He gave a laugh. "That was different," Josh agreed. "I wasn't really expecting Viv to make the first move. Besides, I thought that we didn't want to see them snogging each other." Seeing Lance and Viv made Josh want to tell Eve even more. He didn't really know why he had been waiting so long to tell her. Maybe part of him had been scared to tell her, in fear of rejection. Although, he wasn't sure if Eve would reject him. After all, she had reacted to the little kisses he had given her. Not to mention, she did kiss him back in the tree house, even though they hadn't talked about that one.
He put his arm around her shoulders. "You know, I can't wait to see what you look like all dressed up."

She laughed, his change of topic swiftly taking her mind to a different place, " Not hoping for too much I hope." she said with a shrug, she didn't think that much would change in her dress, although she did want to look pretty for Josh, she didn't know how much a dress could change her appearance.
On the other hand, nobody looked better in dressrobes than Josh did, well at least in Eve's perspective.

"Now Eve, you and I both know that you are going to look drop dead gorgeous, not that you don't already look like that. You're probably going to make me fall all over myself," he said grinning. Of course, Josh would probably end up doing that. Maybe the dance would give her more confidence in herself as well.
"Besides, even though my opinion is going to be biased, you're going to be the prettiest one there. And we're going to have a blast. If you don't want to dance, I'll just go out there on my own and dance by myself. You wouldn't want that, would you?"

She raised a brow at him but then laughed, "No I wouldn't want that." Perhaps tonight would be a good thing, perhaps she would look pretty, perhaps Josh was right, he never lied to her before. It was just recently with all his compliments, made her blush and perhaps a little uneasy, she never thought of herself as beautiful really, perhaps her kindness or her character, but she thought her looks were rather ordinary.
In either case she was determined to enjoy herself tonight and make Josh enjoy himself as well.

"That's my girl." He pulled Eve just a little closer for a side like hug. "I'll make sure that you enjoy yourself. If you want me to, I'll even twirl you all the way around the dance floor." Josh laughed. "Tonight is a night that we just let go and have fun. Anything can happen and we should just enjoy that."
Naturally, Josh was hinting that he was going to speak with her. Right now, his stomach was tight inside and it was like it was all knotted up. For the first time in his life, Josh was pretty nervous.

If he was nervous Eve certainly didn't know it. She gave him a blushing smile and then sighed. Viv and Lance were taking a while and if Eve was supposed to be this gorgeous creature she knew she was going to need Viv's help. Still she didn't dare rush them, in fact it kind of made her happy that they were ...evolving so to speak, at least well...perhaps it was a selfish thought, but at least Viv and Josh weren't getting together.
Not only that but Lance was one of her best friends, it was fitting that the girl he got together with be her other best friend.

Genevieve barely noticed when Eve and Josh left the room. She was blushing brightly over the kiss. It had been exactly what she had expected it to be, and she was now feeling warm all over. Of course, in her daydreams, she had never imagined that she would be dressed in a bathrobe, with her hair in curlers.
"I shouldn't stay very long," she said shyly. "I'm not even dressed yet. And my hair..." She raised her hand to the curlers. "I must look ridiculous."

"You look beautiful," Lance said, somewhat surprised by his own suaveness. He was playing this off a lot cooler than he felt inside, with his heart racing from the kiss.
"You're going to be the prettiest girl there in your dress and everything."
The very thought made him catch his breath, and he couldn't wait to see her all dolled up. "Okay, okay. You can go. But I'm going to wait for you here, okay?"
