For once in his life, Cillian took a break from working in the shop. Today, he took a day off which to him felt sort of weird. It was the weekend and he was usually always doing something in the shop, but his father actually persuaded him to take a break. Cillian agreed.
How was he spending his day off? Well, at the moment, Cillian was sitting in the Rusty Nail with a glass of firewhiskey in his hand. It took a lot for him to get drunk, so he wasn't too worried about how much he was drinking, nor what time it was. Today, he was relaxing, which was just what he needed.

Bellatrix had been frequenting the Rusty Nail more often lately. It wasn't that she particularly enjoyed the place but it was quiet and no one bothered her. Ever since the attack on Hogsmeade all anyone wanted to talk about was the Death Eaters, and Bellatrix didn't care to pretend she was against them. Here no one bothered to talk to her unless they knew her.
Bellatrix was dressed in a crimson wrap around dress that fell past her knees and was cut low enough that her silver charm necklace was not at all hidden by the silky fabric. Her hair was pulled up into a loose pony tail with curls framing her face. She looked much too nice for the dingey pub, but she never went anywhere without looking her best. As she entered she gave the place the usual look around and spotted Cillian Borgin, whom she hadn't seen outside of his father's shop since he graduated in her sixth year. "Borgin, you finally got a day off?"

Cillian looked down at his glass before taking a drink out of it. He liked this place, better than any other.
He didn't have to look up to know who that voice belonged to. "Yes Black, finally," Cillain said glancing up. A smile spread its way across his face. He looked Bellatrix over. She was always dressed her best, no matter where she was. Of course, Cillian thought that it was always nice to see her dressed up, but he couldn't always be dressed up. He would do it from time to time, but usually he was in some kind of comfortable clothing.
"Care to join me?"

"But of course." Bellatrix took a seat next to Cillian and flagged down the waiter to order a cocktail. While she waited in her drink she rested her chin in her hand and looked at Cillian. "How'd you convince your father to give you time off? I can't remember the last time I saw you outside of that shop."

Letting out a chuckle Cillian relaxed his back against his chair. "I didn't have to convince my father. He had to convince me to take a day off. I basically live there, as you already know, but father thought that it would be good for me to have at least one day off." He took a drink from his glass. "It does feel strange me sitting in here, rather than doing something at the shop. I have to admit that, but I think father is trying to make me meet people or something. I don't know what is going through that man's head."
He gave a shrug. "What about you? I heard you took a teaching assistant job at the school. What on earth made you want to do something like that?"

Bellatrix half listened to what he was saying while the rest of her mind was busy looking him over. He was much too pale, it was probably because he never left that dirty store. But he was cute besides that. "It sounds like you need to take more time off if you can't even have a nice drink and meet new people without worrying about your little shop."
"Oh, you know me. I simply must help the children." Bellatrix rolled her eyes as she spoke. She could lie about her reasons easily enough to Rothschild, but she didn't have to worry about that sort of thing with Cillian. Not that she was about to tell him the truth of it either. "My father said I needed to get a job or he'd cut me off. And since I don't actually have claim to Rodolphus' money just yet, I had no other choice."

"Well, father is the one that is usually taking all the breaks," said Cillian. "So someone has to be there. Plus, I don't really mind it. The stuff we usually get is pretty interesting, but I'll see about maybe taking a few more days off. Even though today has seemed strange, its been nice." He gave her a grin.
Cillian hid a laugh as Bella rolled her eyes. To him, Bella looked like she always had, and that wasn't a bad thing at all. "So, out of all the jobs out there, you chose a teaching assistant position of all things? I honestly never thought of you ever working with children." He raised his eyebrows. "I'm sure that you could have gotten a job in the shop," he teased her.

"I'd rather deal with brats all day than sit in that dusty store like you do. And really it isn't all that bad. I get to give out detentions, and Merlin knows I love punishing those snotty little Gryffindors." Bellatrix giggled, she really did love dolling out punishments.
Her drink arrived and she shooed the waiter away without thanks. "But I can't imagine you're needing help at the shop. Aren't your siblings in line to work there as well?"

"Using the job to your advantage, I like it," Cillian said. "And I don't just sit around in the 'dusty store'. I actually work and I rarely have time to sit down. I'm either running errands, sorting through the inventory, or researching the newer items. It's not that bad."
He finished off his first drink and the waiter appeared to refill his drink before going away. The waiter knew not to bother him too much. "Yes, Collin and Colette are in line for it, but I doubt that they will really want to do so. They can do what they want, it'll be just fine." He gave a shrug. "Besides, I didn't say that help was really needed, I just said that you could have gotten a job there. I could have found something for you to do."

It still sounded terribly boring, no matter what Cillian did to fill his day. Researching? Bellatrix would have hung herself before spending a day researching anything. Those days were gone, as soon as she graduated. She was going to do as little work as possible, which was why she often got the Ravenclaw students to assist her in grading papers. She offered them extra credit points which they jumped at.
"Something for me to do? Hmm...and what would that be?" She smirked as she raised her glass to her lips.

"Oh, I don't know. I could have you do thing like look through dusty old boxes," Cillian said teasingly, looking over his glass. "Or I could have you just sit there and look pretty to provide something to pass the time away." After he took a drink from his glass, he smiled at her. "Or you could help keep me going. There are numerous things that you could do."
His eyes showed amusement, and the half smile, half smirk apparent on his face.

Bellatrix smiled. "I am rather fond of looking pretty..." There were a number of things she could think of as well to help him pass the time, and strangely enough Cillian was one of few people who she'd not done anything with. He had never shown an interest before. But with Rodolphus annoying her more than usual these days, Bellatrix didn't bother with waiting for others to initiate.

"See? That would be a perfect job for you. I'm sure that you would probably attract a few more customers, and you would also serve as a distraction to me." Cillian gave her a wink. During school, Cillian was partially shy. He didn't really have any girlfriends. During school, he only had two, but he was single whenever he graduated and had been single since.
"That wouldn't be that bad of a job would it?"

She was quite sure that Borgin & Burke's didn't need more customers. The Burkes were plenty well off, and it would seem that the Borgins just got a raw deal. How was it that two partners were paid so vastly different? The Borgins weren't poor by any means but they should have much more money for the amount of time they put into that shop.
Bellatrix leaned forward, her chin again in her hand. "No, I don't suppose it would be. But would you do to keep me entertained all day?"

"Well, I could always let you hassle the customers," said Cillian with a smile. "But I'm sure that I could come up with a few things to keep you entertained. Whatever would spark your interest, I'm sure I could do it." He gave her a wink before taking a drink from his glass.
The store was fine the way it was. The customers that they had were a little sketchy, but what other kind of person did you expect in Knockturn Alley?

"I don't think you'd get much work done with me there," she purred. Her foot slid up his leg under the table and a feline grin appeared on her face. She was bored with just talking and his cute little winks weren't nearly enough for her at the moment. He could be as clever as he wanted, but Bellatrix substance.

"Oh, that could be a theory we could put to the test," he said a little suggestively. Feeling her foot run up his leg, Cillian reached out and took a gentle hold of her foot. He smiled wickedly at her and ran his hand up the back of her leg as close to her knee as he could reach, then back down, only to let go.
If she wanted to play, Cillian was ready for her.

She had yet to order a drink, so there was no reason to stay around and get her money's worth. And it wasn't as if she needed to get pissed before leaving with the cute Borgin. She'd done much worse when sober. Bellatrix leaned across the table with a gleam in her eye. "Shall we?"

Finishing off his drink and putting a few coins on the table, Cillian nodded. "I suppose we shall," he said giving her a wink. "After all, I can't have a nice looking lady such as yourself walk home alone. You never know what's lurking in the dark." He gave her another one of his half smiles, half smirks, and stood up. He walked over to her side and offered her his arm.
"M'lady," he said with a slightly exaggerated bow.

"I do believe the things lurking in the dark have all come from your little shop, Borgin." She was teasing, but there as some truth to that statement. So many of the customers at Borgin & Burkes were only interested in the Dark Arts. Bellatrix found herself in their midst many times, though she had the decency and money to make herself more presentable when need be.
She wrapped her arm around his and let him guide her out of the pub without a second glance.
