It was lucky for Walker that it was raining outside, and that Quidditch had been cancelled this year for the tournament... it meant it was easier for him to steal the field on occassion, and especially today.
It was really the best place in the school to bring out a ball to kick around. Sometimes, he got other students in on it, but it was usually just him. He didn't mind. His friends back home would play a little soccer... er... football, with him over breaks.
He was going to get soaked, he realized, but he didn't mind much. That's what magic was for, right?

Maxi's life had been consumed by studying for the triwizard tournament. She decided that it was time for a break and was walking around the Quidditch pitch when it began to rain. "Aw hell..." she said, running into the pitch. She noticed someone else in the pitch kicking a ball. She missed football. She used to play it with her dad way before she started at Hogwarts.
"Are you playing football?" Maxi asked, ignoring the rain and walking out to where the other student was.

Walker's ears perked up, and he stopped in his tracks, looking up. The girl speaking to him looked familiar, but he couldn't place her for the life of him. She was probably younger than him, though by the looks of her, not by much.
"Yes," he called to her. At least she knew what it was. "Soccer, where I come from," he added with a grin. "Are you a fan?"

"A bit," Maxi said. "I used to play with my dad all the time before i started school." She walked closer so they wouldn't have to shout across the field. "Mind if i join?" she asked, her gaze switching between him and the ball and back.

Walker smiled. Thank God, someone else who played soccer. He couldn't even get used to calling it football. That was a different sport entirely.
"Of course you can, darlin'," Walker said, and tilted his head just a little. Hufflepuffs. Had to love 'em.
He kicked the ball towards her.

Maxi stopped the ball and dribbled toward the boy with expert talent. She stopped a few feet in front of him and juggled the ball a little before passing it back to him. "I'm Maxi," she said. "Maxi Borale." She knew now-a-days she didn't really need to introduce herself, being a champion and all. But she still did it anyway.
"So, Why are you playing in the rain?" Maxi asked. "Couldn't wait for a sunny day?"

"Why not in the rain? It ensures the field to yourself, doesn't it?" Cameron, an avid fan of soccer himself, had been watching the two play for a moment when he decided he wanted to join in.
He smiled. "Minus the random strangers that come and interrupt you, right?" He smiled at Walker, and then glanced at Maxi, neither of whom he knew. "Do you mind if I join you?"
He only recognized the girl because of the tournament, and he'd seen Walker on the field before, but that was it. "I'm assuming I've missed introductions. I'm Cameron."

"I don't mind," she said, "I'm Maxi," Maxi introduced herself. She got the ball back into her possession and then passed it to Cameron. "Nice to meet you." She smiled. Unlike some of her other House mates, Maxi had no problems with hanging out with a Slytherin for the afternoon, which was apparently taboo. Hell, she was dating one after all. She wondered idly if Seth knew Cameron.

Walker didn't get a chance to respond to Maxi before they were joined by another. Now all they needed was a Gryffindor, and they had all of Hogswarts represented.
"Nice pass, Maxi," he told her, and then kicked the ball back to her, his attention turning to the new comer, Cameron. "I'm Walker. And that's exactly why I play in the rain," he laughed. "But you're both welcome. The more, the merrier, right?"

Maxi wondered for a moment if she knew any Gryffindor's that knew/played soccer; but the only one who came to mind was Bek, and she didn't really like the sport all too much, so Maxi push the thought to the side.
"Thanks Walker," Maxi smiled. The rain began to pour a little harder, but Maxi didn't really mind, and she quickly pulled her hair back to keep it out of her face.
