Doin Something At Late (Open)

Devlin Cross walked downstairs. She was in the Gryffindor Common Room where she usually except during lessons. She had no friends. Big surprise though. She was raised by wolves. Who would even want to talk to her? Devlin sat down at the window. It was at least 2:00 in the morning. She gazed out onto the grounds when she heard a door close. She didn't jump but turned her head slightly. To see a figure walk down the steps. So she turned her head in hope that they would leave her alone. But that never worked.

Byrnn couldn't sleep. It was a rare event that she couldn't get herself to fall asleep, and she never really knew why, but she couldn't. She figured a mug of hot chocolate from the kitchens would do her some good, so, without waking her dormmates, Brynn got out of bed and put on her slippers.

When she walked downstairs she saw someone in the common room jump, and it caused Brynn to jump as well. "Sorry," she said shyly, wondering if she could just shuffle by her housemate unnoticed. But then she remembered her convorsation with Sirius and she turned toward the other girl. "What are you doing up so late?" she asked curiously.

Devlin looked at the girl standing in the common room. She decided to be nice to her. After all she was a Gryffindor. "it's ok it was nothing." she said. "Um me well I was bored and me and boredom do not match. Plus I couldn't fall asleep. So...here I am." said Devlin smiling to the girl. "What about you?" she asked her smiling yet again.

Devlin thought she had seen the girl in the common room before but she wasn't certain. Devlin was never good at remembering.

[Brynn De Luca]

"I couldn't sleep," Brynn admitted. "I was going to go to the kitchens," she gestured to the portrait hole that was the exit from the common room. then Brynn smiled at the other girl. "Want to come? Beats being bored here in the common room.," Brynn offered.

Devlin smiled at the third year. "Sure." said Devlin getting up. She had never been invited anywhere. No where at all. "Yeah it does. I do it almost every night." said Devlin smiling. "Should we go?"

[Brynn De Luca]

Brynn grinned when the other girl agreed to joing her. She was secretly relieved that she wouldn't have to walk the halls all alone. The castle was pretty dark at night, and though Brynn wasn't afraid of the dark, it still gave her the creeps. "Yea, lets go," and she led the way out of the common room.

"I'm Brynn, by the way," Brynn introduced herself. "Brynn De Luca."

Devlin followed the girl out of the Common Room. "I'm Devlin. Devlin Cross." said Devlin smiling to Brynn. "I like your name. It's cool." said Devlin. The halls were dark. But Devlin was used to the dark. After all she was usually out in the dark in the summer with the pack.

[Brynn De Luca]

"I like your name too!" Brynn said enthustiuactally. Then she blushed a little, slightly embarrassed about being so excited. Brynn was surprised at how easy it was to be so...not shy...and she was glad she invited Devlin along with her. Wait till she told Sirius...

"So, you're in second year, right?" Brynn asked, trying to remember some familiarity about Devlin.

"Thanks." said Devlin smiling still. She looked down letting her long hair fall down over her shoulder. She looked up and brushed it out of her face. Devlin was glad she had said yes to Brynn. This was fun. Only thing was, Devlin had never been to the kitchens before.

"Yeah bit annoying sometimes how the Marauders are a disruption in class sometimes but I'm used to it." I said laughing slightly. "Your a third year right?"

[Brynn De Luca]

"Yea, third year." Brynn confirmed. She laughed when Devlin mentioned how disruptive her class could sometimes get. "Oh, don't worry about it, we're young,
i'm sure they'll grow out of it," she said.

Brynn stopped at a split hallway, trying to remember if it was left or right to the kitchens.

"I don't think they will." said Devlin laughing. "Their so childish. Except Remus. He's more of a boy Lily Evans." Devlin laughed again. "What do you think?" she asked Brynn. She really did love that name.

Devlin also stopped as Brynn did. "Brynn?"

[Brynn De Luca]

"Well, I really only know Sirius," Brynn said. "But trust me..." She angled her neck to look down one hallway. "...once they're older..." the other hallway. "...it's likely they'll grow out of it." she stood back and crossed her arms, desperatly wishing for a better sence of direction.

When Devlin said her name, Byrnn turned toward the second year and smiled. "Sorry, I'm trying to remember if its a left or right to get to the kitchens."

"I sure hope so." said Devlin smiling. "So if you know Sirius...what's he like?" asked Devlin thinking in her own mind what the boy might be like. Snobby, cool, nice, weird, boyish but all boys were boyish. Devlin really couldn't picture Sirius' personality as she usually could.

"Oh it's ok I just wondered what you were doing." said Devlin. "Isn't it like down by the dungeons or somewhere near that?" asked Devlin.

"Sirius is..." Brynn thought back to thier convorsation in the trophy room. "A good guy. He's caught up in some drama like everyone else at this school, but he likes to help people out."

"It's this way," Brynn decided after a few minutes of deliberating. She definatly remembered going this way.
