Jon led the boys from the dining hall to the cabin. "Go ahead, pick your beds. I'm going ahead and telling you now, I don't want to hear any agruing. If you have a problem with someone in the cabin, come to me first, and if I can't fix it, then I'll go to Dumbledore," said Jon. "Now, that's out of the way, make sure you get pently of rest tonight. If you have any questions at all, just ask."

Jason looked around the cabin. "What a dump," he said loudly. "Hey, I call the bed by the window!" He dragged his knapsack in and pushed past the Ravenclaw boy to get to the bed. "And if any of you snores, you're gonna regret it."

Landon watched the tall Slytherin push past him and claim his bed, slightly raising an eyebrow at him. He felt so out of place with all these guys who were so much older than him....and Lockhart. He had a good feeling that Lockhart did snore. He just had to hope that the Slytherin boy wasn't joking about making him regret it. Landon trudged over to a bed that was on the opposite side of the room of the Slytherin and set his things on the floor next to it before climbing onto the bed. "Any idea what we're going to be doing tomorrow, Jon?" He asked curiously.

Gilderoy happily strode into the cabin behind Jon and immediately began to set his stuff up around a bed next to the one the Ravenclaw boy had chosen. He grinned stupidly and looked around the room, getting a feel for the place. He finally turned to the Ravenclaw boy and looked at him curiously. "Hey! I remember you! I do believe commentated one of your Quidditch games this season. It's Lance, right? Or is it Larry? I can't remember. But I'm sure you remember me. My name's Gilderoy Lockhart. Or in other words, that deep, beautiful voice that you heard commentating at all the Quidditch games unsurprisingly belongs to me." He grinned again and chuckled lightly.

Jon coughed at Gilderoy's statement to keep from laughing. "His name is Landon Gilderoy. I know the activity is with Madam Hooch," said Jon. "I'm telling you now, you better get some sleep, because we're waking up early in the morning, and fair warning, I will wake you up, so I suggest you wake up the first time."

"Wonderful." Landon added sarcastically after glancing at Gilderoy with amusement. It was probably best to just ignore him. "Oh well. As long as whatever we're doing is at least somewhat fun it should beat staying at home with my aunt and doing virtually nothing." He said with a loud sigh.

Gerard came bustling in and struck his knee into the nearest bed post. He jumped back rubbing his knee. "Why did my mother make me join this camp?" he muttered under his breath, "'You'll make friends,' she says. What a bunch of sh-." He glanced up seeing all the other boys in the cabin and immediately halted his muttering.
He plopped his bag onto the bed where he banged his knee and just sat on it...looking at his hands.

Jon turned towards the door when he heard muttering. He gave a chuckle as the boy stopped his muttering. "You must be Gerard Winthrop," said Jon. "I'm Jonathan Thomas, the leader of the group, but you can call me Jon. This is Gilderoy Lockhart, Landon Travis, and Jason Bluth," he said pointing to each of them.

Gerard nodded to Jon. "But most people call me Rardy," he said. Actually, the only person that called him that was his mother. And, as much as he disliked it, he kind of gotten used to the name over the years. As Jon introduced each person, Gerard nodded to each of them. Gerard is normally a shy guy. And since this was his first time camping, this situation with ALL these people makes it very awkward for him.
Rardy looked around at all the faces. "Erm, Jon is it? Are we going to just be sitting around all day? Because if we are..." he trailed off and grabbed a sketch book out of his bag.

"Well, the staff have things planned for us," said Jon. "But, since it's kind of late to really do anything, unless they plan for us to do something tonight, which I highly doubt, then no, we won't be doing anything tonight. Just a fair warning, you better get good sleep, because you'll need it during the day of course, and I'll also wake you up every morning."

What are they planning, he thought to himself. Gerard was not the type of guy that enjoyed surprises. Even his mother knew not to throw a surprise birthday party or keep secrets too long from him. He tend to be the type of guy that always seem to worry about a lot of things. Gerard was not the "physical" type and couldn't believe his mother talked him into doing camping. It was one of the last things he wanted to do.
Gerard laughed nervously. Obviously, there was no way he could hide how scared he was of the next morning's events. And being woken up early in the morning to God-knows-what.

"Don't be nervous," said Jon. "They're not going to make us do something crazy. Probably stuff like canoing, swimming, or something like that, you know camping stuff. If you have any problems or anything, just come to me and I'll see what I can do about it, okay?"

"Yeah," Gerard said still nodding nervously. "Camping stuff." That was just the thing. He didn't think he was cut out for "camping stuff" which only made this summer camp not so much fun. At least he knew what was ahead of him, though. At least he can prepare himself drowning or something if they were to enter a body of water or something. "Thanks, Jon." Despite being nervous, he was really glad that Jon didn't just laugh at him or think he was wierd. That made Gerard trust Jon just a little bit more.

"Have you ever been camping," asked Jon. "I mean, it's alright if you haven't, because most people haven't been, but you're not scared of water or anything are you?"

Rardy shook his head. "Never have," he admitted. "B-But I CAN swim!!" he added quickly and much more louder than he meant. Oh great. Could he be any more socially retarded? The point of this little camp thing was to make friends not to make them think him absolutely strange.
He recoiled back onto his bed and grew silent. And quickly went back to sketching...

"It's alright. No worries," said Jon. "Uh, we can be partners then if we have to have partners. Sound alright to you?"

"Um...sure," Gerard said. Jon seemed like a nice enough guy so why not take him up on his offer? Gerard pushed his sketch book aside. He idlely twiddled his thumbs. And for once, he didn't talk like a blubbering idiot. "So what do you guys do for fun around here," Rardy couldn't suppress a tiny grin.

"Uh, nothing really," said Jon. "At night it's best to stay in the cabins and not go wondering, since the accidents happened during school. I guess you just have to use your imagination," he said.

Gerard was a little discouraged by this response. Yeah, this was the first time he's ever said more than two words at a time and even felt a bit mischievous. But Jon wasn't feeding the flame. He had just thrown a damp blanket on it and he was back to his old self. Boring, shy Gerard. No friends except for his mother, which in itself sounded extremely lame.
"Oh...alright," was the only thing Gerard could think up to say. I mean, what else was he supposed to do. He laid on the bed staring at the ceiling. This, it seemed, was going to be a long night.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind you going out, but with what has happened and all during the year, it's best if we don't. Trust me, I don't like being stuck in here either," said Jon thinking about how he could spend his time talking to Lucie. "Not that I don't like you are anything. It's not that, but you understand what I'm trying to say."
