've been getting... distracted."
She blushed. Since the foursome had split into two pairs, they no longer all got together to do homework. Which meant it was much easier for Genevieve to get distracted.

Roxanna walked into the Common Room, ready to study. She vowed that no matter what, she would get her studying done today. That was, until she saw the girls sitting around talking. She took a deep breath, not ready to let her shyness overcome her today, and walked towards the girls.
"Hello," she said quietly, "Is this a study group?" She mentally slapped herself--of course it wasn't, but she didn't know what else to say.

Lacey looked up as yet another person joined them, and she laughed prettily. "We probably should be," she said, looking around and then back down at her homework.
"Right now, I think we're actually more of a non-study group. You're welcome to join us. It's Roxanna, right? We're in the same year." The same dorms, come to that, but it had been such a busy year that Lacey wasn't as social as usual.

Roxanna smiled sweetly and sat down. "Yes, and you're Lacey, correct?" She asked as she put her homework on the table. She didn't feel like doing anything for magical creatures right now, and getting to know her fellow Hufflepuffs seemed like a better idea at the moment. "Procrastination always gets the best of me!" She said with a smile.

Not doing homework was something Genevieve could easily get behind. And whenever you got a bunch of teenage girls together in one place with no boys around, there was really only one thing to talk about. And even if Genevieve was happily seeing Lance, she could always get into a good conversation about boys.
"Hi, Roxanna," she said with a little smile. "I'm Genevieve, but you can call me Viv. Everyone does."
Lance had been the first, and she used to think of it as just his special name for her, but then everyone else started using it as well. Now she was so used to it that her own name sounded long and pretentious to her.

Roxanna smiled. She was happy she was meeting new people, and decided it was probably time she leave her world and join theirs, in a matter of speaking. "Hi. It's nice to meet you!" Roxanna said.

One of Genevieve's greatest qualities was her abiity to see other people's best features. The first thing she noticed about Roxanna was that she had lovely red hair, which made her stand out among the crowd of blonde Hufflepuff girls.
"It's nice to meet you, too," she said. "Your hair is so pretty! You're so lucky to have been born with such a vibrant color."

Roxanna smiled. It was always her eyes that got the attention, never her hair. This was something new for her.
"Thank you! I thought I was going to be the out cast because of it. It seems there's quite a bit of blonde Hufflepuffs!" She laughed, and took a second to look around at the other girls, all whom were blonde.
"No one has ever mentioned that before. It's always my eyes!" She said, turning back to Genevieve.

"You do have nice eyes," Genevieve agreed. It was something they had in common, since many people had commented on Genevieve's sparkling blue eyes. "But you stand out among all of us blondes. You'll never get lost in a crowd with such a bright, pretty haircolor. It's odd, isn't it, how sometimes the Sorting hat seems to go for types? Like how most Hufflepuffs are blonde, and there are a lot of red-haired Gryffindors, and the Ravenclaws are almost all brunettes? The most diverse bunch are usually the Slytherins, and yet you almost never see any redheads in Slytherin. Hey, does anyone want any chocolate? I could totally go for some..."
Such abrupt topic changes were rather common with Genevieve. She was so easily distracted, that her mind quickly jumped from subject to subject. Lance often compared her to a buttterfly, but in truth, she was more like a grasshopper.

Logan walked into the common room and instantly spotted the group of girls. The one that stood out the most was, of course, the red head. He chuckled about that. He'd always given her crap about it. Then he realized just how many blondes were in Hufflepuff. It was kind of funny when you thought about it. He wondered if the large bunch of blondes being placed in Hufflepuff made it the "dumb" house. He laughed silently at his own joke and walked over.
"Hey ladies. I'm Logan." He said and messed with Roxanna's hair before sitting next to her. She was like a little sister to him in a way. He would easily admit she was gorgeous but, he couldn't see her as more than family. They'd know eachother so long. "Hey Roxi." He said, nudging her. "Looks like you're standing out even more today, huh?"

Roxanna scowled at Logan as she fixed her hair. "I guess." She replied, and sighed. Sure, she loved Logan. He was like the older over-protective brother she never had, but she hated some of the things he did, like, for instance, messing up her hair. She was lucky to have him, though, and she knew that. He would always be there for her, even if others weren't. "What have you been up to today?" She asked.

He shrugged. "Nothin really. Went to A class. Screwed around with some of the boys." He said thinking about some of the jokes they were pulling on first years. They were so easy to screw with and so gulliable. He fixed a strand of her hair that she missed and lounged back on the couch. "So what are you ladies up to? Any juicy gossip you wanna share?" He said with a play grin and waggle of the eyebrows.
