Roland paused. He looked at her, his eyes troubled. "I'll... I'll try," he said simply.
He took a breath, then forced a smile. "It'll be OK," he said again, almost as if trying to convince himself. "Be careful, and don't let in anyone you don't know unless they give you the code word."
He nodded at Jensen, then smiled one last time at Lina before he hurried out the door.

Lina frowned but nodded, agreeing to his instructions.
When Roland was gone, Lina turned to her brother. "I was worried about you. You're later than usual... and after what happened, I just thought... You're okay, right?"
There was a nagging feelng about Roland's safety in the back of her mind, and she just prayed that he would come to check in on her.

"Bye Roland," he said just as Roland left. Looking to Lina, Jensen nodded. "Yeah, I'm perfectly fine. I'm still just cleaning up. Plus, I was careful about coming home, so it just took me a little longer, honest." He walked over to his sister and put his arms around her. "I'm glad that you're alright." He gave her a brotherly kiss on the forehead.
"Now, its my turn to cook you dinner. What would you like?"

Lina sighed, shrugging. "I'm not really hungry, Jensen," she admitted. "My hands are still shaking."
She sank back to the couch, pulling a blanket over her legs. "We were so lucky that Roland got there when he did... will you do me a favor? Stay home for a couple of days. Just in case. I don't want anything to happen to you."
She didn't know he and Roland already talked about this.

"Well, we'll wait for a little while, then make dinner. I'm fine with waiting." He wasn't quite ready to eat yet, but he thought he would offer. Jensen took a seat next to Lina. "I'll stay home a couple of days. The shop can go a few more days with being messy." He was about to tell her that he was going to be fine, but he thought better of it.
"While I'm home, I'll make sure to tire both you and Mara out," he said with a smile.

Lina hugged her brother when he sat down. "Thank you," she said. He would know just how much she appreciated him staying home. She wasn't sure she could handle being alone for any length of time for a couple of days.
"I'm worried about Roland," she said, still keeping an ear out for Mara. "He felt so bad about what happened. It wasn't his fault, you know?"

He put his arms around Lina and hugged her in return. "Roland will be just fine," he said assuringly. "Of course it wasn't his fault. He'll figure whatever is going on out and things will stop." Jensen thought that it was the right thing for him to reassure Lina.
"And you and Mara are going to be safe, because I'm going to be home for a few days and we're going to all be little kids for a little while. Sound good?"
