Christine was a Gryffindor and Samantha was a Slytherin, but there was no way the two girls weren't going to fuss over one another and get dressed together, and neither really cared about the different houses anyway.
Samantha had of course invited Lyra, since they were already close friends, which was strange since neither really seemed the type to form close bonds but they had indeed formed a solid friendship.
Christine had also invited Alyx, she couldn't really help it, the girl had looked so forlorn for the past few days sitting in the common room and staring at the fire as if she were wishing for something too far out of reach.
A little digging and Christine found out that it was man trouble and in the spirit of things she decided to help the girl out.
They were probably breaking all sorts of social taboos by mixing Gryffindors and Slytherins together, but in light of the attack it was far more important to show school unity instead.

Alyx was surprised to recieve the invitation, well surprised was a mild word, shocked was more like it. Christine was a year ahead of her, and on the social scale much much higher. Alyx was a nobody as far as she knew and part of her preferred it that way, she didn't like being in the limelight there were too many competitors and too much confusion. Still she couldn't turn the girl down, for one it would be impolite and secondly no one turned down a Montgomery.
So a few minutes of moping later she was making her way up to where Christine had asked her to meet. Alyx had been there five years already and she never heard of this room but Christine who just started Hogwarts had already found it, it added points in Alyx's opinion who was a natural explorer herself.

Samantha hadn't taken too much longer to shimmy up to the secret room. It surprised her that Christine had already discovered the place as well. She had Dorian to thank for showing her where it was.
She stood in front of the door and waited a moment thinking of the last time she went there with Dorian, then she sighed, she didn't know what she was going to do with him at all. She liked him, to be sure, but it was all just so complicated. At least there seemed to be a reprieve what with the attack, and now the ball, she hoped strangely that he wasn't still mad at her.
But what if he was? Why should she care? She shouldn't. With that thought in mind she straightened her shoulders and entered the room like a queen.
She released her breath however when she saw her cousin, and smiled, " It was simply ingenious of you to think of this room. However did you find it?"

Christine smiled with pleasure as her cousin arrived, and it completely wiped out her forthcoming sigh at the look on Alyx's face. She was glad her cousin was there, Sam would definitely know how to turn oneself out, and not that Christine needed any help, but Alyx was utterly a ragamuffin, they had their work cut out for them, but Christine had already handled getting Alyx a dress.
" I'm a genious what can I say." she replied with a grin, "Did you bring the-" Sam nodded before Christine could finish and then Christine smiled briefly at Alyx with a determined look in her eye.

(OOC: I may just finish this in Alyx's character because I don't want to have to keep switching accounts)
Alyx glanced nervously between the two of them. One Montgomery was bad enough, but two would completely dwarf her own rebellious spirit, and that was saying something, although perhaps not much in light of recent events. She had to admit that she was rather listless lately because of Sin, and well everything else that had happened. She was upset, and it caused her to be moody in a way that she had never been before, whereas she was normally pushed to retaliate physically or verbally, she had never faced these girly emotions that kept her unhappiness bottled inside of her. She sighed again.
Then all chaos broke loose, the conspiritorial smiles between the two cousins went unnoticed by Alyx in her misery, and so she was taken fully off guard when they started yanking off her clothes. Not to mention a bit scandalized with undue modesty. She didn't have long to contemplate the factor when she was dumped unceremoniously into a deep tub full of perfect temperature water. Five minutes into enjoying that and she was yanked out of her day dream when they started to attack her with the age old torturing devices women used in grooming. She couldn't understand why any sane person would endure it.
A manicure, pedicure, wax, tweeze, scrub, buff, haircut, and perfumed massage later Alyx felt as if she had been through the carwash, where she was the car, that or perhaps the washer and dryer, every bit of her felt pulled and plucked and worn down. She was beginning to resent both of her captors. Finally she sat in a silk robe simply glaring at the both of them.
"Stop pouting Alyx, I can't do your make up." Samantha told her rather sternly. Alyx had the childish desire to stick out her tongue, but she curbed it and relaxed her features. She wasn't sure why she was being so compliant, and yet perhaps a small part of her was nourishing some strange hope that they could make her...beautiful. Not the child that Sin saw, but the woman, if they could turn her into a lady...why she'd endure all the pain in the world if it meant he would look at her differently.
Christine was behind her piling her hair atop her head in an arrangment of large sophisticated and structured curls, that formed a timeless regal look, diamonds were scattered strategically throughout her hair, and the crowning touch was the tiara affixed at the base of the updo.
When all was said and done, and she had been squeezed into her dress, Alyx didn't have anything to say, she dreaded seeing herself in the mirror and yet she wanted to see, badly. At the same time she had to prepare herself for disappointment, so as Christine and Samantha led her to the mirror she shrugged with nonchalance.
"No, head up, shoulder's back, pretend there's a broom riding along your spine, walk as if you were a queen bestowing favors upon your lesser countrymen." Christine added in, she had seen Samantha walk that way for as long as she could remember and laughed at her cousin.
Samantha stood at the mirror a welcoming and gentle smile on her face, Alyx could hardly believe that a Slytherin could be so kind, and she found it hard to dislike anyone once they had spent so much time helping, well perhaps she could dislike Sam a little considering the "helping" was quite painful.
Finally she took a deep breath and turned toward the mirror.

Samantha and Christine didn't take nearly as long getting ready in fact it seemed as if they simply whirled around and came out both looking like goddesses.
By the time they were done Alyx was still staring at herself in the mirror. It took a lot of getting used to, she simply couldn't fathom it.
"You're quite beautiful." Samantha said encouragingly stepping behind her and placing a hand on her shoulder.
Samantha in her own right was something otherworldly. Her gown was deep emerald with silver accents. All velvets and silks in her house colors. She was the Slytherin Champion after all and it was important to be garbed as such.
Christine joined the two of them glancing in the mirror. Her dress was for lack of a better term, spunky. Short it only reached her knees however it clung to her figure. It was black and bold, as was the rest of her make up and hair. She was just finishing attaching a shimmery see through over skirt that fell to the floor and seemlessly connected to the dress adding a taste of elegance to the costume.
"Well I do believe we are ready ladies."
