Seeing the reconstruction of Hogsmeade made Talon almost smile, knowing what happened before hand. He was a twisted man and he didn't care.
Things as of late hadn't been going to well. June, his girlfriend, continued to seem friendly with everyone. That of course didn't settle well with him at all. Some could call him a jealous person, and they would be correct. He didn't like the way that other men stared at her and it was her own fault that they did.
When she wasn't being friendly with everyone else and being with him rather than the people at her work, made him happy. In public, he'd make sure that he was acting like the charming boyfriend, but if something he didn't like went on there would have been an argument.
Right now, he was just walking around Hogsmeade seeing if there was anything he could do.

June just left Virginia's art gallery, which she decided to make a point of trying to visit everytime she came into town for one reason or another, and she shoved her hands inside the pockets of her cloak. January was entirely too cold in London, and she couldn't wait for spring, even if it meant more rain.
Up ahead, she saw a familiar body and smiled, quickening her pace until she came up beside him. She didn't know what he was doing here, but it didn't really matter. She just wanted to say hi before she went back to the office.
"Hey sailor," she said playfully.

He paused to look in a shop's window that had finished cleaning up on the inside. It was some kind of book shop or something like that.
A voice beside him caught his attention. He could tell that voice anywhere and a smile crossed his face. Talon couldn't help but wonder why she was here and not at work. "Hey sweetheart," he said with a pleasant tone. He couldn't help but give her a glance over. However, knowing that she would notice that he did give her one, he responded, "You look more beautiful every time I see you." Of course, right now he was going to play the good complimenting boyfriend.
"What brings you to Hogsmeade?"

"Hey," June responded, standing up on her toes to give him a quick kiss. She did notice the once over, and waited for him to say something. She hated when he looked her over like that and then didn't say anything. At his compliment, though, her smile was back.
"Thank you." She loved compliments from him, more than she'd readily admit.
"Interesting story, actually. My best friend from school just moved into town and opened up the new art gallery. The one next to La Repas? I thought I'd drop by and say hi, since it is my lunch break. Didn't expect to run into you, though."

"You shouldn't thank me," he replied. "I'm just stating the facts." Talon gave her a wink. He didn't mind complimenting her, because it made her smile since he said something and that made him happy.
"Ah yes, your best friend. I remember you telling me about her a few times." He stopped his eyebrows from raising, but left his smile plastered on his face. "It sounds like you had a nice break. And I thought that I would just walk around and see how much has been rebuilt. Plus, you know that our anniversary is coming up soon." He gave her another wink and put his arms around her. "I was just looking around, and I'm glad that I did. I've gotten to see you after all."

"And was walking around Hogsmeade giving you ideas for our anniversary?" June asked, peering up at him curiously. He could be so sweet when he tried. It made her fall for him again every time.
"I actually have to head back to the Ministry... walk with me?" She asked. Since it seemed he was just out walking around anyway, he shouldn't mind a little detour.

Talon gave her a thoughtful look. "Maybe," he said, "but I couldn't tell you that. It wouldn't be a surprise then would it?" He could be the good guy when he wanted to be and after all, June hadn't done anything to get him angry with her... yet.
"Of course I'll walk with you, anything for my girl." He smiled and left his arm around her as they started to walk. Walking her back to the Ministry give Talon a chance to make sure that was were she was going. "How has your day been so far?"

"Oh, all right," June said, rolling her eyes, but she smiled, too. Unlike most people, June actually loved surprises. There was something about the spontanaity of it that allured her. "Keep your secrets if you must."
She leaned against him as they walked, putting her arm around his middle. "It's been slow. But it was really nice seeing Ginny again. And how has yours been?" She wondered what he did most days. He was one of those sorts that didn't need to work. It would have driven June crazy. She needed something to keep her busy, some area where she could be completely Obessive Complusive, and people would appreciate it.

"I'm glad that your friend moved here," Talon lied, "Now you can keep up with each other and have those girl days or whatever you call them." His lying was smooth and believable, he made sure of it.
"Well, you know, my day is been sort of lazy and boring. Its been boring because you're working and not at home with me." He squeezed her shoulder gently. "I've just been laying around. I did fold the laundry however, so I did do at least one thing productive. After that I thought I would come down here and see what was going on."

"I don't know how you stand it, Tal. I would go crazy in that house all day."
Every once in a while (well, every weekend, at least,) she would go through the place and just clean obsessively. It was hard to even talk to her when she was cleaning like that, as she was so focused on making everything perfectly neat. Even when she had her days off, she was hard to keep still.

Talon wasn't staying in the house all day he had a few other things he had to do from time to time but June wasn't going to know about what he did other than being home whenever she returned home from work.
"Whenever you get home, we're both going to relax. I could give you one of those massages if you wanted." Talon's smile was sweet and innocent. He liked the idea that June kept busy and worked. After all, if she didn't he would have to come up with lies about what he was doing, not that he didn't already, but she would have higher suspicions if she had any now.

Her smile widened a bit, if possible. "Mmm. I like your messages," she said with a little nod. They always made her relax, without fail. But then, Talon knew her well enough to know all the right spots to hit. They'd been together long enough that pushing buttons, good and bad, was second nature.
"But just so you know, I think I'm staying a little late today. Just an hour or so, but there's a lot we need to get done and we're falling behind a little."
She shrugged. It was no big deal in her mind. A breeze picked up, rushing by them, and she moved closer to him as they walked.

"I thought you would say something like that. You look like you need to relax for a little while," he said smiling playfully. Maybe tonight wouldn't be bad after all.
Talon tensed a little when she said that she was probably going to have to work overtime. He didn't like whenever she worked overtime. He wanted to ask her why they were falling behind, but right now they were out in public. That question would be asked whenever she got home. He looked down at her and smiled. "I hope you don't work to hard tonight."
He pulled her as close as she could be was they walked. Talon would see about keeping an eye on her somehow...

"Ah, I don't deserve you," June said with a little laugh. Sure, they fought and pissed each other off. A lot. But every couple did, and honestly, he was such a sweetheart most of the time. She really did love him.
"I will work extra hard, actually. That way I can get home sooner. How does that sound?"
One of these days, she supposed, she should think about moving in with him. She practically lived there already, but she still had her apartment on the other side of town. It seemed a little silly to still be paying for a place she rarely went to, but it was a safety thing for her. Just in case she ever needed it.

Talon kept his mouth closed from making some kind of comment about her not deserving him. He wasn't going to be that mean right now.
"Well, that does sound a little bit better," he said. "Plus, that would give me longer to help you relax." Talon pretended to be considering all this as they walked. "That sounds like a good plan, does it not?"

"Sounds perfect," June agreed. "I could stop on the way home and grab some chinese. Maybe we could watch movies... and I could give you something special for dessert," she said, nudging him slightly. That's where his messages usually ended up taking them anyway. Not that she minded. Not at all. She smiled at the thought.
"Or would you rather do something else?"

"Chinese sounds perfect with me," he said with a smile on his face. Chinese was his favorite, other than June's cooking, most of the time. "And watching movies with you sounds even better."
At the mention of dessert, Talon's eyebrows rose and he stopped for a moment looking down at her. His smile grew wider and he leaned in to kiss her. "Everything sounds perfect," he said pulling away. He continued to led her down the street. Maybe things would go perfectly tonight, the way he considered perfect. If that would be how it was going to go, then maybe he wouldn't question her about anything yet...

It was one of those things that if June really stepped back and looked at the situation, she could probably see all the warning signs, the problems and the clues that he was so controlling. But she never looked that deep. He was such a sweet, caring guy most of the time that none of the rest of it ever seemed to matter.
She smiled into his kiss. "Good. It sounds good to me too. We're nearly there. I think I can make it the rest of the way on my own, if you have somewhere to be."

The only reason that Talon acted sweet and caring toward June was so that it was easier to manipulate her. Yes it was wrong, but he didn't care. Talon was getting what he wanted and that was really all that mattered. He had a beautiful girl that would do just about anything for him.
"The only place I have to be is right here, walking you back to work," he said with a smile. Talon only wanted to make sure that was exactly where she was going. Sometimes, when he knew that she was on break, he would see if he couldn't follow her. Stalkerish, yes, but it was just to make sure that she wasn't doing anything she shouldn't have been doing.

June smiled. He was a sweetheart for the most part, and even if the relationship did feet like it was getting stale, she did love him.
She smiled to herself and thought about what Virginia said. She was clever, and she could probably think of something to spice up their relationship.
"We should do something really different for our anniversary. Something exciting, you know?"
